shadow_stalker 02-24-2005 03:38 AM

is school actually off today? (to sack-man)

i don't like the last 4 songs on the best of black sabbath (including 'a hard road')

rippa32 02-24-2005 04:06 AM
I think he only did Born Again. I may be wrong.
Yeah that was the only one. Underrated album or so I've heard.

relayer 02-24-2005 05:06 AM

Born Again is not only underrated but "apparently" it's considered to be crap. The cover is said to be the worst album cover ever, which may be true...it's pretty bad.
Anyway, the album is quite good- the title track is great, the riff from "Zero the Hero" can be heard in GnR's "Paradise City", strangely enough, and "Born Again" is where the whole "Stonehenge" idea in "This Is Spinal Tap" came from. I think, but I could be wrong...

rippa32 02-24-2005 05:31 AM

I quite like the cover. And no I am not disturbed.

acefrehleyjendell 02-24-2005 06:37 AM
I think he only did Born Again. I may be wrong.
Yeah he did, the Dio tracks are heaven and hell, and turn up the night.
The Dark/Zero the hero are the Gillan tracks.

IAJP 02-24-2005 12:04 PM

SS:A Hard Road is good, one of the best off NSD.
Rippa: Yeah it's a good/underated album

shadow_stalker 02-24-2005 12:35 PM

i dont like it, it's not bad but it really isnt on of my favourites

HEDRIXISGOD 02-24-2005 12:52 PM

blackshuck 02-24-2005 01:15 PM

Black Sabbath are getting together to play Download this year, if i can go it will be the best show of my entire life

willis2441 02-24-2005 01:16 PM

i got iron man live on my musicmatch jukebox :thumb:

pigonthewing82 02-24-2005 01:42 PM

I love The Wizerd I think thats Black Sabbath's most underrated song.

Brew 02-24-2005 01:56 PM

I can play all of Iron Man on bass.

I normally improvise over the Sabbath bass lines, for example in The Warning there's at least 5mins of solid bass improvisation thats great to play if ye have a good idea of what yer doing.

I wish people would read the thread, we've known about Sabbath being at Download for ages.

shadow_stalker 02-24-2005 01:56 PM

The Wizard is a brilliant song, but im not sure if it's their most underated. But it's pretty high on the list.

shadow_stalker 02-24-2005 01:57 PM

i tried to play iron man on the drums but i thought my arm was going to fall off by the end of it.

Brew 02-24-2005 02:09 PM

First time I played all of Iron Man full speed my arm did fall off.

Wow impressive. Yea I do a lot of guitar improv on Iron man, but its easy to find improv areas on that song for guitar.

Danger Bird 02-24-2005 03:52 PM
Wow impressive. Yea I do a lot of guitar improv on Iron man, but its easy to find improv areas on that song for guitar.
Yeah i have to improvise when i play Sabbath solos lol.

I pretty much wrote my own for paranoid, N.I.B, and War Pigs.

Yea I do improv on all those but I think N.I.B is my best work, well and that that song is fun as hell to play.

Brew 02-24-2005 04:21 PM

I improvise the bass solos to NIB.

pigonthewing82 02-24-2005 04:24 PM

I love improv, even if its sh1tty improv. Whats the fun in learning a song if you don't add your own thing to it. I find that Black Sabbath are an easy band to add improv to.
