That reminds me I've gotta learn the rest and try the solo sometime. Musicial Theory is fukkin' retarded. How the hell is this easier than tabs? (Sheet music) I've gotta write out 50something pages of staves and shiit. meh. Mitch, is this really that useful? |

Mitch, is this really that useful?
I don't use sheet music to read from but it's useful for transcribing string concertos and stuff. Also, if you're trying to put piano music onto guitar and the only avaliable source is the sheet music, it helps to be able to read it for obvious reasons. You don't sound like the kind of person that would use it alot or want to need to understand it, you're probably wasting your time. |
sheet music is easier to understand the theory behind the writing, as well as recognizing the key that the peice is in, and also gives you the rhythmic feel of the song, even though you may have never heard it.
Sheet music is WAY more descriptive than tab |
yeah, but GP has both ...
|
has both the sheet music and tab?
|
Yeah.
And powertab. |
I'm getting my new 7 string today
Though, it won't be nearly as nice as my old LTD 607b, the price was too good to pass up |

Paul Gilbert ... he's not a human, or he definetly had no life or too much time for playing guitar  even the easiest lick 12-14-12-14 sounds soooo amazing when he is playing it ... wow. the video is called [Young Guitar] - Paul gilbert - 100% Racer X |

Yeah, everything he plays sounds amazing. You should see the rare footage from 1986, that's some of the craziset stuff I'ev seen him do. He's just sitting there in shorts playing Yngwie tunes better than Yngwie... |
haven't you posted a link recently in the guitar forum, with exact this video?
|
I didn't post it in the guitar forum but I posted it in here.
|
when i watch it, it seems that gilbert didn't progressed much in the last 20years
|
That's because he was amazing at 18.
|
He's just sitting there in shorts playing Yngwie tunes better than Yngwie...
indeed... would like to ask yngwie : "PG owns you, you know?" when did PG start playing guitar? |
I can't remember actually, I think it was 9/10 or something. I'm going to have to find out because he said he started playin fast after 8 years. 10 + 8 = 18 which is when he was in Racer X so that confuses me.
OK he started playing at 5 but soon gave up and started again at 11. By 15, he was in Racer X and was in guitar magazines for being recognised because he was amazing. :upset: wtf |
Michael Romeo started with 14 and took it seriously with 18...
i started with 18 and took it seriously with 20... so, Mitch, we STILL can GET THERE!!! :D |
