i dont get Deathcore, and I don't want to.
Not even Embrace The End, The End Of Six Thousand Years, and Whisteria Cottage? Those bands are so ill tbh.

Txus 08-10-2009 06:50 PM

I've never heard those bands, Mappy.

I listened to TEOSTY... they were basically TBDM with more hardcore influences and a touch of post metal. And Whisteria Cottage I didn't like that much. Embrace the End's vocals bugged me... the best "deathcore" band is Through the Eyes of the Dead even though you could call them melo-death with hardcore influences.

hismajestythepope 08-10-2009 06:52 PM

I could've sworn I showed you The End Of Six Thousand Years and you said you liked them.

Regardless,

@ Kyle: I wouldn't consider TTEOTD to be hardcore influenced tbh.

As for ETE and Whisteria Cottage, those bands have two of my favorite vocalists ever tbh.

Especially ETE, Jesse Alford is the ****ing man.

adb 08-10-2009 06:54 PM

I had a dream last night where H&D had a youtube account and he was a fat mexican kid

wish I was joking

hismajestythepope 08-10-2009 06:55 PM

Cool story bro.

Txus 08-10-2009 06:56 PM

 yeah i listened to the end of six thousand years, i forget the names, haha. It's not bad, def not bad musicians, but I don't see myself listening to that type of music to be honest.

The other two bands were not that good :(

nevertoolate 08-10-2009 06:57 PM

Animosity seem to get left out of lists, they are one of the best

Embrace The End is freaking great mayne. Niggas got mad skills.

Trust me, download Ley Lines and listen to it all the way through a few times, that album is probably the best deathcore album ever... probably because it's pretty much just experimental metalcore with a few dm parts.

Oh no dude I like TEOSTY... I'm just stating what I got from it lol. And maybe I should give Embrace the End another chance. I like some of Whisteria's riffs... but compared to the Scars of Ages it's mediocre.

hismajestythepope 08-10-2009 07:02 PM

Whisteria Cottage is awesome to me because they have a lot of great traditional dm riffs and some freaking sweet *** melodic parts. And their vocalist is great. I love how swishy and low his growls are, and his shrieks are just BA.

xMalcolmXx 08-10-2009 07:02 PM

counting hallways to the left is my favorite ete. carbombs and conversations/after me the floods are so good.

hismajestythepope 08-10-2009 07:03 PM

I like Counting Hallways To The Left a lot too, but it gets really really samey after Headlines And Death Tolls until later in the album.

Biography Of A Fever, Headlines And Death Tolls, and Father's Right Hand (My Lai) are my favorites on that album.

Also, NP: Carbombs and Conversations

My favorite melodic deathcore release is probably TBDM's WAHNTHAC demo... and thats really the only breakdowns they have (minus a select few on Unhallowed and Miasma). That demo is just ****ing epic.

hismajestythepope 08-10-2009 07:18 PM

IDK, that demo's alright, not really my cup-o-tea though. Burning Down The Hive is an awesome song though.

2muchket! 08-10-2009 07:43 PM

Animosity are one of the few DC bands I really really like still.

True story.

I love Animal... but can't get into their other stuff.

hismajestythepope 08-10-2009 07:47 PM

Empires >>>>> Animal tbh.
Empires >>>>> Animal tbh.
I tried it man.. but the intensity of Animal gets me every time.

2muchket! 08-10-2009 07:48 PM

Empires is iller than Animal but lets take it to the DC thread bros.

I urge anyone who hasn't still to get the new Evita album. It's pretty good like.

cvlts 08-10-2009 07:58 PM

Krogan scum is back.

Animal>Empires.

xMalcolmXx 08-10-2009 08:02 PM

nahhhhh

i couldn't get into animal as much as their other stuff. it goes empires > shut it down > animal for me. i still like animal and all, but i just like their other stuff a lot more.

nice

cvlts 08-10-2009 08:19 PM

its hard for me to listen to shut it down, mostly cause of the horrible production from a young band with potential.
empires saw them use that potential
and animals saw them perfect it.

RetiredAt21 08-10-2009 08:57 PM

Animals is good, never listened to anything else.

HighandDriving 08-10-2009 08:57 PM

Empres>Animals>>>>>>>>>>Shut It Down.

They owe us an album this year.
