hey everyone! how are you all doing? :)

Permanent Solution 02-11-2005 02:49 PM
That's a raw deal, good luck, though :)

8-pager on "Plunkitt and Tammany Hall" for American History
Lesson planning for education and diversity in education
Prepare oral presentation for education
Read for my Honors class
Revise paper

Bleh, and all the stuff I have to do is on the computer, so that means I'll be posting on MX instead of concentrating on my paper/lesson planning :(
All the answers are on my computer...so same deal here. The paper will be lame, this teacher (honors) gives you an ambiguous quote dealing with power and ambition and says to analyze it in relation to one event in a book we read this semester. 5 pages. Plus another paper on this PBS program on slavery in the US for the same class...I hate honors hah.

What is your education class though? As in preperation for teaching?

Broken Arrow 02-11-2005 02:58 PM

I think I passed my music test today.
Words...lots of words
Yeah, that makes sense, sounds very time consuming though. What are you planning on teaching/what is your major?

Permanent Solution 02-11-2005 03:13 PM

Ah, very cool...I could never teach high school heh, but good luck with that anyways. It seems like you're pretty focused though, so it sounds great, are you going to be out of school in four years, or is it a longer degree?

Permanent Solution 02-11-2005 03:20 PM

Ah see, I never dreamed of being a pro-athlete because I suck at sports, but I intend on being a roc...nah, I am actually looking to become a sound engineer, so I'll be minoring in music, and majoring in Electrical Engineering. The nice thing about it is that if I end up not liking my job, EE still has tons of career options and is a very flexible and desireable degree. It should be a 4 year program and then 1-3 years at grad school depending on the program I apply to and the depth of it.

I'm curious though, what are you majoring in now if you aren't in the College of Education? Which school are you in?

Anarchick 02-11-2005 03:27 PM

lol i'm gonna be a rockstar lol actually its inevitable i'm not good at anything else... hmmmm **** that reminds me i have a chem test to study for and i have to write a paper on nepleon....****it!

xizoesira 02-11-2005 03:34 PM

Whee, a Windows XP Pro CD. Reformatting time!
More words
Yeah, it seems like a really nice job and I think I would really enjoy it, but if I don't I'll still have other uses for my degree which is great.

Ah see, here you apply to the College of Education from the start, and that's where your major is based. Seems fairly easy to get in though, so seems like a good deal. I have to keep a 3.4 to stay enrolled here :(

That program seems really career centered, which is great if you know that is definitely what you want to do it will give you a good boost once you apply for employment.

EDIT: That makes sense, curriculum seems to weed out half the engineers haha. Half of our class dropped out of Physics first semester and another half of that didn't take it second semester.

jpj 02-11-2005 03:40 PM

There a lot of long posts on this page which I did not read, and I have no idea what the disussion is about.

So how is everybody?

Permanent Solution 02-11-2005 03:43 PM
At least you have a fallback plan in your arsenal, too.

A 3.4 seems a bit steep, but hopefully it isn't too bad. All I know is that it was a hell of a lot easier to keep a 3.4 in high school than it is in college :(

 @ your edit. It seems calloused, but it's true...
Yeah, I thought it was a good idea.

Yeah, I have a 3.7 right now, so crossing my fingers haha. I wish honors classes were still weighted :(

Yeah...but now the curve is going up, no good haha.

Six Foot Revolver 02-11-2005 03:45 PM

I'm fine thanks

jpj 02-11-2005 03:47 PM
Sup jpj

The long posts are college **** and explaining how my courses are.
Nothing much going on here. I'm only a freshman in highschool so...yea.

Permanent Solution 02-11-2005 03:47 PM

Ah yes, I loved weighting. Kept my 3.3 looking less bad by making it a 4.0 heh.

jpj 02-11-2005 03:49 PM

We don't have weighted grades here, so theoretically a kid in all L.D. classes could get validictorian over someone with all honors classes and one B.

Oh I did too, but I much prefer the freedoms in college.

Otherside 02-11-2005 04:46 PM

I would despise highschool if I had to wear a uniform. I can't wait for college.
