What program are you using? If you're using Windows Media Player...just download iTunes now.

Jev 04-05-2006 06:49 AM

I've tried both. Neither work. I click rip CD and the programs just die.

Then there definitely could be a problem with your CD drive. I'd recommend having a friend who's into computers or a professional come over and take a look for you.

Jev 04-05-2006 06:55 AM

Yeah. I'll ask around. I won't tell my dad, he thinks he knows about computers but just makes things worse.

Holy fuck is my Journalism teacher being a prick.

He assigns three stories per marking period: a feature, a news story, and an editorial.

For my editiorial I reviewed the new In Flames album, easy stuff, woo.

For my feature I was supposed to write about my MEH student teacher.... WHO DIDN'T START TEACHING UNTIL YESTERDAY.

Then for my news story was about a substitute teacher running for state assembly... he never responded to my email asking for an interview so I couldn't finish it, so my teacher accuses me of not doing that work, and for the layout I was assigned the 4th page of the paper.... but he flips out on me and tells me to stop because the pictures they had for the one article were distorted... something that I wasn't at fault AT ALL for.

Jev 04-05-2006 07:18 AM

He sounds like a major prick. I hate teachers like that so much. My form tutor refuses to accept he's wrong or apologise even when he knows he's wrong.

i am the robots 04-05-2006 07:20 AM

Yeah, it's irritating, meh.

Sounds like my drummer.

Jev 04-05-2006 07:51 AM

My old drummer doesn't want to leave. I think we might keep him until end of school
>_>

Invicta_Veritas 04-05-2006 07:55 AM

Ok, here's my problem.....
My guitarist and I are ready to record a short album, we have all the songs and music written and practiced and are ready to go......

My drummer is f*cking around with getting his new set, and my bassist is like on cloud 9 or something......keeps getting into legal trouble, and has no motivation anymore (which is sad because we actually stole him from a signed band, he was that interested in being a part of this).

Here's my solution. I play drums and some bass on the album (as well as my guitar and vocals), my guitarist finishes the bass (and his guitar parts), we record the album, promote it as a full band, and just hire new people........

Any other solutions?

Jev 04-05-2006 07:57 AM

I'd explain what you're planning to do to your Bassist and Drummer and maybe that'll get their asses in gear.

If it doesn't, I'd get the bass parts done by the guitarists and hire a drummer for the recording.

However the situation with the band is resolved, let us hear some of it! :D

I've played drums for several years, so we could get the drums done without having to spend money on a studio drummer......I'm just really not looking forward to having to do Vocals, Lead guitar, drums, half the bass, and produce........

But yea, I was thinking about saying look, you both are fired if this isn't resolved in a week, but that could backfire.....

Jev 04-05-2006 08:09 AM

You want to get this album done right?
You're gonna have to take some kind of risk.

True enough. I could always hire our guitar tech to play bass....he's about the only guitarist in this town that could play my sh*t...even my rythm guitarist can't play some of my lead parts.....(I tend to write music that is challenging to even myself......)

I've got a scratch track of one guitar and vocals that will be on the album (after its actually rerecorded as a song, of course, with drums, all the guitar, and bass) if you guys want a preview bad enough i'll upload it on our site.........

kurrpt 04-05-2006 08:20 AM

damn behemoth, that sounds like a sick project you're!

fuk these yuppies around here

Jev 04-05-2006 08:20 AM

That's cool, I'd like to hear it.

Like I said it's a scratch track, just to get a feel for the song structure, but I'll upload it, give me a few minutes......

superpeer 04-05-2006 08:26 AM

Are this the same tracks that were on your myspace or did you change them?

Invicta_Veritas 04-05-2006 08:36 AM

Same tracks (just our demo), but i'm taking off one of the acoustics so I can post a scratch track (one guitar and crappy vocals) of one of our newer songs.

I uploaded it, it may or may not take a while to process......

for those of you who don't know already, its http://www.myspace.com/condemnedindeathwerise

Invicta_Veritas 04-05-2006 08:38 AM

It's up......last song.........track 4 on the site check it out

Only for MXers would I do this...... can't believe I'm leaking early versions of my own sh*t.............

kurrpt 04-05-2006 08:50 AM
