Can you guys recommend me some interesting electronica or instrumental hip-hop? Something with some warmth.
What do you think about that new Pinback album? I really couldn't get into it at all, it just felt really average and a rehash of what I heard by them before.
to be honest i think its their weakest album yet and im waiting for it to really really hit me but i think From Nothing to Nowhere is a ****ing amazing track, one of my favorite Pinback songs. How We Breathe, Devil You Know, and Barnes are probably the other highlights on the album for me.. i think some of it sounds sort of cheesy to me, like that "so close to me... a push aawaayyyy..." part in Torch and the "you taste my teeearrss... wee shaare ourr souuullls..." part in Bouquet. their lyrics have never been so direct, and so... lame. theyre usually more cryptic and interesting. but i also like Blue Torch, that's something that sounds different. the new drummer is pretty cool, hes never played with them before, this guy from a pretty good san diego band called No Knife.. also, i think the closer is pretty weak too.. AFK was ****ing amazing, but Off By 50 sounds like its trying to be the same sort of sound but just doesnt hit it. i dont know i still like it and even when the lyrics suck the music is still pretty good, but yea id say its my least favorite Pinback album. like its the first time ive had any negative opinions of any Pinback song, ever. and i've heard everything. but yeah my friend is waiting for me outside my dorm i gtg |

Check out Anomaly. It's nothing you've never heard before but the beats are quality and has that "warmth" that you're looking for. |
