That's on of my favorite Tallica songs

I wish my parents made me start guitar when I was 4. I know
a incredible piano player who started when he was three.
yeah, i started playing piano at age 5, and i'm really good, thanks to starting young. also started irish dancing at age 5, and i'm incredible, also thanks to starting young lol.
Just listened to Kill 'em all for the first time in a few months.....Jump in the fire is quality.
that's your favorite song off of kill em all?

Father_Jack 11-09-2005 03:15 PM
It was in standard and in some cases raised up slightly.
Hmm I didn't know this, any songs you know that are raised up.

Oh and to the other guy that you quoted, the only song that dropped before Black Album was The Thing That Should Not Be (which is dropped D). Although my knowledge is not fact.

timmySmi 11-09-2005 03:31 PM
When was this? It was always a pick live.
Jason finger Picked loads Memory Remains Video, Unforgiven II Video, Human from S&M. plus if you look at Cunning Stunts during Seek & Destroy Jason throws his pick into the crowd and starts playing with his fingers.
that's your favorite song off of kill em all?
Yeah I think so, I like Hit the Lights and obviously Seek and Destroy too.

I wish my Parents had forced me to play any instrument from an early age, I feel like I'm so far behind because I started when I was 16. I'm gona teach my kids guitar and Piano if I ever learn it myself.

Father_Jack 11-09-2005 03:39 PM

I would just like to declare my love for Rob's live bass solo before Bell Tolls at Download 2004, mainly because it is awesome and meaty. That is all.

One is finger picked, i saw the video and jason fingerpicked.

I can't really say if Jason is good or bad, for one side he never showed his real talent in Metallica, for the other side all the live solos and basslines he made are relative easy.

Rob is great, easily as good as Cliff( i can't say better because i haven't heard much of his repertory).

Britton 11-09-2005 04:16 PM

Wow you get around

If you listen to For Whom the Bell Tolls and other tracks off RTL you can tell that it's slightly higer than standard tuning. I think this is more through mistake than anything else.
If you listen to For Whom the Bell Tolls and other tracks off RTL you can tell that it's slightly higer than standard tuning. I think this is more through mistake than anything else.
Oh wait someone told me something about this. I think it was in the guitar forum, they said that playing along some songs off of RTL will sound out of tune because they were speeded it up slightly in the studio, which lead to the slightest change in pitch.

Jev 11-09-2005 04:39 PM

I think it was because they spent all the time in the studio drunk.

metalmilitia101 11-09-2005 04:54 PM

haha knowing metallica...
lol but not likely

Jev 11-09-2005 04:55 PM

But seriously, why would they speed up FWTBT? That's like their slowest song on RTL.

vashts80 11-09-2005 05:06 PM

I think a lot of stuff back then was sped-up in the studio due to recording limitations or something. I know that Megadeth's Peace Sells is something like 1/4th of a step up because they had to speed it up slightly due to some recording problem or something

Stormrider 11-09-2005 05:14 PM

Hit the Lights is probably one of my favorite off that album...that one and Whiplash.

Possibly. Could that be the reason that some of their very old concerts are tuned up? Because of recording problems? For example the debut of Fade to Black concert was tuned up.
Hit the Lights is probably one of my favorite off that album...that one and Whiplash.
I like most of the album. The high points IMO are Four Horsemen and S&D

metalmilitia101 11-09-2005 05:56 PM

i LOVE metal militia, and the four horsemen would prolly have to be my fav off of kem. i like the whole album, its really sweet and raw and a touch thrashy

Deth 11-09-2005 05:56 PM

That would be my guess. There must have been fluctuations in the tape.

Joe 11-09-2005 07:29 PM

Either that or the recording is really bad like that too.

I was listening to Pink Floyd but I had to turn on Fade to Black for this special occasion

NP: Fade to Black

Yes those 2 songs are realy good but ive gotten kind of anoyed of seek and destroy...listened to it too much i guess, i dunno.

But yes all the songs from that album are good. If only the quality was better...

Aw3someman 11-09-2005 08:20 PM

I'm still drooling over Live Sh*t to care. This album rocks. Holy sh*t. If you don't have it... Buy it NOW

metalmilitia101 11-09-2005 09:38 PM

agreed. its pretty much incredible

Yep, Live Sh!t is great

drummer_mp3 11-09-2005 09:41 PM

Wish I had the god damn money to buy live **** binge and purge. Sounds so good. so much old metallica **** yeah!

Man I also just realised how James and Lars are beasts. Lars plays drums so damn fast(live that is) and James pounds his guitar as rapidly while singing. Crazy bastards, wish I were as good.

metalmilitia101 11-09-2005 09:47 PM

yeah old metallica is the best metallica.

Have you guys heard the RTL/KEA medly?

 nice;)

W.M.A 11-10-2005 02:39 AM

is that the medley from cunning stunts? yeh live **** is awesome except for the modified version of master of puppets.

Jev 11-10-2005 10:41 AM

I wish they'd play all the songs in their entirities rather than sticking them in a medley.

Father_Jack 11-10-2005 10:45 AM

I haven't heard the one from Cunning Stunts, but there is a KEA/RTL medley on a '94 concert from www.livemetallica.com its pretty aswesome.
I wish they'd play all the songs in their entirities rather than sticking them in a medley.
I agree a little bit, like on Live Sh*t I thought they should have put Blackened on it's own and not in a medley.

Kyle 11-10-2005 10:51 AM
Congrats buddy.

yeah, that thing is orgasmic.

I forgot to mention motorbreath earlier when talking about tracks on Kill 'em All. just been playing that on guitar.....it tires my hands out.

Jev 11-10-2005 11:01 AM

I can never play Motorbreath, the tab seems to play differently from what I hear.

Kyle 11-10-2005 11:16 AM
I can never play Motorbreath, the tab seems to play differently from what I hear.
yeah I know what you mean. I don't play it to the tab though, I kinda adapted it in my head.

On all the Metallica concerts i heard...Live Sh!t, some i downloaded and one i went to they always start the first song with Blackened or Enter Sandman.

Personally Blackened owns Enter Sandman but there both good tunes.
at the Metallica concert i went to november 2004 i thoguht for sure they would start with Enter Sandman but they played Blackened. But it was fukin lame caus ei passed out 15 min before the concert!!!! I wasn'y even drunk or on drugs. i dont knowwhy i passed out but they had to take me to the medical station an di mised the fukin first song. was pissed. Not to mention i was front row in the pit!!! W#$@$@#

Maybe the pressure of people pushing you made you pass out?

Britton 11-10-2005 12:48 PM

Yea have you done stuff like that before?

When I was moshin I got the crud beat outta me! it was the best day of
my life!

Jev 11-10-2005 12:52 PM

I refrain from moshing. I always get hit in the nose or some fat guy twice the size of me picks on me.

I came close to buying Cunning Stunts (hey try reversing the st and c and you'd have a name for a p*rno:lol: )

but I was short. Apparently the guy wanted to have that extra .25.
