I try to get mi brother to teach me because everyone says that he is a legend on guitar but he doesn't tell me the notes, do you have to know the notes to be able to play? |

You don't need to know each individual note names no. Just learn how to read tablature if you don't already know, http://www.cyberfret.com will have a lesson on it. Then just take it slow, listen to the CD riff, look at the tab, play the riff back on the CD, then try to play it, keep doing it till you get it right. It will all become easy with time. |
you mean this guy?

I did hear on the satallite radio that they're going to be releasing a book on the movie SKOM. It's supposed to have a lot of stuff in it that didn't make it in the movie. Maybe it'll even have the bit in it where lars is crying after talking to dave.:naughty: |

Never heard of it either.
|
Never heard of it either.
I don't know how much more books and videos of sensless drama I can take. They need to convey that raw emotion into music and not into books and videos. They're a musical band for god's sake. |
Why do they need books. IMO all they need is one comprehensive live album w/ DVD and they pretty much have that w/ Live ****. That should be the metallica box set. Then they need to make a kick *** album to leave the business with. Something to the effect of RtL or MoP. That would seriously rock. They could retire with a good impression. Better yet they can make a couple of cd's like that before they retire

Yeah, me and a couple ppl think that this next album will probably be their last. I just hope that it's good and I can see them before the move on. My older bro and sis got to see them a couple of years ago (right after SA was released) and they said that Metallica was awesome live. Of course they never invited a 'tallica freak like me to go with. |
About 5 years ago I would have gone and seen Metallica but since Jason left I don't know something just does'nt seem right. Jaymez's singings nowhere near as good as it once was and I just can't accept Rob plus the whole napster incident were these multi millionaires are complaining about people downloading there tracks for free. That really disgusted me I respect these guys as musicians but as people there assholes i.e SKOM. Ever since Load slowly but surely they have being going down hill. Cliff must be flipping In his grave
Anyways long live the old ****! |
I got to see them after SA too. they were pretty awesome. They did mostly old stuff. They performed some SA songs really well live though. I went and listened to the songs on the album and there they were horrible. I would really want to see Metallica's farewell tour though. They might do like ****loads of songs for these.

Yeah, maybe james'll mess up on the lyrics to RTL again. |
Man it feels like I haven't been here in forever

Dude they'll be in coffins before their farewell tour. |
Farewell tour? Dude they'll be in coffins before their farewell tour.
i daresay you are correct. they will be all bones before they are through rocking this planet. |

Anyways long live the old ****!
When I saw them just about a year ago. I thought their performance was amazing. The only complaint I have, is they played no songs from RTL, and they did 3 cover songs. They had great pyro, and energy. I thought Rob and every other member were putting 110% in every song. |
i don't see why people complain about rob. he's a nice guy, and he has a freakin AWESOME image and stage presence. i think they play great nowadays, albeit there will always be something different.
|
Hmm... well, Rob isn't a very good bassist, for one. And he plays his bass CROUCHING. What kind of dude plays his bass crouching down?
|
Hmm... well, Rob isn't a very good bassist, for one. And he plays his bass CROUCHING. What kind of dude plays his bass crouching down?
I hope that's sarcasm. |

Atleast he fingerpicks. |

Go listen to Infectious Grooves and Suicidal Tendencies. Then come back and tell me Rob's not a very good bassist.
The people I've been told I look like: Yngwie Malmsteen*
If someone told me I looked like Yngwie Malmsteen, I'd punch them in the face. |
Is Metallica still opening for the Stones next week?
|
Any news on a new album? I am so hanging out for this...
Maybe some good music on the scene for once... |
Any news on a new album? I am so hanging out for this...
Maybe some good music on the scene for once...
on there site they said they were bringing it out in this decade so yer (i wonder, will it be a new type of music there doing) i hope they do thrash metal like it was in the early days(IMO they ruled it) |
If someone told me I looked like Yngwie Malmsteen, I'd punch them in the face.
  |
So Joe where have you been?
The website is funny. sometime this decade? thanks! I bet Lars was the one who said that |
Atleast he fingerpicks.
Jason finger picked aswell. I don't hate Rob I think they could'nt have found a better replacement if anything Jaymez Kirk and Lars will have trouble keeping up with him! I guess my era of growing up listening to Metallica I was learning stuff from Black Album ,Load, Reload and gained a soft spot for Jason he's had a amazing influeance on my bass playing and I have the upmost respect for the guy. |
I dunno. I've never even heard of it.
What's it about?
SO WHAT! is a book full of pictures, interviews and articles from the Metallica So What! Magazine over the years. Its pretty much a compilation of stuff from the magazine over the past 10-15 years or so. Its pretty good, I'd recommend it to any Metallica fan. |
