I was in S.A so there were tons of huge hispanic guys just beating it
out of me. My dad was like "What happened to you?" "and why is everyone wearing black?"
Have you guys heard the RTL/KEA medly?
Stormrider 11-10-2005 02:12 PM
I thought Metallica's moshpits were bad. Then I went to see Slayer.
Oh yeah I got pushed round a lot. I'm only little. Still loved it though.

Sadbutrue16 11-10-2005 02:55 PM
Yea have you done stuff like that before?

When I was moshin I got the crud beat outta me! it was the best day of
my life!
Well i havn't been to a metal concert liek that. And also i didnt eat for like 8 hours before the concert, was standing up for like 5 hours(watched Godsmack open, was sick) and there was plenty of weed aroudn me to get me contact high was fun besides passign out..especially since they drug me into a puddle....still dont kno what that pudle was.....dont want to...;/

Aw3someman 11-10-2005 03:04 PM

They had a couple ambulances last metallica concert i went to

Kyle 11-10-2005 03:13 PM

The Iron Maiden mosh when I saw them was incredible, but that was a fun mosh not a particuarly violent one. SOAD on the other hand was pretty violent, and I saw Marrilyn Manson when he played at Reading Festival...he wasnt that great but the mosh was vicious.

bquinlan888 11-10-2005 03:27 PM
I was trying to learnt the ride the lightining solo the other day. It is imo the hardest metallica solo out there
id have to disagree with you on this one man, it is actually quite easy its like most the other solos kirk does.

Aw3someman 11-10-2005 03:31 PM

Didn't hetfield do the RtL solo. I know that he did like 2 from that album and I think that's one of them. Kirk's solos have a similar pattern and if you can do the pattern you can do all his solos. but Mustaine...

at Leeds, there was no mosh near me when manson was on, i was 2nd row, and we just couldn't move. freed up a bit into maiden though. first ever gig was maiden at a smaller venue, and that was a pretty good mosh. i was only...15 at the time as well, and about 5'4"! i want to see metallica next year, if the rumours about them doing download are true.

When i went to see Dragonforce, as soon as the song 'Blackfire' kicked in the crowed just flew forward it took half the song to ragain your balance.

But there is always nice people in moshpits that pick you up if you fall down, unfortunatly there are also idiots who just want to hurt people:angry:

there whole of the middle was just a big violent mosh at reading for manson. The maiden mosh was so good though because there was so much space and it wasnt a bunch of emos who dont know any moshing etiquette.

heh, when Incubus were on all the emo and goth kids appeared, then disappeared when they finished
i thought manson was pretty good, and obviously maiden were awesome.

hmm i didn't know hetfield did any solos. Someone fidn out which songs they were and post them ;/

Josh 11-10-2005 04:21 PM

i think Hetfield did the solo for Nothing Else Matters, at least in the video he does i think. and possibly the intro solo on Fade to Black? i know RTL has been mentioned before as well.

shadow_stalker 11-10-2005 04:22 PM

I think he does one of the shiplash solos, but i could be wrong (live **** has 2 solos going at the same time on whiplash so...)

Scott_Thrasher 11-10-2005 05:05 PM

yer it was 81

metalmilitia101 11-10-2005 05:06 PM

hetfield does outlaw torn, and then he also i believe does the slow solo in mop after the clean part and in between his and kirk's duet type thing.

If he could solo like that I would be amazed, but no, it's Hammett.

FTB just takes awhile

timmySmi 11-10-2005 06:35 PM

Guys just thought I'd post before my gig later tonight. Me and my band have got 2 Metallica songs we wanna play. But because of ownly having an hour setlist we will ownly beable to play one song so Iam asking which one you'd recommend Sad But True or Holier Than Thou. HTT is such a great song to headbang to plus I love singing the backing vocals plus theres a little part after the solo were theres a little bass n drum solo. But SBT is just a classic Iam head****ed which should i choose guys!

Shadows Within 11-10-2005 07:23 PM
Agreed with Vince there.

If you could take the great songs from Load, ReLoad and St.Anger, dumping the filler, and combining them into one album, most people would enjoy it, I'd say.
I really like Fuel is there anything else on Load, Reloaded thats good also? besides Fuel?

Jom 11-10-2005 07:26 PM

The Memory Remains is my favorite from Re-Load.

Na na na na na... na na na na na. Na na na na, na na, na na na... na na na na na.

Love that outro.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-10-2005 07:27 PM

That song was one of the fist heavy songs I liked. I remember the video clip quiote well.

Those were the days

The Unforgiven II

Fixxxer

(imo) Plus Garage Days was a great album too I think.

Yeah that's an awesome song. I think the lyrics are great. Metallica seems to have written them about themselves.

if you have a really wicked rythm guitar, and your lead is awesome, then do sad but true, because there is no turning back for people in the crowd when that snare pumps the solo in. whenever i play it with my friends or band i just go freakin CRAZY! thats such a great solo, because it ties in awesomely to the rythm guitar behind it

Here, just do neither and do The God That Failed. Not sure if your bassist can handle it though.

metalmilitia101 11-10-2005 07:58 PM

oh yes, good song. although none of these are songs i would play if i could only cover one metallica song.

Aw3someman 11-10-2005 09:01 PM

The solos thing. On my Justice for All cd it says hetfield did to Live is to die. so he does solos and on RtL he does one in Creeping Death and Part of Call of the Ktulu and on Puppets he does the first one in Puppets and one more and in KEA he didn't do any.

Random, probably stupid Question: What happened with Cliff and that car crash. WHo was driving, was it Mustaine?

I coulda sworn it was him, and thats why they kicked him outta the band. But my friend says im wrong so i leave it to you guys

noop i'll hafta give it to your friend. mustaine was kicked out for...bad attitude and temper or something?...in 83, not sure what exact day, but sometime before april 1, which is when hammett joined, that one's easy :) . i am not sure who was driving, but that happened in 86 and mustaine was long gone.

question: do you guys prefer the unforgiven or the unforgiven II?

Dave was out long before that. The driver hit some ice and crashed, throwing Cliff out of the window. Supposedly Cliff was still alive after the crash but the crane lifting the bus off him slipped and it killed him.

Just think, if Kirk would've won Cliff's bed in cards then he'd still be alive.
But there'd be no Hammett.

Britton 11-11-2005 10:28 AM

It's so sad:( That idiot driver.

I heard that they were all standing out there in the cold and the driver
was trying to pull cliffs blanket away from him. Then James flipped out and
went off on him
