One of these days I'm going to cut you in to little pieces ;)

That's Nicks line

LF96 07-26-2006 05:32 AM

Nick Mason says in his biography of Pink Floyd that there are two other songs on which he has vocals but that they were never released. Maybe your friend heard a bootleg. They might be on that huge rarities-collection A Treeful Of Secrets.

Dragon_Prince 07-26-2006 01:29 PM

What Med said, but then see them both, they are both worth it :)

sabbath1991 07-26-2006 03:09 PM

floyd is amazing, im currently listen to animals and wish you were here alot and getting more into gilmore's soloing style

Anglachel 07-26-2006 04:34 PM

Dads unwilling to pay that amount of money for the concert now :-\

Oh well. That would of been a nice setlist to see.

Ephemeral 07-26-2006 04:46 PM

I picked up one of Roger Water's solo CDs yesterday at the Library. Haven't listened to it yet though.

Just so you know, that's his new opera album. Probably not much like Floyd, although I do want to hear it.

It's interesting.
Roger's best album is Amused To Death.
Gimme a 1, gimme a 2...

I've been listening to it quite a bit recently. I'd love to see Roger if I had the opportunity, but the chances of him gracing my beloved down under are nil to nil.

Riva 07-28-2006 07:06 AM

None of Pink Floyd will ever come to Australia. :(

Cool beans :thumb:

I don't have any of Waters' or Gilmour's solo work. I've heard it varies from 'meh' to 'good', nothing terrible or great. I might pick up On An Island sometime, but I still need The Final Cut, AMLOR, and Division Bell first.

I don't remember Floyd being arrogant or pretentious in the interviews on LAP, but I might just not remember. I wish Floyd had done a proper rockumentary, like The Kids Are Alright. How sweet would that have been. Led Zeppelin too.

np: Fearless

I've heard Roger's solo stuff is a lot like Final Cut, so I'm game. That's arguably my favorite Floyd album. :)

123. I love TFC so much.

Jim 07-31-2006 04:58 AM

1234. Get Amused to Death. It probably won't hit you at first, but it really is an awesome album. Typical Waters. And just like The Final Cut!

This guy's blog has a lot of Floyd bootlegs some of you might want to check out.

Bron-Yr-Aur 07-31-2006 04:13 PM

I've recently found myself enamored with Pink Floyd. Rather odd considering I found them obnoxious not even two weeks ago.

Up The Irons 07-31-2006 06:06 PM

They grew on me too.

3 or 4 years ago I was like, okay I like Dark Side of the Moon, but their other stuff is meh.

Then I was like okay some of this other stuff is pretty neat.

Now I just love 'em to death from the Piper at the Gates of Dawn to the Division Bell :)

Hehe I was the same, when I was a child my parents ALWAYS used to play either WYWH, DSOTM or Animals whilst we had our Sunday roast (Odd yes I know) ... and well I used to hate Sunday roasts so that kinda gave me a negative slant on Floyd cus I was always in a bad mood when I heard them!

Then about 3 years ago; at school my business studies teacher made a presentation on PowerPoint and the song in the background was 'Money'. Obviously with the bass riff I was tapping along to it, and I thought to myself, **** this is good! So, I went home and listened to DSOTM ... and it started from there. Which is weird considering how I found them boring when I was about 5 :p

... What a weird way to begin enjoying a band ...

Haha, yeah, that's a pretty strange way  I wish I had parents like yours who played cool music. My dad was a huge rock fanatic when he was younger but he never really played me music or anything, and my mom was never a huge music fan or anything, although she told me she used to listen to DSotM when she did her homework

I almost bought PULSE today, but I decided I can always get it later, as I'm not in a Floyd kick right now. I bought Primus - Sailing The Seas Of Cheese instead. What a cool album

666Ozzfan 07-31-2006 08:11 PM

I'd bought DSOTM a while back, then my brother, thinking I didn't have it bought it for me. Should return one copy and buy something else. Looking at the Pulse DVD. It's surprisingly cheap for a 2-disk set, only $35NZ!

magicbus 07-31-2006 09:14 PM

I bought Pulse yesterday and watched it today. Pretty cool stuff. Their live show was unbelievable.

But Sailing the Seas of Cheese is good too. Way good.
