I also discovered I have a Penny arcade addiction
I don't know whether this amount of time on here is a good thing or a bad thing
of course it's a bad thing! But I cant help it :upset: In fact I dont think I could do what Bartender did: staying at home without getting on the internet  !

Apocalyptic Raids 09-01-2005 07:42 AM
Florida, for a four week holiday, followed by a week sitting here at home without an internet connection.

What vinyl did you get?
Blind Illusion's The Sane Asylum. Les Claypool and Larry Lalonde playing metal! Even better, I got it for $8 Australian.

ATM 09-01-2005 07:53 AM

Hey Tender, good to see you back.

Arucard 09-01-2005 07:56 AM

Yeh, its good to see you back.

The true Lord Abortion keeps expressing his hate for Melodic Death Metal. Bastard.

Lord Abortion 09-01-2005 07:57 AM

What...
I don't hate it, I just prefer brutal death :p

Stoic 09-01-2005 07:59 AM

and LegionsofMarduk changed his avatar after 3 and half years!

Arucard 09-01-2005 08:01 AM

His new one is so funny though

I want it :( But my next avatar is Dark Throne : Soulside Journey :)

Stoic 09-01-2005 08:12 AM

yeah since people will call you goth if you wear it as a t-shirt

Arucard 09-01-2005 08:17 AM

...I hate you guys.

Bartender 09-01-2005 08:22 AM

It was good, yeah :)

Good to see you too. I would ask how you've been, but you're offline now.

I've not heard that, but I have heard Lalonde playing metal before, in Possessed.

ween2424 09-01-2005 08:44 AM

I am hungry.

Cain 09-01-2005 08:46 AM

Hey Bartender. Nice to see you!

I just downloaded Ghost Reveries.

EDIT: Off of iTunes. :o

Bartender 09-01-2005 08:50 AM
Hey Bartender. Nice to see you!
Good to see you too. I borrowed all the Bourne books from a library while I was away.. but then got caught up reading another book and didn't have time to read them.

EDIT: I'm away for a bit. Scrubs is on.

NJMetalMeister 09-01-2005 09:12 AM
Haha :p

In other news, I discovered a new cd store, it had loads of metal, nevertheless I bought:

Minor Threat - Complete discography
The best thing about that cd is that people always try to price it higher than it should be. On the back it says something along the lines of "Sell this CD for no more than $8", and then the price tag will say $18. However if you point that out to the clerk, they have to charge you whatever the price is on the back.

Lord Abortion 09-01-2005 09:13 AM

Balls, I'm writing my personal statement for Uni application, it's
as hard as hell, I can't think what to put...

"I spend thirteen hours of every day posting on http://www.musicianforums.com ?" is really going to have them come running...

Arucard 09-01-2005 09:17 AM

My God, funniest website ever. Its one of those dumb girl fan love stories, and its about Zacky Vengeance from A7X. Read it, im still laughing.

I spend 13 hours a day interacting and giving my opinions knowledge about extreme metal.
I perform a difficult yet very rewarding task by doing this, and it makes me feel like I'm making the world a better place.

if you put it like thta, it sounds good :p

I love the PA that was up on monday with the "Heat Miners" that was brilliant.

Lord Abortion 09-01-2005 09:32 AM

Yeah, that was awesome, PA is now my second favourite website behind MX

It's great

Arucard 09-01-2005 10:14 AM

Yah, 'tis.

I've found a new faverouite pastime : Bashing Americans on Halo 2. It is so much fun!

MBS 09-01-2005 10:16 AM

Hey, Bart's back!

:D

Jom 09-01-2005 10:19 AM

Bartender, I could have given you a brief overview of the goings-on since you left in July. Why you wanted to read back thousands of pages (people kind of forgot the no-spam thing you were enforcing by your second week of holiday) is beyond me, but hey.

How am I? Short answer: back at uni and not all that happy, heh.

So yeah. :)

Indian Rocks Beach..about half an hour's drive, over a really big causeway, from Tampa. In Pinellas county, I believe.

Penny Arcade is good. I prefer CAD, though.

Well, I ended up only reading a little bit, and skimming most of it. The last time I had to do six weeks catch up was last September, when far fewer people used the thread, and I underestimated the difference it would make :-/
How am I? Short answer: back at uni and not all that happy, heh.
Ah. How's your roommate this year? Or do you have one, even?

superpeer 09-01-2005 10:37 AM

Uploading some minor threat for my girlfriend, if anyone wants it

Minor Threat - Out of Step

Minor Threat - Guilty of Being White

And here's a Hüsker Dü song from Zen Arcade, if anyone wants it:

Jom 09-01-2005 10:39 AM

I have three roommates, and they're all phenonemal guys. They really bailed me out this year. I know two of them from class last year, and the third is a transfer from another uni. All three are from the same hometown.

We're all very relaxed and easy-going. Everyone has free reign over food, chores, and so on. The one exception food-wise is if you label it, and we all understand.

If you want, I took some pictures of the townhouse I'm living in this year and put it in a thread in The Pit. ikikdababy and I had a couple humorous exchanges, but that's not all that pressing, heh.

And I have not run into my roommate of last year, and I hope I never do. He's talked a lot of shit over the summer, but I've ignored him and not responded to anything. And if anything is to happen, I have a number of solutions to take care of the problem.

As far as classes go: a lot of writing this semester. At least it's not science-related things where there is a lot of memorization, but I hate writing lengthy papers. I have an international relations class (I think I've learned more about the world from Chapter 1 of our text than I have watching the news regularly), my Honors class is about the Holocaust, another American history class, a geography class, and a child development (psychology) class. All are either a) for my major and/or b) pre-professional certification for teaching.

Dancin' Man 09-01-2005 10:48 AM

Hey 'Tender. Nice to have you back.

Jom - Sounds like a pretty decent deal. I saw the pictures and looks more pleasant than a dorm.

clairvoyant 09-01-2005 11:00 AM

Minor Threat rocks, gotta love them.

I agree, I hate halo

Illmatic 09-01-2005 12:46 PM

Peter: It's much, much more pleasant than a dorm :upset:

Bart: Florida? Bleh...I hope you went fishing in the Keys, because that's the only good part of Florida. You should have gone to New York or Chicago or Boston or something.

Also, Green River won't work on my laptop for some reason :-\

EDIT: Meh, I like Halo and I prefer FPS on game systems because I don't have to run out and buy new upgrades for XBox when the newest games come out

Well we have a house in Florida, and friends and relatives (and a history, of sorts), so it makes more sense to go there. I like it there, though only as somewhere for a holiday. I definitely wouldn't like to live there. Anyway, I picked up your namesake album whilst there, for cheap.

Jom - sounds much better than last year, then. But then I wonder, why aren't you happy?

You've got me wondering who I'll be living with next year now, too.

Permanent Solution 09-01-2005 01:06 PM

Whoa, Bartender is back

/me is too lazy to read back too far, but gathers your vacation went well. Very cool.

Welcome back dude. :)

Yeah, going to Florida WOULD make sense.

The controls on an xbox are much more awkward than a keyboard and mouse, and you have less options for movement, aiming, and overall customisability (yes i just made that word up).

I mean when i play CS for example, i need to use over half my keyboard, but on an xbox controller there are only a very limited amount of buttons

I agree, i would never in a million years ever want to live in florida either.

I've never really had a problem with the controls on XBox, but then again I've never really played games on the PC with the exception of the old NBA Live and Triple Play games (and the PC controls SUCKED, give me an XBox controller any day plz)
