oh man, Bedouin Soundclash and Ben Harper...orgasmic albums...and, they're playing a show in Vancouver...together, in May...I am so stoked.

Janeway 03-04-2006 04:58 PM

So...
My final S.H.I.P. trip is 35 minutes away from where I live, 15 from where I go to school. I was hoping for NYC, but thanks to all of the idiots in the world, it isn't gonna happen.
Hmph.
I need to make it interesting.

Motleyguy 03-04-2006 05:00 PM

schwat is S.H.I.P.?

Janeway 03-04-2006 05:04 PM

State History Interest Project.

I only go because we get to be away from home, totally unsupervised for two nights and three days. Last year our supervisor got pissed, so I'm assuming it'll happen again this year, and I'm thinking about going running around the city the entire night.

Motleyguy 03-04-2006 05:07 PM

Nice. Galavanting is always fun

Janeway 03-04-2006 05:10 PM

Indeed.

Motleyguy 03-04-2006 05:15 PM

I was in at the music shop, and the drummer section guy was like 50 but wicked cool, we talked for hours going over gear and stuff, he keeps on getting me deals on the stuff when ever Im thinkng about getting it lol. And he taught me some cool riffs on the electric set. but wow, the guy was wicked nice, he gave me his email because his words were (greatest thing I have ever heard about my drumming) "You Sir, Are A Child Prodigy" haha, like yeh im decent but nowheres near prodigy haha, I know I know he was rry to ahve rambled on like that without using paragraphs lol, im in a hurry.

oliv_da_skinmasher 03-04-2006 07:05 PM

my teacher once called me Mr. bozzio and to this day i still cant figure out why.

Janeway 03-04-2006 08:54 PM

I could never just walk away from my girlfriend.
Even if she was screwing a guy.
I'd get on my knees and bawl until she felt so bad that she had to stay with me. And if she didn't, I'd stalk her until she loved me again.
If she never loved me again, I'd kill her.

I want me some iced tea.
Original wood tip :)
awesome man. i like the evo sticks with the wood tip. amazing clarity and rebound.

officer doofy 03-04-2006 10:15 PM

so who on here knows anything about wooden rims for snare drums? my teacher brought in his set the other day and his snare had a wood rim on it. I thought it would be one of those upgrades that is pure preference, buts it's just better than a metal rim, plain and simple. rim clicks sound amazing and loud, and the sweet spot is humongous. anybody have any experience with these?

I too have liked the ones Ive tried very much. Its about a 60$ upgrade though. And, yes it is preference and Im sure each have advantages though I cant think of any.:smoke:

Panopticon 03-04-2006 10:17 PM

check out the anton fig and akira jimbo sig snares...they have wood hots and they are totally sexy...IMO it gives the snare a slightly softer sound...

rockindrummer 03-05-2006 01:30 AM

morning all,

firefox decided to delete my history, bookmarks and shortcuts >.<

damn it

poppinfresh 03-05-2006 02:19 AM

that happened to me too. i just got it back a few days ago just randomly. it doesnt let oyu go back to default profile because its n00b but then it happens again later.

so the jazz band thing went well. I played the sound check and i mega sucked the solo, it fit but it wasnt mega shred. so then at the real thing the empty spot came in and i did some syncopated hits that fit, then i realized that it sucked so i closed it with some shred on the snare and floor tom and it worked. Then i had another one and i did the same thing. so it worked. and i looked beautiful and people kept telling my mom how handsome i was.
