Crosby, I have the links to the mp3's for you. So IM me.

thickasabrick 02-03-2005 08:41 PM

What do you guys think is the best psychadelic album?

PinkFreud 02-03-2005 08:42 PM
So I'm kind of getting into Emerson, Lake, and Palmer. I heard a song from this classic rock station here, it sounded a little electronic, a lot of keyboards. I loved it.

Anyone have any recommendations?
karn evil 9, but try the music recommendation thread

Johnny B. Good 02-03-2005 08:42 PM
I love the part where it's like "Go to the mirror boy" and the Moon comes in with the drums, then "go to the mirror boy" and drums again.
I love the use of french horns throughout the album, it fits in so well

jpj 02-03-2005 08:42 PM

Aoxomoxoa, Anthem of the Sun, and PATGOD.

Well there is PATGOD but Badmoon wouldn't agree with that.

Disraeli Gears, Mr. Fantasy in addition to the ones JPJ said.

Their album Trilogy is great. The Endless Enigma is a great song, very long. It's split up into two parts on the album. Great keyboards/piano. They were pioneers of the MOOG synthesizer.

edit- I suppose I should use more than "great" to describe everything.

Pictures at an Exhibit is what I think the album is called, I'm too lazy to check, but it's really good

Yes, I have Trilogy also. Great album. I've been wanting to get Tarkus.

I don't think very much tops Tommy. Maybe I give it an unfair edge because it was my favorite album when I was little, but still.

Distant Echoes 02-03-2005 08:45 PM

I don't like being a part of this whole Dead revolution. I was a fan before they became cool here.

Johnny B. Good 02-03-2005 08:45 PM
Yea, it's unfortunate that the Woodstock gig wasn't great for them. It's amazing on the Live at Leeds deluxe edition though.
I really need to get Live at Leeds.
PATGOD is definitely one of the better psychadelic albums

When did grateful dead end and the dead begin? I can never keep track of that
I don't like being a part of this whole Dead revolution. I was a fan before they became cool here.
If you don't like it, leave. I basically started this revolt, and I'm sticking with it!

PinkFreud 02-03-2005 08:47 PM
The VU and Nico, Sgt. Peppers. Ugh, too many more.
No, you're right. Very little does top Tommy. Excellent musicianship
To Badmoon

The Grateful Dead truly began in 1965, but they were connected through Jug Bands and The Warlocks during earlier years. They disbanded in 1995 due to Garcia's death, but they are picking it up again as The Dead.

thickasabrick 02-03-2005 08:49 PM

We should start a clan called Dead Revolution.

Just make sure you don't go emo on us :p

PinkFreud 02-03-2005 08:51 PM

etc.
Just make sure you don't go emo on us :p
Goes emo anyway.

I hate classic rock and I hate all of you! I'm never coming back here again, ever!

Badmoon 02-03-2005 08:52 PM
We should start a clan called Dead Revolution.
That'd be cool. Another cool clan I use to want to start was The Bounty Hunters Guild, in reference to Star Wars. I was going to ask Zepfan to join (He's a Bounty Hunter fan), but I passed on the idea.
