you will be taken as a joke
and its a great way to get banned:thumb:
please state a reason why you think this

Scott_Thrasher 11-09-2005 04:21 AM

ok, for starters, in most metal bands, you cant understand the words anyway. I didnt mean to say that he looks ugly but i am not a big fan of metallica and seriously think his head is a piece of ROAD KILL

To all you BLOODHOUND GANG FANS! THUMBS UP!!!!

Epicurus 11-09-2005 04:22 AM

If they released another album similar to MoP they would have the greatest come back.

Scott_Thrasher 11-09-2005 04:24 AM

u like bloodhound gang? Sorry to change the thread topic, anyway, my fave song from metallica is SEEK AND DESTROY, i sing it quite alot

Scott_Thrasher 11-09-2005 04:28 AM

do u all think that metallica will release another album, man they are getting pretty old and i wouldnt be suprised if one day, James Hetfield or Kirk Hammet got up on stage in a wheelchair or had a walking frame

Scott_Thrasher 11-09-2005 04:37 AM

they must have arthritis from playin the guitar. i cant play guitar but i can play the drums. it must get pretty sore from doin the same thing for a while?

W.M.A 11-09-2005 06:07 AM

theyre actually more like 42

cant say if i wanted to make money id release a record as un radio friendly as st. anger so ive never understood y ppl think that.

u kno theres probably lots of threads about bands u like scott, mayb u should stick to them instead of pointlessly bagging an enormously popular band.

Son of Northern Darkness 11-09-2005 06:29 AM

Even taking into account how great their earlier releases were - Leading up to Black - I find it hard to have any respect whatsoever for the Bandmembers of Metallica.... I think Cliff Burton can't believe what's happened to them! And I can't either.... They are a bunch of Whiney assholes...

.:Thrasher:. 11-09-2005 06:31 AM

sorry i meant 40 because they were all born it the early 60s or late 50s
anyway i agree to what you said to scott

^what you mean you hate how they changed there image and there style of songs IMO i dont really carse cause i like metallica for the music and how they can play it. and also there image doesent really matter cause you dont need long hair for metal

Son of Northern Darkness 11-09-2005 06:37 AM
there image doesent really matter cause you dont need long hair for metal
I tend to disagree.... I dunno, I find that image is a very important thing in any music genre...Even Metal, like it or not. It isn't "all about the music" I wish it was but it isn't....Your music and your image go hand in hand...They compliment and carry each other, both are an integral part of a successful band.

dont get me wrong i like long hair im growing mine but your long hair doesent write the music. (i like how all of them had the long hair, they look better with it)

Agreed.... Growin mine too... I just think the hair thing goes with metal in the way that Metal is all about being "Extreme"... SO your hair should either be long or None at all.... 2 Extremes. You're right of course, the Hair might not write the music (Although I sometimes feel my hair has a mind of its own) but the hair compliments to and adds to the image which in turn compliments the band as a whole, which in turn afects the success....

of course long hair goes with metal its like bread and butter but in conclution its up to the person if they want long hair. all good now. BACK TO METALLICA

I can't think of a valid reason for your existance...

fatbandit 11-09-2005 08:25 AM

Meh, going back a bit. But Jason could slap (but didn't), and fingerpick. He fingerpicks when he drops his pick, and I remember him using fingers for -Human I think, and there's also a point on Cunning Stunts where he uses his fingers when he is down near the crowd.

And please, to whoever said it, what do you base Rob being sucky on?

:smash:

It was in standard and in some cases raised up slightly.

rob and jason are gods of the bass. also someone said rob crouches when he plays, and thats not detrimental i think its pretty sweet. he really adds to their stage presence nowadays

Jev 11-09-2005 11:45 AM

I don't know how he can crouch for so long.

metalmilitia101 11-09-2005 11:47 AM

me neither lol. i think its pretty sweet though

Jev 11-09-2005 11:56 AM

Maybe he's suspended by wires and he's just sitting down?

i thought Jason fingerpicked all the time

i don't enjoy playing bass with a pick much, unless it's something like GNR where the pick helps me keep the rhythm going better.

Jev 11-09-2005 12:13 PM

I can't play bass without a pick. Then again, I am primarily a guitarist.

metalmilitia101 11-09-2005 12:19 PM

for some reason i always think bass guitars sound better when they are played with a pick. maybe its just me

Josh 11-09-2005 12:23 PM

you get a cleaner sound, but i don't enjoy it as much, probably because my favourite bassist is Steve Harris, who has never used a pick. i find both sounds good, but like fingers more.

Britton 11-09-2005 12:27 PM

I play a little Bass. I'm not to serius about it so I use a pick. It sounds
good either way.

Dang this thread is moving

He's an amazing bassist. I'd love to be able to play fast with my fingers. That said, I wish I could play classical guitar.

Britton 11-09-2005 12:30 PM

I'm really getting into classical guitar. It's lots of fun!

Josh 11-09-2005 12:39 PM

my little brother is / was amazing on his 3/4 size acoustic, just fingerpicking. he's only 11, but has written tunes around existing ones. he doesn't play much now though.

Jev 11-09-2005 12:45 PM

Your brother>me.
It's always best to start young.

no way, that would be silly.

Bon Jovi used to fly. That was silly.

But Bon Jovi makes silly music so it's more appropriate

:-/ I guess so.

Kyle 11-09-2005 01:43 PM

Just listened to Kill 'em all for the first time in a few months.....Jump in the fire is quality.

Britton 11-09-2005 02:08 PM

That's on of my favorite Tallica songs

I wish my parents made me start guitar when I was 4. I know
a incredible piano player who started when he was three.
