check that blog for it^^

JonM 01-23-2007 03:53 PM

Liberation is boring. I should have expected that.

sgrevs 01-23-2007 05:05 PM

I really like it. But maybe its just because I really like Madlib and Talib and make myself like the collab.

Rams 01-23-2007 06:52 PM

The more Mobb Deep I hear the less interested I am in them. The Infamous... kind of sucks.

magicbus 01-23-2007 10:45 PM

"Got It Twisted" has such a good beat. Probably the coolest thing ever.

antiant 01-23-2007 11:01 PM

the infamous is a classic, it's just raw, exactly what hip hop is, among other things of course...was listening to the infamous recently today ;)

Lunch 01-23-2007 11:20 PM

Yea, I really liked the Infamous.

sgrevs 01-24-2007 03:24 AM

wow what an awesome site.

thanks perri.

Edit: Dammit it's just for listening, not for download. How disappointing.

sgrevs 01-24-2007 04:08 AM

By the way Kyle, i'm about half way through listening to Deadringer, and it's very very good so far, thanks a lot.

What are RJD2's collab's like?

ATM 01-24-2007 06:24 AM

What collab specifically were you curious about?

JonM 01-24-2007 07:36 AM
The more Mobb Deep I hear the less interested I am in them. The Infamous... kind of sucks.
Is there anything in particular that you think sucks about it? Because I'm really interested to hear what one could possibly object to about that record.

Iai 01-24-2007 07:57 AM

I kinda like Liberation. It's not amazing, and it's not worth more than about 3 listens, but I still think it's pretty good.

Kyle 01-24-2007 08:17 AM
I kinda like Liberation. It's not amazing, and it's not worth more than about 3 listens, but I still think it's pretty good.
Yeah this is pretty much what I think. Both guys are capable of much better, but it's not a bad listen by any means.
By the way Kyle, i'm about half way through listening to Deadringer, and it's very very good so far, thanks a lot.

What are RJD2's collab's like?
No worries. I'm not too sure about the collabs, which exactly are you referring to?

Rams 01-24-2007 11:28 AM

Sounds like a rip off of Enta Da Stage with less depth to the production and a worse MC.

RJ's beats aren't very good with rappers. His collab with Aceyalone should be better than it is, but neither the production or lyrics sound inspired. His collab with Blueprint is borderline unlistenable as Blueprint does a bad job with what he's given. I'd stick with his solo work.

JonM 01-24-2007 11:43 AM

Well I guess I better see about this Enta Da Stage, then.

perriwinkle 01-24-2007 12:02 PM
Sounds like a rip off of Enta Da Stage with less depth to the production and a worse MC.
These dudes don't sound anything like Mobb Deep, but it is fucking dope, though.

I don't see the similarities between Mobb Deep and Black Moon, but it's probably because I associate diferent imagery with the two. I love both albums, but I think Infamous is better.

The only similarity is that they're both old and good.

LF96 01-25-2007 12:44 PM

I kinda like the new RJD2. It's not up to par with his previous albums and the style is mad different but I like it nonetheless. Dude can actually sing pretty well.

So, there's a new Wu-Tang Clan album coming out called 'The 8 Diagrams'. Could be interesting, although the two previous Wu albums were rather mediocre in my opinion.

Rams 01-25-2007 02:20 PM

new Sean Price is really good.

The Infamous sounds too much like an Evil Dee production without his bas lines for me to get past it.

Robert Crumb 01-26-2007 01:17 AM

Price is solid. I really need to get ahold of a retail version, though.

Rams 01-26-2007 10:53 AM

Here's the retail version of Jesus Price Superstar. I like the beats a lot more than those on Monkey Barz and Sean is at his usual self.

hey guys i have a favor to ask of anyone willing:

me and some friends are throwing a kegger tonight and im putting together the playlist right now. i'd like to get some eric b & rakim on there but all i've got is the song Don't Sweat the Technique. if someone could put a cd up on sendpace or something id be really grateful, or maybe just like a zip of songs you think would be good for a party.

so far on the mix i've got about a half and half hip hop - rock and other ratio going, and the hip hop is mostly del, hieroglyphics, atmosphere, cannibal ox, aesop rock, a tribe called quest, dangerdoom, non prophets and some other stuff. so if you have any suggestions or if you wanna put up something other than eric b & rakim it would all be appreciated.

thanks a ton

Thonk 01-26-2007 09:12 PM

The new RJD2 is pretty sick. I love Murs Beat.
