RHCP were only good in the 80s and early 90s imo. So you can;t really call them classic rock but you can't call their good stuff current. I don't really care, they rule.
I dunno, I guess it depends on your taste. I like all of their stuff, from their start to right now. Can't Stop is one of my favorite songs. |
Does anyone really want a new Led Zeppelin though. Come on! You know I'm not a fan, but don't you want something new and outrageous that will bring back the old days?
Soundgarden...The next L.Z., The Black crowes...The Next L.Z. Now where are they? Barely anywhere. Give us a new Janis Joplin or something, that'd be better.
Actually I'd rather new days! :thumb: Just like people like people such as clapton loved the blues and emulated it, but they still did something new with it, made it their own, that's what I want to do (just with slightly different music). That is afterall what created the whole scene. |
Tommorow I'm going to buy something from Derek Trucks, anyone have any recomendations?
My dad would know but off the top of my head I couldn't tell ya. Sorry. EDIT: Looked throught the cd collection and I found one called Joyful Noise, but don't know how it is. Also I found a Jeff Healy Band cd. |
My dad and friends got me back into classic rock. I only have 3 bands I like to listen to and thats.
Creedance Clearwater Revival Steve Miller Band Journey Yep.. |

Isn't everyone sick of people asking for a Classic Rock revival?
The only good revival band to ever catch fame was The Stray Cats. So, I doubt bands like Jet  are going to live up to that, and "Bring" C.R. to the mainstream. Speaking of The Stray Cats, who likes them? |
They're all great. But, start it from the begining. Get s/t.
|
^^^Waiting for the Sun. It's the most underrated Doors album. I like it as much as their debut. Listen to Not To Touch The Earth and you will agree. But since you are new to them, I suggest their debut.
|
^^Six, not including the live albums. After you get those two, them get LA Woman. Its their second most popular album. Its also got Riders on the Storm, which is THE greatest song ever.
|
I'd get LA woman... that's my favorite doors album...
|
all i've got is the best of, 2 disk set. I feel like i'm missing out on so much but what to do? There are other albums I need first.
|
Waiting for the Sun probably doesn't have many songs on the greatest hits except for Hello, I Love You. Its a great album, but it isn't too radio friendly.

that's how i started and now they're one of my top 5 favorite bands.
|

prolly was but still a great singer and frontman |
and he was :naughty: i'd hit it.
|
a musical genius, but he was a crazy a**hole
|
I bet he got a lot of pussy though. We all know lead singers of classic rock bands got a ton of pussy :thumb:
|
I've tried to find out what I can of Jim's personality but it seems undoable at this point.

Classic rock is definetly making a comeback sue to a revival of 70's style, I am 16 and all I listen to is classic rock. I started with Led Zeppelin, and then moved into later stuff like Ac/Dc, Iron Maiden, and Metallica. I grew Tired of Metallica and turned to metal's roots and started listening to bands like Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. I recently attended Ozzfest last week (for Judas Priest and Black Sabbath), and noticed that the secondary stage, (slipknot and newer bands) contained the majority of the young people at the event, but the main stage had all the 50 year-olds that went to Priest and sabbath concerts thirty years ago.
People need to spread the word about how great classic rock is, and how much rap sucks. |
i consider the beatles rock n roll, not really hard rock...nonetheless, a great band though.
Of Course "TheBeatles" is rock"n"roll, the beatles is classic rock, and will be nothing else than wat it is and wat it has become! i love the beatles :naughty: |

Hey I listen to Classic Rock all the time, its all i listen too, rock this rock that, rock everything, hey i wanna go to this deep purple concert september 14, i wanted to go to this Alice Cooper concert thats october 13th but it was sold out!!! oh well ill have to win tickets by listening to 97.3 and win my way in, hehehe :naughty: |
Whenever people talk about classic rock they talk about bands like black sabbath and ACDC, but what about the all the other great bands that weren't so heavy. Bands like "The shadows" and "Creedance clearwater revival". After all, those are the sounds that bands these days are trying to recreate. Just listen to and songs by bands like the white stripes and the black keys and you'll hear the bluesy rock that i'm talking about. While i have great respect for Sabbath and everyone else, i think we should be praising the ones that came up with the whole idea of rock.
peace out. |
Oh dear.

Why rip on Jim? :upset:
