lets lay off the guy a little bit. id like to remind everyone that hes only 20 and relatively inexperienced in life, and as he gets older will only get more kick ***, musically and vocally.

Nepenthe 10-10-2006 09:52 PM

Oh I think he makes pretty good music, but he's a bit of a tard.

DKMode 10-11-2006 12:13 AM

hes a complete lame *** as a person, i wont deny that. his bandmates are far cooler. i just dont see how his aesthetics have any relevance in this forum.

Huber 10-11-2006 12:23 AM

Everytime I've met Trivium (only twice but whatev) Corey and Paulo have been so cool.

Drunken Viking 10-11-2006 12:33 AM

What about Matt and Travis?

Huber 10-11-2006 12:45 AM

Matt didn't say more than "thank you", which really is what you should expect from meet and greets but compared to Paulo and Corey it seemed odd. Travis was almost the same way, but said a few more words like "Hey" and "Whats up"

Corey and Paulo were awesome. Complimenting my Pantera shirt, told me to enjoy the poster I bought, asked if I needed anything else autographed, etc... It's nice when the band members don't just kinda shove you off like your apart of an assembly line.

Drunken Viking 10-11-2006 12:47 AM

That kinda what happened with Behemoth, all of them shook my hand and said a few words. Except Nergal and I actually had a small conversation. The line for Trivium was massive though.

Huber 10-11-2006 12:50 AM

Dude, when I met Behemoth it was ****ing amazing. I was like 3rd in line and the two ahead of me had the free posters the give you just so you have something to get signed. I had brought a copy of Demigod to get signed and when I put it on the table they were like "This guy bought something!" and they were so funny and cool. All of them told me to enjoy Demigod and to have a great time for the rest of the night, shook my hand. They were pretty awesome.

So basically, buy the album.

Grumma 10-11-2006 12:54 AM
Contempt Breeds Contamination sounds like a song from a band called.....Nevermore maybe?
Theres also a song on there that reminds me of the intro to the Demons & Wizards song "Excalibur" lol

But other then that I like the new album muchly :)

Yeah, this is pretty much my position on Heafy. What Ive heard of the Crusade isnt Ascendancy standard, but theres actually some good stuff on it.

Drummer300btx 10-11-2006 05:19 PM

I bought the crusade yesterday. I'm impressed. not like anything i've really heard before. sounds like its... metal. i dont realyl know how descirbe it. i like it though.

MRDuCran 10-11-2006 05:22 PM

Their full set is up on some Download website. It's all pro shot too.

RockGuitarist501 10-11-2006 07:34 PM

i bought the crusade today and i havent really stopped listening to it. i think its a great album. alot diffrent from Asendency, but still good. my favorites so far are Detonation, Sadness will sear, to the rats, this world cant tear us apart, tread the floods, and contemp breeds contamination. good stuff.

im going to go see trivium in Detroit this saturday. saw them last year at the same place and they kicked ***. cant wait. :)

DKMode 10-13-2006 12:08 AM

so at first i thought the crusade was a very average metal record, but i gotta say that its been in my CD player in my car since i bought it, and ive probably listened to it 7 or 8 times the whole way through since tuesday when i bought it. its a very good CD. also, the more i listen to it, the more i realize that it really isnt that much of a metallice rip off at all. the only song that even resembles metallica is unrepentant where the riff is basically the same as through the never, but other than that the music is very similar to ascendancy. i think initially hearing matt heafy singing like hetfield and not screaming made people think it sounded alot more like metallica than it actually does.

playguitar 10-13-2006 12:42 AM

Now, I really don't get why people say Heafy sounds like Hetfield. They really sound nothing alike to me, besides the fact that they sing cleanly. It's funny, one band sings cleanly nowadays, and the singer "sounds like Hetfield." That's bull. Early Hetfield has a much a more rough around the edges voice, and actually tries to sing less, whereareas it seems like Heafy tries to sing everything now, not really having the shorter bark Hetfield is known for. I don't like Trivium, and they don't sound like Metallica. And it seems very strange that a band would play it's old songs with such an extreme change as making the vocals singing instead of screaming, it sounds very wierd, and if I were a fan I'd be dissapointed, and angry. Play the song as it was written, look at Metallica, when Hetfield started to "sing."

Apocalyptic Raids 10-13-2006 02:07 AM

I could hear the '90s Hetfield-isms in the new song I heard.

Huber 10-13-2006 02:24 AM

I can definetly hear the Hetfield, but IMO it worked for em'.

I'm glad he's not screaming anymore. Do you know how many shows Matt was ****ing up at because screaming was totally ****ing up his voice?

Yeah, Ive seen them live twice and Matt was having to get Corey and co. to elp him out a lot.

Crysiss 10-13-2006 09:01 AM

Matts vocals wouldnt bug me as much if I didnt know that theyre trying to be the next metallica.

SixStringKing 10-13-2006 10:55 AM

Trivium in detroit tomorrow w00t VIP tickets and such, and yeah matts voice has improved alot, and yeah corey and paolo( SP ) (lawlz) help matt out alot in concert, but its only for dual parts.

SixStringKing 10-15-2006 12:57 AM

Trivium Fvcking Rocked so damn hard tonight... Everyone should also check out, SWORD.. they were really good classic style (sabbath) metal

Huber 10-15-2006 01:03 AM

Good to hear it man. I'm seeing them on the 29th.

Irons_rock 10-15-2006 05:05 AM

I think that their new albums good but the worst so far out of there albums.
Matts vocals wouldnt bug me as much if I didnt know that theyre trying to be the next metallica.
As long as I have been listening to them, they dont remind me at all of metallica.

SixStringKing 10-15-2006 09:04 PM

its basically impossible for them not to remind you of metallica when unrepentant is THROUGH THE NEVER... but hey i still love trivium, AND I GOT MY PICTURE TAKEN WITH THEM LIKE OMGZZZZ

Forlorn Hope 10-15-2006 09:12 PM

I like all of Triviums albums, but it annoys me how since Matt stopped screaming, all of the screaming parts of their old songs are changed live, and I think that completely ruins the older songs. He does the Hetfield thing, which I like, but not for the parts that were written for screaming.

Luckily I can easily avoid that by simply listening to the album instead :)

SixStringKing 10-15-2006 10:00 PM

well.. corey screams live.. so its okay ( at least he did all the screaming for pull harder, ascendancy, like light to flies, and ember to inferno in DET) Matt managed to belt out Gunshot

i am the robots 10-15-2006 10:08 PM

Corey's screaming is even more laughable than Matt's tbh, it's hilarious.

Yeah I'll give you that. I've never seen them live, but I'd love to. I think my current favorite song is Tread The Floods.:thumb:

I thought Matt ruptured his voice box or something and thats why he cant scream anymore?
