his vocals were not that bad live the only thing that i notice when he sings live is the he sounds a lot more "black" live than in studio. Which their is nothing wrong with that I say.

Speaking of Hendirx, have any of you heard his cover of Sgt. Peppers Loney Hearts Club Band, it's great considering he learned to play the song in 2 days after the release of Sgt Pepper.

Where do I start with the doors? I'm not really familiar with them.

The Doors self titled is a GREAT way to start. (not only was it their first but in my opinion their best)

I would go with ther s/t (The Doors) which many consider to be their best. (It has most of their biggest hits) I would also reccomend Morrison Hotel

I love Joe Cockers version. I don't mind Aerosmiths version of Come Together. I've got the Sgt Peppers soundtrack album from that movie that came out in the later seventies, with the Bee Gees. It's got some decent covers, but The Beatles version is way better.


Obviously Elvis Presley is the greatest frontman, although he wasn't really so much part of a band. Like you can't say Elton John is a frontman, he's basically the whole act. Same with Elvis.

I'd say (other than Elvis), Jim Morrison is the best frontman ever. That's why the band kept getting introduced as "Jim Morrison and the Doors". You never heard people saying "Roger Daltry and the Who".

Great frontmen like Daltrey have charisma and attitude without collapsing of drug overdoses, fighting Jimi Hendrix, and getting arrested on stage. All that is just a substitute for playing the music.

But it's obvious which direction I'm biased towards anyway.

And a frontman doesn't have to be bigger than his band. There is no need for an introduction as "Roger Daltrey and The Who", because everyone already knows what The Who is about.

Edit: I know we're all too cool for Led Zeppelin, but Robert Plant = Great frontman.

Try their s/t album, and Strange Days. I prefer Strange Days over the s/t, because it feels more consistent, but they're both good.
