I tried out my first BOTAR stencil the other day on an old crappy shirt. I did one side with just the guitar logo, then I finished making the stencils for the letters, then I did the other side with the logo and the letters. The wings came out good, but the guitar was pretty bad. The letters all came our okay except for the R.

No pictures, so this is kinda pointless.
Well i mean hows he get his sound?
and like i said, you may have better luck in the abss forum, because that's where those sorts of questions are supposed to be asked, and that's where they're more likely to be answered. and it's not a DIY question because it's not really about making your own clothes or food or doing anything that people normally pay someone else to do. that's what DIY is.
I have a question actually.
Has anyone made a spray paint stencil?
I'm guessing it would be much larger than a regular print out. ^_^
Directions/Help on making it?
I saw a wall near my local super cool hipster coffee shop, and someone painted "Oi!" blah blah blah punk crap on it.
And I thought it would be cool to actually paint something cool.
I make stencils, it aint all that hard. I don't got any pictures of stencils i've done, but here's the next one I'ma do, finished the computer part the other night:

Ye need to work on preventing that overspray, and the underspray on the bars.

Anarchy&Peace 08-09-2005 02:58 PM

so my hawks been growing out how can i cut the sides shorter without cutting them all the way off? or would it be easier to shave the sides and let them grow out?

i've always done my stencils by free hand. i guess i never thought of doing the obvious by using a print out. great idea.

Yeah, print-outs usually work better for tougher designs. Though getting larger images is usually alot tougher, as ye have to print multiple pages of sections just for one design, but it's usually worth it.

Somehow I thought that this hair wasn't crazy enough, so I mohawk'd it out of complete boredom and insomnia.

Culture Shock 08-09-2005 11:14 PM

man, your hair is insane.

real_low_mind 08-10-2005 01:40 PM

it's maniacal.

i have a question. i'm getting a denim jacket & i want to make it white. i guess you bleach it. but i've never done it before so just making sure.
(& can you make it black by the way?) no idea.

cheeser_1 08-10-2005 02:37 PM

you can get fabric dye, i've never used fabric dye so i don't know how you'd go about using it, but it should have instructions. hit up a fabric store or something and check it out.

cattleprodska 08-10-2005 03:28 PM

just spray paint it white a bunch of times

Brain Toad 08-10-2005 03:32 PM

You may need more than 1 box of fabric dye, unless they come in bigger boxes my dad has used to dye other things.

Bleach could work, it'll give it a different kind of white, and may be a bit spotty.

guns_of_brixton 08-11-2005 12:35 AM

Bleach may look like misguided semen that found it's way to your jacket. I'd ssay go with the fabric dye.

I started a mini-trend of guys wearing white jeans at school .

Why! Why!! would you start a trend like that.. Whyyy!!! White Jeans... C mon... WHY!!

Feel The Darkness 08-11-2005 08:18 AM

For those suggestions of just using dye to dye that denim, it ain't gonna work, ye gotta bleach it well before ye can dye it. If ye use black dye it'll just make it purple. Hell, Dickies has a good black denim jacket for $30, but yea, ye gotta realize blue is denims natural color, so bleaching is the only way to get it white. Spraypaint is too tricky a method, something involving spraying, than washing, than spraying again, somethign along those lines. I say just bleach it. Just read the bleach's instruction, I'm sure it says how much to use for a denim jacket, if not, google it.

:amaze:

No offense, but are ye retarded? Conflict is a vegan band, yet ye insist on writing their lyrics on your leather jacket?

Brain Toad 08-13-2005 04:03 PM

Conflict aren't against leather if you had already bought it, before you went vegan. They still have their leather stuff I think. At least someone said that, probably Dave. They don't want the thing going to waste.

But it seems kind of stupid to write their lyrics on a leather jacket.

Thats on the inside of 'Increase the pressure'. I dont think any of conflict are vegan, im pretty sure 1 or 2 of em aint even veggie. But its all about freedom of choice with Conflict innit.

Yeah, I know that, although ye gotta consider a few things:

1) This dude probably isn't vegan.

2) I'd think it's safe to say that jacket is fairly new

...but than again, I may be wrong. Nonetheless I still think it dumb to write Conflict lyrics or their logo on a leather.
Thats on the inside of 'Increase the pressure'. I dont think any of conflict are vegan, im pretty sure 1 or 2 of em aint even veggie. But its all about freedom of choice with Conflict innit.
I'm pretty sure some of 'em are vegan, or were. Either way, a band that fights for animal rights and supports the ALF shouldn't deserve to have their lyrics or logo written on a leather.

Scabies 08-13-2005 04:17 PM

I've seen many a Conflict logo on leather jackets, thinking about it....

As have I, but it pisses me off when I see it. Also, when my friends went to go see 'em, a bunch of mohawk'd, leather-bound punks sang along during the animal rights songs. Bunch of idiots.

ahahaha wow cheeser said something funny

me likes punk 08-13-2005 04:44 PM

I have taken into consideration to the fact that Conflict is a veggie band, but if you'd chill out for two minutes and read the lyrics to the song you'll notice it has nothing to do with vegetarianism sp? and it's more about freedom and coporate bull****.

P.S. the jacket was purchased a year ago at a pawn shop and given to me.

Culture Shock 08-13-2005 09:18 PM

That was me by the way. Yeah, I have seen some Conflict stuff painted on leather jackets but I think we should take into consideration that some vegan jackets look pretty close to real leather jackets.

Culture Shock 08-13-2005 09:21 PM

Not saying that there aren't hypocrites out there, cause there's plenty. Just something to take into consideration.

RudeBoyStompin 08-13-2005 10:18 PM

Why is it that in many of your opinions a person can't listen to or support a band unless he/she agrees with EVERYTHING they stand for. Not every single Conflict song is about animal rights and its his jacket he can write what he da.mn well wants on it.

And for the record I am a vegetarian.
