So I tried comparing SD and HD, and I could tell a difference. Pretty small though.

I pre ordered the ep lol.

There is an unbelievable difference between HD and SD. We figured that out watching the ball drop...Fox and Fox HD might as well have been 2 different channels.

So, we had my friend's birthday dinner at Outback Steakhouse tonight. Pretty fun, aside from the fact that when I was eating my dinner, I could not concentrate on anything. It was the scariest thing ever...I think they may have laced my food with drugs or something.

You wouldn't know if you had been drugged because you've never taken drugs.

I always think I like Agalloch; then I put on one of their records and realize I don't that much.

Part of why Agalloch appeals to me is thier ability to combine folky, dar, melodic stuff with metal.....

Meh, as long as the rest of the stuff is better than the new song.

that was one of the worst attempts at "dark folk" or any type of folk I have heard. Agalloch is not capable of creating this type of music and it really shows on that one track.

Strumming acoustic guitar chords does not folk make. Agalloch is lame.

I just think they're mediocre, just trying to piss off the Agalloch fanboys by calling them both bands bad. I mean I hardly listen to metal anymore as it is so don't be too suprised when I say I don't like a certain metal band.

I'm definitely an Agalloch fanboy. And this is very mediocre, especially for Agalloch. John Haughm can do so much better than this. Really I don't know what to say about this except I'm dissapointed.

Ashes Against The Grain and The Mantle are both amazing.

Pale Folklore is amazing too. Just in a very different way than AATG and The Mantle. That's what I like about Agalloch, every album can be special in its own way while still being distinctly Agalloch. This new song isn't anything special at all though. Its old recycled concepts and that's about it.

It feels kindof empty to me, like there's not enough substance to it...

That's probably cause there isn't any substance to it. After listening to the song multiple times now I'm really not impressed. I'm still hopeful though, I'll still pick the EP up for sure, it could still be good.
