Kage 08-23-2007 01:17 PM

Do you not have their new album?

repcak 08-23-2007 01:38 PM

thanks,

the answer: no, they didn't played "The Great Destroyer" in Salzburg.

Polyamarous 08-27-2007 01:46 PM

Saw NIN for the 2nd time this year.

So amazingly awesome, and the weird screen thing was fúcking genius.

bebubly 08-27-2007 02:09 PM

it was probably the best act of the festival. they were so much better at reading than when i saw them a couple of years ago. it was nice to see so many fans of theirs who weren't annoying goths too. there are a lot of songs that i wish they had played as well, but no complaints about what they did play.

misunderstood 08-28-2007 11:33 AM

So are they playing mostly stuff off of Year Zero? Or is it all mostly their older stuff?
I remember reading an interview with Trent where he said he wouldn't be playing alot of YZ material only because this supposedly wasn't a proper tour for the new album.

blizzard 08-29-2007 02:50 AM

I've been listening to a lot NIN lately, only just starting to get into them. Unfortunately they played earlier this year so I probably won't see them anytime soon.

Nearly all pre-YZ.

The only YZ tracks that get played are:

- Hyperpower!
- The Beginning Of The End
- Survivalism
- Capital G
- The Great Destroyer

And tbh, they're heavily rotated, you get maybe one or twp YZ tracks per gig.

Well I was around for the second half of their set at Leeds Festival and only heard 1 new song I think.

I heard that the drummer from Interpol is re-mixing Year Zero. Lolf.

cometuesday 08-31-2007 03:32 PM

I know one of them already mixed stuff off of With Teeth after it came out. ****ing stupid if you ask me.

Six Foot Revolver 08-31-2007 03:36 PM

Well I love Interpol but they all seem to have started re-mixing other people's stuff and it's always awful.

misunderstood 08-31-2007 07:48 PM

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly who is remixing what..but there are gonna be a bunch of different people remixing. From what I hear, there are even gonna be some fan remixes on there. I really don't know what to expect of this album. I think Year Zero is an awesome that should have been left alone the way it is (same thing with TDS). Oh well.

Charlie Manson 09-01-2007 10:54 PM

The Fragile is a good double disk album

misunderstood 09-01-2007 11:35 PM

and the left is the best one...at least for me it is.

Charlie Manson 09-01-2007 11:35 PM

Was it as good for you as it was for me?

repcak 09-02-2007 03:47 AM

the left is better, cause everyone starts with listening to the left disc. if you get sick of it, you start listening to the right disc and then you realize that both of them are awesome.

though i haven't listened to TF for months...

Looks like the current NIN lineup is done. I shouldn't even be too surprised about this seeing as how Reznor has never really kept any members for too long, but I really liked this lineup alot..and was kinda hoping he'd keep them around much longer. Oh well. Wonder what's next for NIN.

Kage 09-15-2007 11:05 PM

I could not care less.

DrumIntoTheNight 10-08-2007 01:55 PM

Massive bump, I know.
Hello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make the following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate. Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008. Exciting times, indeed.
I'm sure the guys on ETS and the Spiral will have seen this already, but I'm just putting it out there.

misunderstood 10-08-2007 02:36 PM

wow, so many changes going on with NIN lately. I also just read that the Year Zero remix album is suppose to be out November 20. And it's gonna be a CD/DVD combo. I wonder what they can possibly fill the DVD with..another live thing? I doubt it.

repcak 10-09-2007 12:27 AM

today i dreamt that i listened to Year Zero for the first time and it wasn't music, it was an "experience"... its was sooo great :D

/i still haven't heard YZ, but yesterday one of my friends bought it, so i may borrow it from her.

misunderstood 10-09-2007 12:56 AM

^ You must get it..asap! haha. I haven't listened to the album in its entirety in quite a while now actually. Maybe I'll put it on now.

marcus_in_absentia 12-21-2007 07:15 AM

Sorry. Just HAD to bump this thread. Not enough NIN love around here. Anyways. Does Reznor write ALL NIN tracks, every single instrument and shit?

Trent Reznor=NIN making the answer to your question, prettymuch yes. Although he did have Dave Grohl play drums on most of With Teeth, which was a huge step for him.

marcus_in_absentia 12-22-2007 07:22 PM

Holy ****. Musical genius, that man is. Also the videos. Damned his videos are creepy. Closer, anyone?

Well, As far as I've understood he basically writes all the compositions; but I believe the 'guests' are allowed to have some input as well.

Kage 12-24-2007 04:52 PM
