I Want You is one of my least favourite songs from Abbey Road. It's still better than 95% of the music out there though. I like the ending.

Kinda like how (IMO) Let It Be is sub-par on Beatles standards, it still kicks the *** off of most of anything anyone else has done that I own

slowhand 05-25-2005 05:57 PM
I think he may be mine, but then I will swing back to Lennon. Is that Harrison in your avatar?
That in the avatar is in fact the true God, Eric Clapton.

George is Jesus (or Krishna, if you like).

And rounding off my Holy Trinity of Guitarist is David Gilmour, as the Holy Ghost.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-25-2005 06:36 PM
Guess what guyz, I like "I Want You" also!
That part didn't sound like you magicbus, but the rest did.

Something terrible has happened. He lost his pimpness.

 I was just throwing in the "lame excited kid" because you guys were talking about "I Want You". I still have the pimpness

And yea, that's Clapton in my avatar.

I totally love Magical Mystery Tour right now.
This is just a total masterpiece, with so many classic pop songs, and just brilliant classic rock.

Scooch 05-27-2005 01:52 AM

Is anyone else seeing Paul McCartney when he's doing his U.S. Tour this Summer/Fall? I think I'm getting tickets to the Toronto show!

clown_phobia 05-27-2005 01:55 AM

Nah - I've live in australia, but it would be awesome to see him...

Walrus Gumboot 05-27-2005 09:02 AM

I can't imagine what it must be like to live in Australia. Culturaly you are so similar to US/Canada/UK but you are so very far away from everything. Good for you.

I am seeing him in Boston :D

It is awesome. Every song is brilliant, except maybe Your Mother Should Know and Flying, which are good, and fun to listen to, just not as good as the rest.

Only about 4 or 5 big bands come here every year, and most of those are pop or pop/punk.

We do have a beatles festival every year though... :D

I'm really digging MMT right now too. Strawberry Fields is one of my favorites of all time. It's a little eerie, but that's one of the qualities that makes it so cool to listen to. The lyrics are perfect, too. When John says, "No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low. That is ya can't, you know, tune in, but it's alright. That is, I think it's not too bad," that describes just how I feel sometimes.

robo2448 05-29-2005 10:26 AM

Strawberry Fields Forever is 1 of those absolutely perfect songs

BludgeonySteve 05-29-2005 10:27 AM

Yeah. The Beatles have quite a few perfect songs.

(and albums)

freestyle1k86 05-29-2005 11:03 AM
I Me Mine was actually the last song they recorded together. It's a Harrison song on Let it Be. By Abbey Road, they were never recording together any more.
Are you sure?
For example the Ballad For John and Yoko was the only tune that was recorded by only John and Paul. I've never heard of an album where none of the recordings were done with everybody playing at the same time.

freestyle1k86 05-29-2005 12:03 PM

IN fact, I Me Mine was only recorded by Paul, George, and Ringo. Lennon was away getting a hair cut. Seriously.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 05-29-2005 12:16 PM

I thought John was waltzing with Yoko in the studio during the recording of I Me Mine.

robo2448 05-29-2005 12:33 PM

I could have sworn I Me Mine was the last according to The Beatles Anthology. I'll double check though.

Hard_Rocker_Revived 05-29-2005 01:01 PM

I like some of the less known songs by the people that only know songs from the Beatles 1 cd.

"Please Please me oh yea, like I please you!"

So catchy.

DeusExMachina 05-29-2005 02:41 PM

I'm fairly certain they recorded together on at least some of Abbey Road.

drugstore cowboy 05-29-2005 03:26 PM

I like Ringo's drumming on Please Please Me. It's just a fun song.

And I've seen somewhere that I Me Mine was the last song they recorded together. There always must have been someone away during Abbey Road.

GeorgeHarrison 05-29-2005 04:20 PM
I thought John was waltzing with Yoko in the studio during the recording of I Me Mine.
That was probably just a practice, I doubt that was an officail recording. I see that you have watched Let it be the movie. lol

GeorgeHarrison 05-29-2005 09:17 PM

Why the hell is paul losing ground in the Top 100 bassist polls? WTF?!!!!!!!! :(

thickasabrick 05-29-2005 09:39 PM
Why the hell is paul losing ground in the Top 100 bassist polls? WTF?!!!!!!!! :(
Because Paul McCartney focused more on writing amazing songs, than showing off his skill at bass and most people voted for who thought had the most skill.

GeorgeHarrison 05-29-2005 10:11 PM

Well, sorry, im a Paul McCartney Fanboy.

blue3 05-30-2005 12:01 AM

I voted for Paul McCartney

GeorgeHarrison 05-30-2005 04:06 PM

Good work my friend.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-30-2005 04:12 PM

Why the eff is this on page 3?

I love posts like these. They just help the thread move along SO fast

Everyone keeps talking about this Beatles anthology book, where can I buy this tome of Beatles-awesomeness?

And for how much?

magicbus 05-30-2005 04:38 PM

I don't really have anything new to say, except I continue to love Abbey Road. Every song on that album is amazing. I could say the same for Sgt. Pepper's, except I don't really like the Remix song. And I haven't listened to all of the White Album yet, but I'm sure it'll turn out perfect.

I got it for Christmas years ago when it first came out, I think it was expensive like $60. I read it a little then, put it away for like 5 years and then picked it up this year. It's excellent, a lot of great quotes, pics, and explainations behind songs and stuff like that. You can probably find it in any book store, Borders is probably your best bet if there's one near you. I'd say it would cost $30-50, not sure though.

GeorgeHarrison 05-30-2005 05:58 PM

I was at the Rock & Roll Hall of fame yesterday and i got to see some pretty cool beatles stuff. By far the coolest things had to be Lennons Rickenbaker (Black & white) and Lennons Sgt. Pepper Coat. I couldnt believe i was standing right in front of theese things. It was Truely amazing.

drugstore cowboy 05-30-2005 06:12 PM

My sis made me a Sgt. Pepper coat, blue like Paul's.
except I don't really like the Remix song.
You're a minority :p. I love it if only for Ringo's unbeatable groove at the beginning.

robo2448 05-30-2005 06:41 PM

I love the remix song. Listening to the remix followed by A Day In The Life is just amazing.

GeorgeHarrison 05-30-2005 06:46 PM

Its called "Reprise" . Omg Wtf n00bz Rofl lolz
