I got that bootleg. That isnt when he spits on the fan though. He does that during Pigs(3 Different Ones) when he starts to go batshit insane during the middle.
Its the same show. He doesnt actually spit on the guy for another two songs though. I just thought that was funny.

"Oh for fuck's sake!"

rippa32 11-14-2006 09:01 AM

Id love to find footage of The Wall show, does anyone know where to get it?

Kingofdudes 11-14-2006 10:30 AM

There was one on a torrent at one point, im not sure about now. Thats how I got one of the concerts. The quality is pretty bad though.

Riva 11-14-2006 09:52 PM

You can always pick up a copy of Roger's solo concert of The Wall.

rippa32 11-15-2006 05:42 AM

Is it the same theatrics and everything?

Riva 11-16-2006 08:12 PM

I'm fairly certain you'll find that Roger does a wonderful job of taking the stage show he concieved off from Pink Floyd to his solo career. :p

Also, I uploaded the Early Singles to the Daily Upload, so you guys can enjoy listening to studio versions of Careful With That Axe, Eugene among others.

MattSharpIsCool 11-16-2006 10:24 PM

So I heard David Gilmour is re-releasing two versions of Arnold Layne. One of them has Rick Wright on vocals, the other has David Bowie on vocals. Why anyone would collaborate with Bowie is un-explainable, I'm sure the Wright version should be nice to hear.

Well, I've already heard it in a live video, but still.

Riva 11-16-2006 10:31 PM

What's wrong with David Bowie?

The Early Singles has Syd on vocals.

MattSharpIsCool 11-16-2006 11:08 PM

I cant stand David Bowie, that's all.

What all is on Early Singles? Are Lucy Leave, Apples and Oranges, and Vegetable Man on there? Those songs = good.

Riva 11-16-2006 11:12 PM

Not Lucy Leave or Vegetable Man.

1. Arnold Layne
2. Candy and a Currant Bun
3. See Emily Play
4. Scarecrow
5. Apples and Oranges
6. Paint Box
7. It Would Be So Nice
8. Julia Dream
9. Point Me At The Sky
10. Careful With That Axe Eugene

MattSharpIsCool 11-16-2006 11:17 PM

Well damn.

And I havent heard a lot of those songs. Maybe I should download the CD.

I'm finding myself liking Barrett-era Pink Floyd less though. I dont know why, I just am. Maybe I should listen to Piper and stop being retarded.

Riva 11-16-2006 11:20 PM

I uploaded the album for the Daily Upload, so you can get it tomorrow, I think.

magicbus 11-17-2006 01:39 AM

I love Bowie. One of the coolest cats to ever hit the rock scene.

MattSharpIsCool 11-17-2006 01:41 AM

His music is just way too freaking weird for my liking.

And as much as I hate to admit it, his "glam-rock" clothing and glitter and eyeshadow and what have you factor into that also.

magicbus 11-17-2006 01:53 AM

Yea that's true. I don't dig on guys dressing like chicks, but I look past that with Bowie. I mean he wasn't too weird about it, just looked a little androgynous in the Ziggy Stardust era.

rippa32 11-17-2006 03:14 AM

I find him boring, all of his songs just drag on. And to me they all sound the same.

Yield 11-17-2006 06:44 PM

I finally got the Pulse DVD. Great stuff, but from watching it, I think my next album will be from some of Floyd's earlier stuff. Partly because I don't enjoy the newer stuff as much and because I like the early stuff better.

rippa32 11-17-2006 08:21 PM

You'll find a lot of people share the same opinion. As much as David was under-credited during the time Roger was in the band you really needed Roger.

Riva 11-17-2006 08:35 PM

Roger was still with them for much of the post Live At Pompeii stuff though.

MrKite 11-17-2006 09:36 PM

I'm now just understanding how awesome this band is. My first cd was Dark Side Of The Moon and I didn't like. I decided to give it another try with The Wall and I'm glad I did. I can now call myself a Floyd fan.
I have been wondering, though; Are they still together?

rippa32 11-17-2006 10:05 PM

Roger is no longer in the band. However there are no plans to make more Floyd albums. So not really.

Yield 11-17-2006 10:19 PM

I finally finished watching Pulse. Wonderful show they put on. Time is one of my favorite Floyd songs there is.

Txus 11-17-2006 10:24 PM

Pulse is one of my favorite music DVD's.

Yield 11-17-2006 10:32 PM

yeah, I liked it about the same as The Wall: Live in Berlin
which means I love both of them very very much

MrKite 11-17-2006 11:45 PM

Time is one of the best songs off of DSOFTM.
What do you guys suggest I get next by these guys. I think they'll soon become one of my all time favorites.

Yield 11-17-2006 11:56 PM

Animals. Animals is one of my personal favorites.

robo2448 11-18-2006 12:18 AM

Well has DSOTM grown on you? If it has, Wish You Were Here or Meddle would be the way to go. WYWH first though. If you like the Wall much more, then maybe Animals since Roger dominated the band on that too. Actually the Final Cut is the most similar album to the Wall but I would recommend those 3 (and a bunch more) over that one.

And David Bowie was one freaking weirdo but pretty awesome. Heroes is one of the best songs ever written.

MattSharpIsCool 11-18-2006 12:21 AM

Animals is good. It's very different from Dark Side though. It's alot more like The Wall, which you said you liked. So maybe try that one.

Try Obscured By Clouds. It's also pretty different. Its kind of pop rock-ish.

And Meddle is good. Kind of the start of the Pink Floyd "sound."

And "Heroes" is probably the only Bowie song I can stomach.

rippa32 11-18-2006 01:23 AM

I'd say meddle if only for One Of These Days and Echoes. The others are very different to the Dark Side sound but still very good songs.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-18-2006 01:27 AM

Wish You Were Here, Meddle and Animals are the ones you should get next. In that order.

MattSharpIsCool 11-18-2006 01:32 AM

Do you like psychedelic rock? Yes____ No_____

If you marked "yes" above, try Piper At The Gates of Dawn. A fellow named Syd Barrett wrote most of the songs, played guitar, and sang on the CD. He was soon replaced by David Gilmour because he went crazy.

If you marked "no", choose one of the other CD's that have been mentioned.

And is it just me, or does anyone else find WYWH overrated? "Shine On" is one of my favorite Floyd songs, and the others are good, I just dont know if it's necessarily a "masterpiece" like a lot of people refer to it as.

rippa32 11-18-2006 02:19 AM

I feel the same. I found the other ones Water's had heavy influence on were better.

Lunch 11-18-2006 02:39 AM

I used to love WYWH but when I put it on now I can't get the same effect at all. I guess it just got boring to me, but I can still listen to Dark Side and Animals.

rippa32 11-18-2006 07:28 AM

I get bored with Dark Side which is funny because I used to idolise that album.

Riva 11-18-2006 08:06 AM

I find I listen to DSOTM less and less, but I still love it.

I don't think I could ever grow tired of WYWH, even though it's quite painful to listen to the title track right now, for emo reasons.

rippa32 11-18-2006 08:20 AM

Well for me the only thing still going for it is Shine On and Welcome To The Machine.

MrKite 11-18-2006 11:31 AM

DSOTM really bores me. I think the next ones for me will be Animals and Piper At The Gates (I love psychedelic rock).

Lunch 11-18-2006 11:49 AM

You better really love psychedelic rock for Piper.

MrKite 11-18-2006 01:14 PM

Oh, I do. It's one of my favorite genres.

Jacaranda 11-18-2006 01:47 PM

I just learned Money and Pigs (3 Different Ones) on bass. Pigs is really fun to play.
