Zmev 11-24-2004 07:32 AM

My hair is now purple, like went from a mix or brown (natural) and bleached blonde to purple

But alas, bleach has saved my life in the clorax form.

Iai 11-24-2004 08:42 AM

I used to have purple hair. 'Twas kewl.

I just found out that some retard geography class has booked out the Music Technology suite. Meaning, my coursework (and at least 3 other people's, too) ain't gonna get done.

Got work in just under 2 hours, so I'm just killing time. Guess I'd better do that research essay on Verdi......:(.

Zmev 11-24-2004 08:47 AM

Well at least its not a term paper

Iai 11-24-2004 08:49 AM

We don't have those here. :)

Zmev 11-24-2004 08:51 AM

I dont think i have to do those for years, seeing as in only in high school.

Geez, falling asleep in the front room in a sleeping bag and waking at 4:30am = not good idea but at least this is the last day of school this week .:)

Wanker 11-24-2004 09:30 AM
at least this is the last day of school this week .:)
I hear that :)

I'm going home in about an hour or so and I'm leaving my computer at school. But I may be on at some point on my brother's computer to check up on everything. See y'all later

RIPJoeStrummer 11-24-2004 10:17 AM

I realy wish I had two days off right now... stupid america and their stupid thanksgiving in November.

talk show host 11-24-2004 10:33 AM

One essay down, one to go

It's on the American War of Independence though :(

*listens to Matmos - 'The Civil War' album to get in the mood*

Iai 11-24-2004 01:44 PM

I just went on to RateYourMusic. On the front page, under newest ratings, I saw this.

Tapeworm - Godspeed You! Black Emporer - Lift Your Skinny Fists..... - 5 stars

Looks a little suspicious, I'd say.

Do you think doo-wop is underrated, because I do.

Oh, and I hate writing essays. Especially Document Based Questions.

I have to spend this week off reading Huck Finn. I downloaded the audiobook though, so I could draw and listen at the same time. Clever, huh?

Phunphone 11-24-2004 02:14 PM

An Essay = hardest thing to start.... ever. Beleive me.
An Essay = hardest thing to start.... ever. Beleive me.
always start it with a sarcastic comment or question such as:

in doing this essay i found that it didnt fit the intelligence level i expected it to have, this can be a result of the person of which assigned the essay.

Are Document Based Questions something official or specific, or do you just mean questions based on a source you're given?

The Ashtray Girl 11-24-2004 02:46 PM

Think they're the latter.

I detest schoolwork with a passion, I have so much to do before the end of term it's actually insane, plus I have to be in two plays. Oh the madness.

"In this essay, I will be doing what my teacher has told me to do."

That's always a popular one.

But here's one I prepared earlier -
"What is life? What does it mean? Is there an afterlife or are we merely fleeting presences living in vain hope of immortality? All these issues have been pondered for centuries, yet they pale in comparison to the REAL burning issue at the heart of human curisioty - how does a microphone work?"
Iai 11-24-2004 02:51 PM

If you're laughing and you know it, give me rep.

nah, I'd love to do that, but they're too strict on such thing. And our teachers are f*ckin' intelligent.. they pwn you everytime.... I'm serious. And our school has the highest intelligency rate in the country in terms of students.... they do eliminate.. yeah, whatever.

I always end up stealing a line from a song or a quote... and then change it into my words, but the idea remains the same. I'm such a plagiaristic (I hope that's the word) guy.

minnieme01 11-24-2004 03:49 PM

i'm wondering who repped me and wrote "i forgive you for your EN comment," the one that i made in the modest mouse thread here.

btw, thanks Iai.
Are Document Based Questions something official or specific, or do you just mean questions based on a source you're given?
Well, they're usually given in my US AP history class, and they give you a series of related documents of a certain era, and a question, and you have to analize and use the documents and your own knowledge about the subject to write an essay answering the questions.

For example, my last one was
To what extent had the colonists developed a sense of their identity and unity as Americans by the eve of the Revolution?

Use the documents and your knowledge of the period 1750 to 1776 to answer the question.
Then they give you 6 or 7 documents, or just newspaper articles of that time including political cartoons, or other records and such. They're kind of boring. :(

Bartender 11-24-2004 04:11 PM

Source based questions, yeah. History was one of my things at school, and I used to love source based questions. To me they meant I didn't have to think as much - just see it through on auto-pilot, extrapolating on whatever the source gave me.
