SSTB>Anything else Coheed has done.

I pity you if you can't get into it. It's amazing.

DJ Ducksauce 05-12-2006 07:33 PM
Oh well each to his own I guess. Doesnt change the fact that Coheed are definatley awesome. After five listens, im still not into SSTB though...it seems all choppy, kind of, like its got no rhythm, and the drumming is over-done groove wise to my mind.
IKS was the easiest to get into, but after you give SSTB more listens, you love it. It took me more than 5 listens too. I used to just listen to the singles, but after hearing the whole thing several times, it grows on you lots.

Mitch2oo6 05-12-2006 07:46 PM

Oh well, Ill keep listening and see how it all goes.

Fish 05-12-2006 11:12 PM

i think im playing a cover of the light and the glass tomorrow, for this small show, with my friend.

TMA 05-13-2006 12:29 AM

I did that last year!
Acoustic, by myself.
Went over REALLY REALLY well, so...
DO IT!

Mitch2oo6 05-13-2006 05:24 PM

Have you got a recording of it?

DepthsOfDreams555 05-13-2006 05:26 PM
i think im playing a cover of the light and the glass tomorrow, for this small show, with my friend.
Dude record that mess, I want to hear it thats really cool Dave!

And ya Brent do you have any audio of it?

TMA 05-13-2006 06:21 PM

I don't have audio of it. I have video of it, but the sound quality is crap. Maybe when I get back home I'll do some more recording.
Besides, while it went over well, is was my very first performance eve, so I was rather nervous and my voice was cracking in a few places. I'd rather just go home and record it. ^^

cobert 05-13-2006 06:25 PM

I remember you saying you performed it for your school or something. You said you cut out the 'liar' part, if i remember correctly.

YDload 05-14-2006 11:58 PM

i just got back from the pittsburgh show with a7x. coheed was really good, of course.

they played "The Crowing" which is probably my favorite song of theirs. i didn't know they played it on tour so i was really excited.

they ended with a half-hour long rendition of "The Final Cut" with Claudio playing solos behind his back, with teeth, and he tried the violin bow trick but it didn't seem to work. oh well it wasn't any big deal, the rest of the show was great.

setlist if I can remember:

IKSSE: 3
Ten Speed
The Crowing
Wake Up
Delirium Trigger
A Favor House Atlantic
Everything Evil
The Suffering
Welcome Home
The Final Cut

I'm not sure if the order is right but i think that's every song they played.

Mitch2oo6 05-15-2006 12:57 AM

What an awesome show it would have been.

cobert 05-15-2006 12:00 PM

Yeah man, the final cut was waaaaay elongated when i saw them too.

I didnt go to that show because i didnt have any money, and i hate a7x.

YDload 05-15-2006 04:09 PM

Oh I forgot, they also played Blood Red Summer as well. All in all a terrific show. They messed up a few notes here and there, but nothing drastic.

cobert 05-15-2006 04:19 PM

GOOD STORY.

My sister just came back from her job at the mall, and she said avenged sevenfold were there. They were on the up escalator, and she was going down, then they were waving to her and saying 'HEY!!!'. I asked her why she didnt say anything back, and she said "If it was a better band, then maybe I wouldve acknowledged them."

DJ Ducksauce 05-15-2006 05:55 PM

lawl, that's nice.

Their guitarist looks like a fag.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-15-2006 07:01 PM

They are all douches and full of themselves.

TMA 05-16-2006 11:09 AM
I remember you saying you performed it for your school or something. You said you cut out the 'liar' part, if i remember correctly.
Indeed I did. It was a school event, and I thought that the whole "liar" part was kinda just 30 seconds of fluff. The vocals don't change much, nor does the guitar, so... I just left it out.

OUCH!
That's awesome. I like some of their older stuff like the song Darkness Surrounding.
But ever since that dude decided he "could sing", I just can't listen to them.

cobert 05-16-2006 01:17 PM

Yeah, now he sounds like axl rose, which i dont see as a good thing.

halfdeadhippo 05-16-2006 01:31 PM
It didnt take long for me to like SSTB. IKS was amazing at first, but now all but a few songs just seem kind of *GASP* generic. It seems like they tried to make a formula to wrte some songs, or like they just tried shoving every single riff theyve ever written into some songs. Still, it has a few classics. And i rarely ever listen to GA.
These are my feelings exactly. I hope they get their act together for GA 2.

YDload 05-16-2006 04:16 PM
Yeah, now he sounds like axl rose, which i dont see as a good thing.
yeah that's what he sounded like when he shouted "I CANT HEAR YOU PITTSBURGH!! LETS MAKE SOME MOTHERFUCKIN NOISE!!"

then he went on a rant about how people slag off A7X on message boards "...but they're at home on the computer and we're here havin a good time, so motherfuck them right up the ass! When they see you comin they turn and run!" everyone cheered but would someone who hates A7X really run away at the sight of a 14 year old girl or a scrawny guy with a bad haircut? cause that's most of their die-hard fans anyway.

DepthsOfDreams555 05-16-2006 04:25 PM

Did he really say "So motherfuck them right up the ass" because if he did, wow, just ya.

YDload 05-16-2006 04:28 PM

I'm not sure if that's word-for-word because he threw in a lot of f-bombs and I don't want to waste my time evading the filter on every single one of them.

DepthsOfDreams555 05-16-2006 04:29 PM

Well, if it was even along those lines, I think he needs to keep his mouth shut more often on stage.

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 05-16-2006 05:53 PM

They use to be cool. I heard they also use to be cool guys. I guess money changed them. And they talk to much about people not likeing them.

cobert 05-16-2006 06:00 PM

Thats terrible. They always try to act like theyre some big 'rockstars' and like they do anything they want, but i actually read an article once where the magazine did a phone interview with the singer, and they said his girlfriend answered the phone and told the reporter about their skiing trip to colorado. It made me chuckle because it made him look like a little bitch compared t what he acts like he is.

Oh, does anyone know about what's going on with Prize Fighter Inferno?

B 05-16-2006 06:29 PM

I've got a few PFI songs.

No clue what's up with him though.

DJ Ducksauce 05-16-2006 06:51 PM

Yeah, I've got those. I know that Coheed is touring, but I thought they'd have more PFI stuff up before Coheed started touring.

B 05-16-2006 08:19 PM

I think Claudio wants to finish off the Coheed stuff before he gets PFI rolling.

DJ Ducksauce 05-16-2006 08:44 PM

Ah, I figured.

chumpradio 06-15-2006 06:34 AM

Bumpity bump bump.

I am listening to Coheed properly for the first time in ages.
I also get to see them at Leeds Festival in August. :D Can't wait for that, I couldn't go to their gig here a few months ago.

Henrik 06-15-2006 10:39 AM

I'm also seeing them at a festival in 3 weeks :D

Bad Blood 06-15-2006 02:42 PM

I'm starting to go off Co&Ca :(

They were one of my fav. bands at one point.

Pazz 06-15-2006 03:09 PM

I was listening to them ALL day.

Henrik 06-16-2006 05:48 AM

**** Co&Ca. They are not comming to my town as planned because one of them has become ill.

DepthsOfDreams555 06-16-2006 08:33 AM

I was listening to Coheed in my car last night, first time in a while.

Iron Bug 06-16-2006 11:05 AM
**** Co&Ca. They are not comming to my town as planned because one of them has become ill.
What bastards.

Henrik 06-16-2006 04:40 PM

Yeah, I know he did it because he want to make my life suck :D
