Exactly. You don't go into thinking "We're going to be a metal band" or "We're going to play only one type of music". While I said we made a hardcore song, another song we made sounds like it could potentially be played by a mid-90's band like Elliot or Mineral.

yeah i love mixing up different sounds together, like im in another band where the guys listen to just plain screamo music, and i come in with all my little riffs and stuff, and things sound so awesome.

They really dont get making music with other people then. When you jam and mess around, nothings written, and nobody really ever even makes anything that sounds bad. My guess is all the people in your town play guitar then, because alld rummers and bassists ive ever seen like a wide range of music, and looking for a guitarist is impossible because they're on The Who's dic[size=2]k[/size].

thats pretty much it. no one plays anything but guitar. and anyone who does actually play drums is all like OMFG DOUBLE BASS LOLZ I PLAY SO FAST and has no idea how to keep time or even make a decent beat. No one plays bass at all.

I started playing bass because that was the only instrument nobody played. Guitar was pretty easy to learn after that. I pretty much had to start playing guitar (i still play bass though) because the kid that plays bass in this band now doesnt know much about music, and had a lot of trouble with chords, so i let him use my bass. Im using my drummers guitar, and we usually practice at my house, so he uses my drum set. Funny. Then, i give the bass kid a couple notes that he can play whenever, and i just play those notes, or something tht just sounds good with them, and the drummer plays any beat that comes in his head, and we go for about 10 minutes sraight just doing what we feel like.
