I've got plenty of that as well. :) I love playing Celtic music. It's a melodic mine all too often unexploited by rock musicians, I've always thought.
You have plenty of just straight up guitar acoustic Celtic stuff? If so...upload a few tracks for me from good artists? It would be most appreciated.

For this song you just uploaded, I really like how it is very ambient and doesn't focus on just one insturment. Also the bass is a big part of the song though, it has a quite cool bass line going to complement the ambient insturments. The bass also had my woofer constantly pushing air so it felt like it was a fan on my foot heh.

:thumb: That's "The Dream of Talesin." It came off the compilation "Celtic Inspirations," and anything by them is worth picking up. I have a Christmas CD by them that's awesome. :)
Is that an album? I just did a quick search for it and can't seem to find anything with that particular song on it.

Anyway, since I have a little money this week, I went and ordered the Glenn Weiser Celtic Encyclopedia at a local music shop. I had heard good things about it, decided to give it a try.
Is it new or something?
No, it's a demo album from sometime in the early 90's, it's got the songs Proud, Camel Song, Same Man, Kick The PA, Sean Olson, Arizona, and Daddy on it.

Josh 04-17-2005 02:03 PM

Evening all.

i've never really liked Korn that much, the only song by them i really like is here to stay.
NP: black sabbath - hole in the sky.
and now i'm going to watch 24 :)
'Night all

superpeer 04-17-2005 02:17 PM

I like a handful of Korn songs, but I don't like Follow the leader at all. Some Korn songs are awesome though.

Endless Obsession 04-17-2005 02:18 PM

I never really got into Korn. I have there first album which is pretty sweet, it just was always to boring for me.

Kurtz 04-17-2005 02:20 PM

I used to be huge on Korn. Used to love 'em.

Then I sort of grew out of them.

superpeer 04-17-2005 02:26 PM

I've seen them live, which was actually pretty good. Because I like their singles, just not any of the filler crap on most of their albums (no offense 11) :)

BoboTheRagingHobo 04-17-2005 02:46 PM

Hey kiddies! You know what time it is?

It is time to laugh at Jelle's favorite bands from his home country time!
My name is Ted, indifferent to laws I strangle and main women January 4 ramming the bedrod into her cottered vagina Incapable, defined is the hatred that led to this carnage

Infested by love, a stone cold killer Hacking and gnashing without remorse Pipe fed to her cave, blinded by rage I lacerate her lie spreading throat

Again I hack, enjoying every blow I batter her cunt into pulp

Victims are idealized, a predestined massacre Invaginated by the bedrod, crushing the uterus

Strangulation is not enough, brutally I swing the pole Into her meaty beefhole, injaculating thrill, i'm in for the kill... Force fed is my will, the pole rests in her vagina still

Infested by love, a stone cold killer Hacking and gnashing without remorse Pipe fed to her cave, blinded by rage I lacerate her lie spreading throat
Agreed. Some parts of that were so bad that it almost made me laugh. They still could be a good band nevertheless.

Edit: So they are supsoed to be funny...

\m/Pete\m/ 04-17-2005 02:53 PM

Those are some of the most pathetic lyrics since Cannibal Corpse's "Devoured by Vermin"

NP: S.O.A.D. - Byob

I cant get enough of this song

Yeah, it's pretty beautiful.

I'm trying to think of a good Celtic piece to upload, but I can't think of a truly awe-inspiring one. I have a lot of awe-inspiring acoustic playing, but not all of it is Celtic. :-/ I'll get back to you.

They're poor comedy lyrics too. Not as poor as the ones in S&L, but still subpar.

I like gorey details. :)

Besides, who cares about the lyrics in Brutal Death metal, it's not like you can understand them.

I like when people say they can make out what they are saying. There are points where you can hear some anunciation, but man its like putting your ear next to a subwoofer and trying to say you can tell what frequency its playing.

But I still like Death Metal

True, true. I've never really cared about death metal lyrics, I've more thought of the vocals as another instrument. Especially in Lord Worm's case when it's litteraly "uh wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh reeaah!"

Steerpike 04-17-2005 03:14 PM

I need some good books on counter culture. Any recommendations?

You see, I go into weird periods erratically. I'm either on a creative spike, down time, or sponge mode. The first two are self-explanatory. But once I get into sponge mode, I need to take in as much as I can. Books, music, movies, anything. And lately I've been looking to broaden my horizons so I'm buying the Celtic Enyclopedia, some Jimmy Cliff albums, and "What is Goth?" by Voltaire this week.

Any contributions that I should look into? Over the last two days I've expanded my Amazon.com wishlist by over 4 pages, and I'm still looking for more.

There's a lot of Death Metal where you can hear what the vocalists says.
Only to the trained ear, my mom found it amazing i could understand what they were saying.
If you read the lyrics a couple of times, it's pretty easy. A lot of less brutal bands are easy without reading lyrics.

lunch998 04-17-2005 03:42 PM

After reading the lyrics, everything makes sense.

pigonthewing82 04-17-2005 03:50 PM

Hey has anybody in here ever seen the moive Dig? It is really REALLY good, its the best documentary I have ever seen. It compares two psychedelic bands The Dandy Warhols, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre (the band I haven't been able to shut up about for the last month or so).

When im in the car with her she lets me listen to what i want, as long as she gets to choose a reasonable volume. If im on good terms with her i will pop in Pink Floyd or Hendrix, or something she likes.

When im not on good terms with her in goes Mayhem.

lunch998 04-17-2005 03:58 PM

It would be awkward to listen to Death Metal with my parents, for me at least. We usually enjoy the same music :/

I'm a dork.

Yeah, I know the feeling, I often battle with my g/f over the radio, If i am really nice, she might just let me put on Seek and destroy, or maybe fade to black (Quietly!)
If she is angry its normally Evanescene of Avril Lavigne really loud

Again I hack, enjoying every blow I batter her cunt into pulp

^ They have to be the most obscene lyrics i have ever read! Great though lol
I thought Metallica's cover of 'So What' was bad!!! I was by far wrong about that lol.
