Jev 04-04-2006 03:13 AM

The reverse appears to be happening to me :-/

Chu 04-04-2006 03:26 AM

Yeah, but Dom cheated, a bassist turning guitar is weak. A guitarist turning to bass is a very nice choice.

Jev 04-04-2006 03:30 AM

Normally here Guitarist to Bassist = failed guitarist
Bassist - Guitarist = taking on too many strings to handle.

Can't win either way.

Stoic 04-04-2006 04:03 AM

Happy what's your name?
EDIT
and why you had to change your user name again :(
God its hard when you like a girl so much but you know it will most likely never happen. Thats my trouble at the moment.
why never happen? :(
Yeah, but Dom cheated, a bassist turning guitar is weak. A guitarist turning to bass is a very nice choice
Remember when you told me that it'd be better if dommie stuck with bass since there are more good guitarists than good bassists?

Apocalyptic Raids 04-04-2006 04:48 AM

I like the name change Happy.

Stoic 04-04-2006 04:57 AM

This was his older name anyways...

Apocalyptic Raids 04-04-2006 05:00 AM

I know :p

I'll play some Bee Gees, if it'll cheer you up, my very good friend.

Yeah man, I still stick with that, Dom is an amazing bassist imo, he shouldn't have tried guitar, it's like his darkside..

Riva 04-04-2006 05:40 AM

There are even less great singers in metal now. :-/

A friend of mine is partial to "I hope you get AIDS" and "you're adopted", amongst other things.

He's already landed an adopted guy, and the way things are going an ill-aimed AIDS comment can't be far off.
Nah we don't have it here. At least not where I live.
Is it like Marmite, you either love it or hate it?
Or is it like Irn Bru, the best drink ever?
It's great. My personal replacement for Irn Bru, in the sadly Bru-less land of America.

Riva 04-04-2006 06:14 AM

Marmite is like the poor man's Vegemite.

Shred Danson 04-04-2006 06:24 AM

I hate waking up so goddamned early because can't stop thinking of things.

kurrpt 04-04-2006 06:43 AM

Im sure they LOVE me

Thor 04-04-2006 07:07 AM

If you were in my band I'd bitch at you like there is no tomorrow.

I'm in my English class right now and I'm supposed to be doing some research on All Quiet on the Western Front, but I mean, come on. MX is always here to make sure I don't do my work. :)

kurrpt 04-04-2006 07:14 AM

if i were in your band, i wouldnt want to skip your practice, because there wouldnt be emo vocals, and just the thrashing of drop D power chords

the "mastermind" wanted to change practices from 2 to 3 days a week. Thats fine for him i guess, but theres no way in hell im driving out there 3 times. I can practice this gay sh!t at home

This is just a suggestion, but you could always quit. It doesn't sound like you're having much fun.

Slapping Penguin 04-04-2006 07:21 AM
Yeah, but Dom cheated, a bassist turning guitar is weak. A guitarist turning to bass is a very nice choice.
Haha. The good thing is, is I have a special spot for bass now so when I write muisc I feel my bass lines are good because they branch out from the guitar as I understand the potential of the instrument more.
why never happen?
Oh you know bud how it is with ladies. They are so hard and well, I just know there are more desrible men in her life :upset:

Hang on your greek, why am I talking to you about ladies. Your feelings only extend to men.

(sorry sorry, I cower poor taste jokes Oh god don't hit me)

No Orestesy, we are just two poor loveless death metal listening extremely attractive muscly birds in a nest.
Remember when you told me that it'd be better if dommie stuck with bass since there are more good guitarists than good bassists?
Yes, I agree but I really feel guitar is more me. There too many guitarest who should be bassist etc. I just know guitar is more me.
Yeah man, I still stick with that, Dom is an amazing bassist imo, he shouldn't have tried guitar, it's like his darkside..
Dude, serious I am not. I am a much better guitarist. Yes I know you want me on guitar but know we have bassist we will carve up. I am much more of a guitar guy. Sorry matt but I should be alot better at bass now then I am. It just was not my forte. (sorry for horrible spelling and grammar etc, its late)

Apocalyptic Raids 04-04-2006 07:22 AM

I think you should just quit and form a band with the other dude who you said you liked.

kurrpt 04-04-2006 07:23 AM
This is just a suggestion, but you could always quit. It doesn't sound like you're having much fun.
haha, i know man..

in all actuality, i just "joined" last week. I would like to steal the other guitarist from that band, and start our own thing. Hes into the same music I am, and would compliment my playing very well. Hes rhythm, me on lead...

my girl kinda thinks i should stick with it to see where it goes.

i feel i get no benefit from playing this kind of music, so obviously im not too keen on the idea

Shred Danson 04-04-2006 07:26 AM

If you feel you get no benefit, what's the point? If you're not loving it absolutely, what's the point?

Solution: Start a new band, blow old band out of the sky.

Thor 04-04-2006 07:28 AM

My thoughts exactly. The key point to being in a band is having fun, so if you're not doing that then you should quit ASAP.

thats really what i want to do. I had the other guy over last week, was supposed to call the day after to have a repeat jam session but i never got the call. He called Friday. it pretty much played out like this

him : hey man, you go out much?

Me : nah. If i was going to drink, i would just buy a case and bring it back home (cause i suck like that)

him : O........well, how about we jam tomorrow at noon

never showed up

Thor 04-04-2006 07:31 AM

That's what drinking does to you man. My band has sort of said that we're only going to drink if there's nothing coming up.

There's nothing worse than having a drunk bandmate. :)

True, very true.

I went to another local band's practice session the other day, and two of the guys in the band were drunk and one was busy checking himself out in the mirrors (he's a new guy in the band and he thinks he's the shit, hah). One other was tired as hell and the singer was just looking so frustrated. It pisses me off that some people don't take their music seriously, don't act like they give a damn about it. Practice isn't a time for bull****ting or getting drunk, especially when you have a big show lined up.

I'll be right back, I guess, I'm going to go hope in the shower. Don't know why I'm telling you all that...

Well, I'm off for the rest of the school day. I'll see you all this afternoon.
