how do you upload your part onto here?
Upload it to somewhere, then post the link. http://www.soundclick.com is a good place, but there are others. |
I think it'll be tough for some threads though. Like vocals in the Maiden thread and drummer(s) in Slipknot. But that's too bad.
Many people flamed joey when he did that drum solo, so let's see them show their skills now. |
I think it'll be tough for some threads though. Like vocals in the Maiden thread and drummer(s) in Slipknot. But that's too bad.
I've got a friend who can record drums for Slipknot. He's a ****ing beast, he plays Slayer songs in his spare time. :thumb: Vocals for Maiden would be tough though. ...If we are having a contest, we need to do a harder song than Seek and Destroy. Your thoughts would be nice. |
Battery. If you ruin it, then it won't be any worse than doing Seek and Destroy in a mediocre fashion. If you pull it off, then my fucking God, it will be sweet. The intro harmonies = sweetness.
|
Or something like Master of Puppets. It's a cool enough song that is really impossible to mess up, and if it's pulled off it'll be pretty sweet.
The intro harmonies = sweetness.
lol agreed, it's one of my favorite intros along with FTB and Blackened and some others |

He was earlier, but he hasn't been for quite some time now. |
Boo sucks, you're making me want to have a go at Battery now, lol. I'll have to stay out of this thread while its going on so I don't get jealous! :p
And that intro is sweetness. I recorded it with loads of tracks all on bass once just for a laugh, heh, that intro can't be beaten, on a quality stereo (to bring out the acousticness), with enough volume. Not that it has to be too loud, just loud enough. Good times... :smash: |
If I had to pick a harder song I wouldn't want to do Battery. I would rather do Creeping Death or The Thing That Should Not Be.
Someone bump my cover band thread back up. :thumb: |
Consider it bumped.
|
Thing is... Creeping Death is even simpler than Seek and Destroy... Would I be right in saying this will be quite a popularity contest too? If so, then I'm aware a lot of people don't like TTTSNB (don't get me wrong, I think its great).
Call of Ktulu would be pretty slick, especially the lead bass licks :) |
Creeping Death's a favourite, from alot of people, even non-Metallica fans, as far as I know.
I wouldn't mind doing the vocals for that either :) |

Grrr. Ok, I will learn 3 songs. Seek and Destroy, Creeping Death and The Thing That Should Not Be. I think everyone should do the same, and when we have learnt them, we can decide which song would be best for us to do, you get me?
|
Well I'm already done if those are the 3 that we are going to decide on.
|
I think that the thing should not be would be far too simple, but if that is what is decided on, I could easily do it. too easily.
Edit: For guitar that is. seek and destroy, i know could do rythm, my 24 fret guitar isnt here :upset: and I could learn creeping death, but I would much rather do others..... |
Aren't you willing to learn any new songs, Metal_head?
:smash: |
Aren't you willing to learn any new songs, Metal_head?
:smash:
agreed. different songs would be good....master of puppets would be a smashing good time, easy but cool. |
Hmm. The Four Horsemen would be pretty immense too.
|
The new Metallica song Im learning is Bleeding Me it is a very good song and has a kick *** solo too.
I need to go down half a step but I dont want too I still want to play all the standard tuning Metallica songs too. One, MOP, Creaping Death, Fade to Black... sounds the same in standard. |
The Four Horsemen would be awesome, but it would be hard. Thats my vote. I dont think The Thing that should not be is a good idea. It gets boring.
And also can anyone who wants to post a recording and then some1 chooses the best one? |
What kind of recording programs do you guys use?
|
It might be a little hard, but you have to beat what the other official threads are putting out...
:smash: |
We have a good chance at winning because there are so many Metallica fans on MX.
OK, we need to begin voting. Everyone please say which song you want for us to cover. |
We should find out what song we are doing and figure out the BPM so everyone can set a metronome when they record. It would be incredibly helpful.
My Votes 1. The Four Horseman 2 Creeping death seek and destrow |
*Sneaks behind Metal_Head and shanks him* Long Live the Opeth Thread! We'll destroy you!
