Tommy is definitly the best Who album (Whos Next is second). And as the best Who album one of the greatest albums ever ;)

I got it a few months ago.
Your God Damn right it is.

PinkFreud 04-15-2005 02:07 PM

uh, i like quadrophenia and the who sing my generation the best. but i might be the only one.

RockAndRoll 04-15-2005 02:08 PM

I like tommy better.

Badmoon 04-15-2005 02:17 PM

I also prefer Tommy.

Illmatic 04-15-2005 02:48 PM

IMO My Generation is the best.

Danger Bird 04-15-2005 02:49 PM

Am I the only one who thinks Sgt. Pepper's is just a teensy bit overrated?

Illmatic 04-15-2005 02:53 PM

I think Sgt. Pepper's is waaaaay overrated.

Badmoon 04-15-2005 02:59 PM

It unfairly overshadows better Beatles albums, but I definitely like it and definitely would give it a 5/5.

classicrockielzpfvh 04-15-2005 03:01 PM
I also prefer Tommy.
basskeith 04-15-2005 03:02 PM
uh, i like quadrophenia and the who sing my generation the best. but i might be the only one.
Quadrophenia is my favorite Who album undoubtably.

And though Sgt Peppers might be overated, i still think its the beatles best. IMO, yellow submarine is overated. I really cant stand that album...But still love instrumentals

Distant Echoes 04-15-2005 03:14 PM

Well since theres no point in reviving the Rush thread, since the only responses in there are "i like/looooove Rush. [this song] rocks!", i figured id post this here. Pretty interesting fact...
The Origin of the title "YYZ"?
------------------------------
YYZ is the airport code for Toronto Canada. If you ever travel to
Toronto, you'll notice the "YYZ" on your baggage ticket. The intro
to this song on the crotale is based on the letters Y Y Z in Morse
code. In Morse code, the letter Y is "-.--" (dash dot dash dash)
and the letter Z is "--.." (dash dash dot dot). Thus, YYZ becomes:
"-.---.----.." or
"dash dot dash dash dash dot dash dash dash dash dot dot".
sorry if this has already been brought up.

magicbus 04-15-2005 03:43 PM

Does anybody know Black Crowed? Because they're playing with Tom Petty in July and my friend wants to go.

Most of us are fans of the Black Crowes, I think. They are a fantastic Jam Band, and definitely can be counted as Classic Rock (Though they do not match the dates, they have the sound).

:)

This makes me even more excited to go. There's one summer concert I can look forward to.

lunch998 04-15-2005 04:36 PM

So today I got Santana's S/t, Volunteers, and Nashville Skyline.

Badmoon 04-15-2005 04:37 PM

It was a soundtrack to the Yellow Submarine movie, IIRC

MalcolmYoungRock 04-15-2005 05:06 PM

I'm burning Let It Be...Naked right now.

I don't have Fly on the Wall though.

ATM 04-15-2005 05:16 PM

White Album > Sgt. Peppers.

Just my opinion, folks.

lunch998 04-15-2005 05:26 PM

I think Sgt. Pepper's is overrated too.

I posted this in the Beatles thread by the way.

Badmoon 04-15-2005 05:55 PM

Drive By Truckers - The Dirty South
Bob Marely - African Herbsman
Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters

I've been wanting to get that, I heard it's an excellent fusion/funk album.

Badmoon 04-15-2005 05:58 PM

I'll send it to you sometime, if you want.

Woodstock 04-15-2005 05:59 PM

Sure, that'd be great.

ConnectiveTissue 04-15-2005 07:03 PM

"And now, a 'nice' rock and roll band; from Sheperds Bush London, The Who..."

Lunch998 will know where that one's from.:)

MYR 04-15-2005 07:17 PM

My guess is either Live at Leeds or if they every played at the Ed Sullivan show, there.
I have Nothing Is Easy:Live at the Isle Of Wight. It dominates.
My dad has a Tull DVD from the lat 90's or maybe like 2001. It's pretty cool, but they go to an interview in the middle of the Aqualung solo and the bass solo in Bouree. I mean wtf?

Also some of Nashville Skyline is too country for me, but some of it I love.

Badmoon 04-15-2005 07:26 PM

What album should I review (I know I shouldn't be asking this here, I know what you'll pick)

Bob Weir - Ace
Bob Marley & The Wailers - Exodus
Bob Marley & The Wailers - Catch a Fire
Peter Tosh - Legalize It

jpj 04-15-2005 07:29 PM

I'd like you to review Ace.
