I got accepted to Penn State University. :D
Come join the state college crew.

I mean the town.

Well_Respected_Man 01-12-2006 04:29 PM

Nice. :)

Well_Respected_Man 01-12-2006 04:31 PM

Does anyone have any music programs like reason or acid/sound forge that I could use for mac? I'm having bundles of trouble trying to find this shiat on limewire, everything is for PC.

Electrocution 01-12-2006 04:32 PM

I really want a cool program like that but everything I download is just a demo.

YDload 01-12-2006 04:49 PM
I got accepted to Penn State University. :D
And you're also accepted to Pitt

Well, I have friends at both schools, so I can probably tell you which one you should go to, depending on what suits you best:

Pitt:
Located in a city, suburb of Oakland with frequent gunshots/sirens heard at night.
Near Duquesne and Carnegie-Mellon, so that's like an extra 10-15 thousand college kids you can choose to party with.
Football team is meh, but men's basketball kicks ass.

Penn State:
Located in a town in the middle of nowhere, but because of the college it's always full of people and stuff to do.
Campus is really spread out like hell, so you have to walk through town to get to classes. Similar to Pitt but more expansive and not as many big buildings.
Basketball teams are meh, but football team was ranked #3 this year. Go JoePa!

that's all I know :(

Electrocution 01-12-2006 04:59 PM

Penn State:
Lots and lots of parties
lots of high school kids to hook up with
Me and pixiesfan (sort of)
possible riots
drugs
Joe Paterno
Downtown Dan

pixiesfanyo 01-12-2006 05:01 PM

but. the Penn State music scene has a tendency to suck.

and i think our town sucks. but it's your choice.

Electrocution 01-12-2006 05:01 PM

ooh yeah. It sucks a lot.

sorry brah. she's a girl though so she isn't as much of a horndog. at least that's what the standup comedians say.

mentalstephanie 01-12-2006 05:44 PM

I think I may be going to University of Pittsburgh. It's better for what I want to study anyway. Penn State is too dirty and weird.

oh and I would love meet pixiesfanyo and electrocution. :D but I'm already meeting wide load, right?

PSU is 20,000x cleaner than Pitt.

You are crazy if you think State COllege is dirty.

mentalstephanie 01-12-2006 05:49 PM

argghhh when I visited my brother at PSU I got a really bad imipression of it and he told me not to lean against the elevator because people have had a wee wee on it.

And I'm not too partial into the entire drinking thing and the middle of nowhere-ness. My relatives have told me PSU makes people into alcoholics. :p And about half of my highschool goes to PSU.

Tangy zizzle 01-12-2006 06:01 PM

Jesus, they breed you guys soft over there don't they?

YDload 01-12-2006 06:02 PM

College is what turns people into alcoholics, not just State College ;)

But hey wherever you wanna go. Do you like football or basketball more? There's a good indicator I guess.

Glitterati 01-12-2006 06:07 PM

I keep worrying about college. It's unhealthy.

mentalstephanie 01-12-2006 06:31 PM

I like rugby. But anyway, a lot of my friends who go to PSU complain that all State College kids do is drink. And you just want me to go to PSU so I don't stalk you in Pitts. :D
And PSU isn't as good as University of Pittsburgh for nursing. But meh, I may revisit State College in the near future.

pixiesfanyo 01-12-2006 06:37 PM

Yeah. PSU was like the number 1 drug active school in the nation a year or two ago.

YDload 01-12-2006 06:39 PM

No school in western PA is a worse partying school than IUP, so don't worry about it. But yeah if you're goin' for nursing Steph, then Pitt would probably be the key. UPMC is a good collection of hospitals: they removed my appendix without having to cut a giant nasty scar in my abdomen \:D/

Tangy zizzle 01-12-2006 06:39 PM

I'd say every university in every part of the world is resposnsible (in some way) for the drinking habits of it's attendees/graduates.

It's a part of uni life, you don't have to do it. Have some fucking willpower.

I have a scar in my abdomen. I guess I lost this one.

No, I'm saying that I don't want to be around a bunch of raging alcoholics. I believe Penn State is known to be a huge party school.

Wanker 01-12-2006 07:27 PM

It's not like people break into your dormroom and force you to funnel liquor.

My school used to be notorious for being a "party school" but then they changed the name and supposedly the reputation changed with it. I don't think so though. Because even though 2,500 people go there, more than half of them are drinking every weekend. Don't avoid schools because they have reputations for partying. If you can control yourself then you should be fine. If I were you, I'd be more interested in the academics they offer.. you know, the supposed "real" reason people attend college.

Tangy zizzle 01-12-2006 07:29 PM

How often do people drink at your school Wanker? Weekends? Weekdays?

Wanker 01-12-2006 07:34 PM

It depends. I'll drink every weekend if I have the cash. But if I have some beers left over form the weekend and I don't have class until the afternoon the next day, I'll polish 'em off.

And I know people that'll have a few glasses of (box) wine during a weekday evening... maybe some rum or vodka too.

I mean it's college for fuck's sake. You don't to get hammered every night, but you wanna have some fun.

Tangy zizzle 01-12-2006 07:38 PM

Don't have to tell me buddy.

The demon drink is an alluring wee thing.

Wanker 01-12-2006 07:47 PM

hehe, don't worry. That comment wasn't directed at you.

This demon drink intrigues me though. /raises eyebrow

br3ad_man 01-12-2006 07:56 PM

I'm back, did I miss much?

I'm seeing Rufio tonight. I don't really like them, but three good friends of mine are going, so it will still be good. I'm going to Antony and the Johnsons next week. I had to get standing tickets, but they were cheaper so meh. When I was up in the city, I found a perfect used copy of Feels for $15. Score. I also got 2001: A Space Odyssey for $8.

moderaterock222 01-12-2006 08:00 PM

you americans don't know how to party..:p

BillCosby 01-12-2006 08:01 PM
I'm seeing Rufio tonight.
I'm sorry.
