Yeah It's true. Cliff was one of James' best friends, it must've been hard on him.

Britton 11-11-2005 11:06 AM

I've heard they were like brothers

timmySmi 11-11-2005 03:27 PM

Oh my god guys what a gig so much energy from the crowd it was nerve racking. We played In a **** pub in are local area were all the goths, skaters, Metalheads go to see underground bands. We were on at 6pm supporting a signed band so we thought we'd light a fire under the crowds asse's and really get them going. My band Remmus is in the gentre of hard rock I'd say but we have being writting alot heavy tunes recently and laid into some of them. We played 2 Metallica covers because when we first got together thats all we played Metallica, RATM, Megadeth, Sabbath. First was 'Waste My hate,. Great song from Load I bloody gave it stakes hammering my strings to s@it. After we finished that the crowd were in love shouting **** like MOP!, Seek & Destroy!, Battery!. My singer Ross was like ok ok you like that **** hey! You wants some more don't you! YEAHHHHHHH! So then we just layed into Sad But True which went down nicely with the crowd during the start where you play the 0-7 chord I dropped my pick! so I had to play the whole song with my fingers I tryed the Gorrilla dance Rob does while playing which amused my Lead Guitarist as he was playing the solo!. Overall good crowd atmosphere and interaction I've ownly being with this band 5 weeks and I seem to be fitting in there all brilliant musicians but I think my Chrisma and knowledge of alot of Metallica songs have impressed em alot aswell.

Britton 11-11-2005 03:31 PM

Sounds good

Joe 11-11-2005 03:32 PM

That's awesome. My band might be having a gig in 2-3 weeks except the rest aren't big Metallica fans. I might be able to convince the other guys to play the middle of MOP with me just in between songs though.

BTW, i voted Metallica in that thread.

NP: Creeping Death - download festival

Don't worry about dropping your pick. If you've got a thing that hooks on the mic stand your good (i just bought one of those)

Britton 11-11-2005 03:34 PM

Yo Joe!

My band is having a gig on the 18th
then a couple huge talent/battle of the bands on january.

Maybe even a Tallica cover

Stormrider 11-11-2005 03:34 PM
When i went to see Dragonforce, as soon as the song 'Blackfire' kicked in the crowed just flew forward it took half the song to ragain your balance.

But there is always nice people in moshpits that pick you up if you fall down, unfortunatly there are also idiots who just want to hurt people:angry:
Thats what i meant by always having to look behind youre back.

Britton 11-11-2005 03:35 PM

When was that?

Joe 11-11-2005 03:36 PM

Awesome. I'm happy about this because my band is falling apart... but it's good we'll have a good gig.

The pit would suck, just because of that. I would love to be in it but I'd rather watch the show than have someone kill me in the process
The Memory Remains is my favorite from Re-Load.

Na na na na na... na na na na na. Na na na na, na na, na na na... na na na na na.

Love that outro.
Don't see you here much
question: do you guys prefer the unforgiven or the unforgiven II?
If i got to pick the setlist for a show right after kirk did a second solo in the unforgiven he would lead into II. I love them both, it's too bad they don't do II live.

Britton 11-11-2005 03:38 PM

Jom you are the bomb! we need you in here more.

The memory remains is awsome

Joe 11-11-2005 03:39 PM
Jom you are the bomb! we need you in here more.

It's not my favorite, but it's good. Fuel and Unforgiven II are the best (yea... bandwagon :upset: )

and Permanent Solution was here???

Britton 11-11-2005 03:40 PM

Haha

yea Fuel is one heck uvva song

I might go learn it tonight

Stormrider 11-11-2005 03:41 PM
When was that?
Well I never went to a pit ...in my other post I said if I would go to a gig. But anyways i was relating to some dvd's I saw and about being comfortable when you go at a gig and stuff.

Joe 11-11-2005 03:43 PM
Haha

I can do the intro and the verse, haven't tried the chorus, and the solo is easy but I don't remember it. I just don't have the urge to tune my guitar down just for this song... I might eventually.

np: Blurry by Puddle of Mudd??? no. Patience by GnR??? no. Sad But True from a bootlegged concert??? no. Fuel from S&M??? That sounds good.

Britton 11-11-2005 03:44 PM

Oh Okay cool.

So what are ya'll learning?

Joe 11-11-2005 03:46 PM
Oh Okay cool.

...And Justice for All. I just printed out the tabs last night. It's not as hard as I thought it was, but it's just so long. The solo isn't too bad.

Britton 11-11-2005 03:48 PM

It's alotta the same stuff over and over again. It's so beautifull

Stormrider 11-11-2005 03:52 PM
...And Justice for All. I just printed out the tabs last night. It's not as hard as I thought it was, but it's just so long. The solo isn't too bad.
That song is probably in my top 3 songs from that album.

I think the last song from Metallica that I learned was Whiplash, without the solos...should try them though. Although last time I checked them out they looked hard.

Britton 11-11-2005 03:54 PM

Most of them just involve speed.

Joe 11-11-2005 03:57 PM

I don't really try learning KEA songs. I know 2 of KEA, 5 of RTL, 4 of MoP, 1 of AJFA (more or less), 8 on the Black Album, none of Load, 2 of Reload, 2 of Garage Inc, none of St. Anger (but a few riffs)

not necessarily solos...:upset:

I'm not a big fan of Whiplash, but it is a good song

Stormrider 11-11-2005 03:58 PM
Most of them just involve speed.
My fretting hand isnt that fast...

Britton 11-11-2005 03:59 PM

I can't solo for my life

Stormrider 11-11-2005 04:01 PM

Yeah, soloing aint my strong point...

I realy like Whiplash. I have a soft spot for KEA for some reason.

Britton 11-11-2005 04:03 PM

I like the "Raw" feel of it

Joe 11-11-2005 04:05 PM
I like the "Raw" feel of it
You mean like the quality is bad and the vocals are thrashy?

Britton 11-11-2005 04:07 PM

Both. How the production isn't that great and all...I guess I just really
like the young Tallica that was out to seek and destroy

Stormrider 11-11-2005 04:08 PM

All the songs from the album are good IMO. Even though Hetfield's voice is kind of whiny at times, it goes well with the " Raw " feel of it as you say.

Whiny, i didnt know another to describe it...

Joe 11-11-2005 04:10 PM
Both. How the production isn't that great and all...I guess I just really

Yea i was about to say that but I wasn't sure how to put it. I was thinking like rookie or something but that's not a good word. Kinda like "ready to take over the word" raw

Britton 11-11-2005 04:10 PM

I love the vocals on the Power Metal Demo

Exactly what I meant to say Joe

sian 11-11-2005 04:30 PM

i am quite good at doing the solos

Britton 11-11-2005 04:30 PM

Which ones?

sian 11-11-2005 04:33 PM

erm lol well none really i just look and see how they are played and try and play them but i am not good at all i just try and think i am so then i actually think that i can do them .......

Joe 11-11-2005 04:33 PM

FRAUD!!! that's ok, i've done that before too..

are you really Happy's sister?

sian 11-11-2005 04:34 PM
