They're pretty damned br00tal right now. And that video where the singer breaks his mic and still screams over the drums and guitar is fucking insane.

RetiredAt21 04-26-2006 01:51 PM

That video is pretty much the coolest thing I have ever seen.

XxcheetoxX 04-26-2006 07:21 PM

Does anyone have that video? I wanna see it so badly.

Liebensaft 04-26-2006 07:25 PM

It's shared among a lot of people on soulseek if you want to download it. Here's a youtube link.

RetiredAt21 04-27-2006 10:21 AM

I wish I could do vocals, but I think I sound like s'hit.

Angry Balled Fists! 04-27-2006 10:46 AM

Oh yeah i've seen that video.

And LOL at one of the band members being called Brian Harvey, wasn't he in some kind of mid 90's british boy band ?

Oh yeah, and Natasha is wierd, i bought the CD, and i thought it would be like a proper dvd, it's kinda odd.

Neoteric 04-27-2006 02:45 PM

I downloaded some Pig Destroyer, it hurts my ears after a while but it is still some good grind.

Gnarmageddon 04-27-2006 03:18 PM

Hahaha, you get used to it after a while.

whiteminority 04-28-2006 05:58 AM

So I got the Pig Destroyer 7" pic disc yesterday, and it is fucking awesome. They did a cover of The Stooges which is fucking great.

RetiredAt21 04-28-2006 10:54 AM

Which Stooges song?

whiteminority 04-28-2006 05:06 PM

Down in the Street. It's funny where there would be lyrics they have printed Figure them out. We had to.

RetiredAt21 04-30-2006 01:02 PM

Is it a good cover?

whiteminority 04-30-2006 01:51 PM

Yeah.

RetiredAt21 04-30-2006 01:57 PM

Do you guys like PysOpus?

Gnarmageddon 04-30-2006 02:04 PM

RetiredAt21 04-30-2006 02:20 PM

Subvert_bassist 05-02-2006 10:04 AM

PsyOpus is pretty good.

So, this Sunday, there's a show:

Tragedy
Born/Dead
Witch Hunt
Deathtoll

How fun, eh?

Feel The Darkness 05-02-2006 09:06 PM

I just bought my tickets for Chaos in Tejas.

SO STOKED!!!

Neoteric 05-03-2006 11:19 AM

Anyone like The Locust? It's still grind but a bit different.

AIRIC 05-03-2006 02:13 PM

I like them but I like the Great Redneck Hope more.

Greg Ginn 05-03-2006 03:08 PM

What is grind???

Brain Toad 05-03-2006 03:10 PM

Greg Ginn 05-03-2006 03:25 PM

hmmmmmmmmm, I see. Well hardcore is good but punk doesn't always have to be fast though!!! Plus what's the difference between that and metalcore???

Brain Toad 05-03-2006 03:36 PM

http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11369988#post11369988

I don't see how punk not always having to be fast has anything to do with grindcore. Grind is always fast.

The difference is metalcore is metal influenced hardcore, while grind is just hardcore taken to it's most extreme level played really fast, etc.

Metalcore isn't very good.

Ok that's cleared then but it said that Grindcore fused with metal later on though!

Gnarmageddon 05-03-2006 03:53 PM
Ok that's cleared then but it said that Grindcore fused with metal later on though!
It got more technical. If you listen to old stuff like Napalm Death, Assuck, etc., it sounds like a lot of noise with heavy riffs and drums. Nowadays, there's stuff with a lot more complicated guitar playing and such.

Greg Ginn 05-03-2006 04:03 PM

So Grind is hardcore punk but faster, I've heard some Napalm Death before and I thought it sounded very metally!

Gnarmageddon 05-03-2006 04:06 PM
So Grind is hardcore punk but faster, I've heard some Napalm Death before and I thought it sounded very metally!
Grind ≠ Fast hardcore punk.

It's hard to describe, just listen to it. You will know it's grind when you're being punched in the face.

Greg Ginn 05-03-2006 04:09 PM

Ok, I'll give it a try!

Feel The Darkness 05-03-2006 05:03 PM
So Grind is hardcore punk but faster, I've heard some Napalm Death before and I thought it sounded very metally!
You probably heard newer ND. They're basically just death metal now, but they still rule.

clustifux 05-03-2006 08:38 PM

I cant find Napalms first album when they were a hardcore punk band.. Ive been listinin to Long live the code for the past 3 days now and im still not bored.

AIRIC 05-03-2006 08:48 PM

Their first album was Scum and that was straight up grind.

Times Ten 05-03-2006 10:26 PM

Anyone listen to Sayyadina?

clustifux 05-03-2006 10:49 PM

Not scum..their original demo. Before they were a grind band they were a hardcore punk band.

Noiseterrorist 05-04-2006 10:07 AM

hatred surge demo. for the songs on it for the most part are a few tracks off of scum w/o blastbeats and slower. still good, although the constant feedback in every song may seem a bit anooying at first

Liebensaft 05-04-2006 01:34 PM

Anyone ever heard of Dead to Fall or Death to Fall or something like that? My neighbor that gave me a ride home today had them playing in his car and it sounded thrashy/grind-ish.

whiteminority 05-04-2006 02:11 PM
Anyone ever heard of Dead to Fall or Death to Fall or something like that? My neighbor that gave me a ride home today had them playing in his car and it sounded thrashy/grind-ish.
Dead to Fall is a sorta mediocre metal band from Chicago. They're one of those bands that get labeled metalcore but they are just metal with breakdowns. Not grind at all.
