Fuck crews. Sean Ingram said it best when he referred to them as gangs. I went to a show tonight just to see my friend's band play some songs before I had to go to work, and then I left. I wish I had stuck around, because this happened:'
my band played a show tonight...and of course...there was a stupid hardcore krew there...during one of the earlier bands, our friend jeff went out to pit, and as he pushed one guy off, *a member of the krew* the guy answered back with a punch in the head...where the hell is the justice in that...and it continued....during earn your keep, a friend of our band, matt, went circle pitting to have a good time...and as he did it....a member of a krew there kicked him as he went by...well matt went around the circle and he came back and kicked the guy back...and yea...we saw the true side of a hardcore krew....at least 6 of them jumped matt and beat him up...he got a gash on the side of his head..and blood was all over the side of his face...well my friend Brian defended matt, and told the krew how stupid that was to do that...and the krew didn't take kindly to his words...they started talking **** to brian, and eventually he just went inside the house...so the rest of us started loading up our ****, and various krew members started coming up to us saying "we need to have a word with your bassist"....so this continued...and brian stayed in the house....so we're out there standing near the truck and all 15+ of their krew came up to 3 of us, and started saying, "were giving you an option, you're friend comes out and fights us 1 on 1 *even though that's an effin joke in itself*, or he doesn't fight, and we're gonna go around telling ppl your band sucks and you're a bunch of pussies"...there was no way in hell we were going to let brian fight these guys...so we waited around..and eventually brian came out we jumped in his truck, and drove off....so all i have to say is this..hardcore krews are the worst thing to ever happen to this genre..they're no better than common street gangs, and all they do is take away the fun of a show, and dish out violence to kids who they don't like......there's nothing beneficial to what they do at all.....they only cause problems...isn't it funny how when hardcore krews are together they are tough, yet as soon as they're by themselves, they aren't tough at all, and always say sorry after they hit someone in the pit....some day....there's gonna be a rise of positive thinking and anti-krew kids...and only then will we finally see a group of kids who stand up to these krews and get them to stop...until then though....the hardcore scene is going to be ruined by these kids....i'll end this by quoting something tonight, this is what one of the krew kids said to me "he disrespected us"...well guess what, you don't deserve it.
I'm ready for blood. I would've gotten creamed because I'm a small guy, but I don't even care. |
hXc crews suck
wrong, not all bridges are breakdowns
breakdown : A bridge, with heavy cymbals, the guitar riff is slowed down, These parts of songs are great for hardcore dancing, thats why its usually done in hardcore and metalcore.
oh. i always thought breakdowns were the chugga chugga bits. we dont have hardcore crews in the uk. what kinda kids are they? like the tough guy ones? |
No. There are different.. "kinds".. as with any trendy train to roll along - Emo "but still hardcore" kids, christian "hardcore", and then lots of other kinds of "Hardcore" (some is basically nu-metal bands with really bad screaming and growling), blah blah. The most annoying are the straight edge christian ones. I hate what the term Hardcore has come to mean these days. Blah.
|
I still don't understand what a breakdown is. Could someone post a link to a song, and then where the breakdown is found?
|

Well...if they're in a crew that attacks people in a pit for no reason, then they are most likely the tough guy sort. |
there was a terror show last night with unearth headlining, black dahlia murder and remembering never opening. From what i hear, everything went fine until terror came on, then there were 4 fights, including an older guy getting his face bashed in and ambulances coming and shutting down the show. Terror played 4 songs, but in that time span, 4 major fights happened. Unearth didn't even get to play.
Thanks to the crews, i have a billion friends who are too scared to see bands like terror, because how many crews back them up and how many fights go down at their shows. |
Hahah, I wanted to go to that show, but didn't have a ride.
http://www.thenjscene.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=98779 Thats a thread about the show from the local area. The same show is tonight in NYC. At hellfest the crowd during Terror was fine. Like a 10 year old could have been in there 2 stepping. There have been a couple big shows where FSU starts showing up here recently. |
yeah, i was right next to the pit during terror at hellfest, it was fine. Did you hear about posi numbers fest during terror though?
|
Nah, I didn't hear anything about Posifest. I wanted to go to that aswell, but was to far away.

|

|
Are you seeing them tonight? They're playing with The Banner.
i can't. Hopefully they will play in NYC when I'm on vacation from school. I've been listening to them nonstop recently. |
My friend got some brass from Mexico...I'm gonna steal them and take them to every show.
|
as for the FSU **** last night, one of the kids on the Thrice board posted this: http://board.thrice.net/showthread.php?t=25735. i think it's worth the read.
|
wow, that is really fucked

Yeah, the NYC show is Tues. My bad. It sucks because some good venues have been closed down in the past year or two so a bunch of shows are starting to happen in these towns which come close to be classified as a ghetto. At The Red Line's last show the lead singer got mugged right behind the venue. It's getting pathetic. |
Oh ****, wtf... FSU needs to die.
|
They had a purpose when they first came together......

Not anymore, I know they got the nazi skinheads out of the scene, but they just beat random people now. |
3rd wave emo - post-hardcore/emocore/melodic hadcore (Poison the Well, Thursday, Thrice, alexisonfire)
Yo... I didn't bother reading the whole 99 pages but I was wondering is he right? What about these MTV-friendly bands like the ones listed there and bands such as the Used, Atreyu, Finch, From Autumn to Ashes, Funeral for a Friend, A Static Lullaby? I've been wondering for the longest time what they are considered. Power pop? Help? |
