Holy...

This just keeps getting better and better, Bomb the Music Industry! Mustard Plug and now Streetlight. What a month.
Wait... are BTMI playing the UK?

Henrik 09-15-2006 11:49 AM

Is Skachilles down forever now?

If so, that's a shame.

the-UK-ska-scene 09-18-2006 11:39 AM
Wait... are BTMI playing the UK?
Yeah Household Name are bringing Ska Is Dead to the UK in November/December. Mustard Plug/Planet Smashers/Bomb The Music Industry + UK guests on one tour, I thought Big D were meant to be playing that but maybe I was mistaken.

And yeah, to the person above me I think we can pretty much assume Skachilles is gone now. Bandwidth was obviously costing an arm and a leg.

Henrik 09-18-2006 01:22 PM

Wow, that sucks... I liked that site. And it was a good way for new listeners to get some rar stuff.

That was pretty much the line up for the U.S. dates last year except it was The Toasters instead of Bomb the Music Industry. Our line up was better.:p

_lower_class_brat_ 09-19-2006 03:22 AM

so do any of you know about any info on Streetlight's or BOTAR's new albums?

i'm guessing this is a joke, no?

Henrik 09-20-2006 11:22 AM

A not funny joke... I was bored.

But no, they haven't said anything new about any of the upcomming albums. Streetlight are playing some new songs live though.

streetlight1039 09-20-2006 03:28 PM

when i saw streetlight on the reel big fish mxpx tour tomas made the same bad joke saying the cd would be out next week and then said just kidding... he got booed for a few minutes and coninually apologized.

FauxApathy 09-20-2006 07:42 PM

At the show I saw, he said it was available at the merch booth. So of course, everyone started crowding the booth, and then he got booed and apologized.

He said it would be out in a few months after that. But it's been two months or so, and nothing doing. :upset:

I've got news for you. He lied to you again. And you fell for it. Again.

Henrik 09-21-2006 09:20 AM

Haha. I have a feeling they won't tell us until there's about a month before the release.

Mild_child 09-25-2006 05:38 PM

What's the best song on "A Call to Arms"?

FauxApathy 09-25-2006 06:10 PM

Here's to Life is my favorite.

Catchthe22 09-25-2006 09:02 PM

I like Wonderful Life.

Catchthe22 09-26-2006 09:41 PM

Streetlight is on the tour with Reel Big Fish this Fall 2006. Others are Suburban Legends and Westbound Train. Not a bad line-up at all. Happy to see two great ska bands touring together again.

Ghostfire3 09-26-2006 09:55 PM

Reel Big Fish are by no means a great ska band. In fact they are awful. Streetlight is OK. Westbound Train is the best band out of the ones you named.

AIRIC 09-26-2006 10:04 PM

Westbound Train are so sweet live.

i'm going to the show in saskatoon!:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Westbound Train are so sweet live.
Hell yeah they are! You've seen them too? I saw them with Big D and Voodoo Glowskulls and they stole the show. I'm not really a Bid D or Voodoo Glowskulls fan though. And of course they got the least response from the crowd because everyone was there for the 3rd wave ska-punk sound. But me and my friends were getting real into it when Westbound Train was playing and people were just staring at us.

AIRIC 09-27-2006 06:54 PM

Yeah I think I saw them at the same show. It was really sweet man. I just got in from smoking and then they came on and I was so pumped for being a trad band.

I really enjoy 3rd wave when i can get into it (I'm noit really a big fan anymore), but a band that wasn't 3rd wave at ska is dead was awesome and being high at the same time made it a perfect set. I would definintely see them again.

"They Provide the paint for the picture perfect masterpiece that you will paint on the inside of your eyelids" is my favorite.
But there are 5 songs on it, so give them all a solid listen.

AIRIC 09-28-2006 09:11 AM

Yeah the whole EP is awesome.

Henrik 09-28-2006 09:14 AM

I often skip the intro though.

Catchthe22 09-28-2006 10:24 AM

I would put streetlight and rbf before westbound, but i am actually a fan of most of the 3rd wave stuff. I like westbound too; too bad they ditched coming to my local venue.

Ghostfire3 09-28-2006 09:42 PM
i haven't heard of Wsetbound Train, what songs should i check out?
Well if you like Traditional Ska then I would recommend them to you. As for songs I'm not really sure. I would just download or buy an album by them. They are really fun to dance to live though.

That's not really stealing the show then is it?

Stealing the show is when Motion City Soundtrack open for Rufio or the Suburban Legends open for Reel Big Fish.
