Is the new dvd worth getting???
Definitely. It has its pros and cons but I'd say it is a good buy. Also, I'm currently stuck on the song Zero-Sum. I can't get over how great it is! |
Is the new dvd worth getting???
It's easily one of the greatest live videos ever made. The sound is just incredible. |
It's okay. Underwhelming as hell.
|
I have to agree, And All That Could Have Been is much better.
|
I love Amazon.co.uk. This arrived in the post this afternoon from NIN's record company, after being won through an Amazon competition.

Just got done reading that interview and wow, Trent is pretty damn mad/upset about the whole music industry and label bullshit. It's a pretty interesting interview..thought I'd post it on here. Talks about how future NIN albums might be released, that is if Trent doesn't decide to just stop recording altogether. Looks like he owes his label one more album and that's it...maybe we'll see the resurrection of his own label, NOTHING? :p |
I worry about the future of NIN music after he said that he didn't want to use major labels.
|
^Yeah, no kidding. I don't think Trent can just stop working though..he's a goddamn workaholic! :p:
Anyway, I just got done reading some interview they have up at the NINHotline...First thing I read was this:
Reznor positioned the new NIN album, Year Zero, as the first in a trilogy, but says he has been sidetracked from the second installment
 ....A trilogy?! I thought there was only suppose to be two parts to this album. This is great!
"But some interesting things have come up in terms of turning this into another format of entertainment, like a television show or a movie. I've had some meetings with A-list people I'm interested in possibly working with.
A Television show?! Nice! And A-list people...I wonder who.
"I haven't written any new music for this yet, I literally haven't had a second to do that. That's what I'm doing when I get home. But I don't expect it to sound like Year Zero did. It won't be another 15 songs from that same vibe."
This should all be very interesting. Wonder if the album will be a little more optimistic...Looking forward to this all. |
I cant get enough of Year Zero, it is definitly a grower.
|
THE NEW NINE INCH NAILS MUSIC->YEAR ZERO< IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUM'S IVE HEARD IN YEARS. WE ALL MUST SUPPORT ARTIST WHO FIGHT THE SYSTEM AND DO THINGS ACCORDING TO WHAT'S IN THERE HEART. THIS IS A MAGICAL PIECE OF WORK AND I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU DO ANYTHING YOU CAN TO GET YOUR HANDS ON IT.
--NIKKI SIXX
Just saw this as a bulletin on MySpace posted by Nikki Sixx. Supporting NIN..very cool, if you ask me.:p: |
Trent is an amazing person, I just got into lisening to NIN about a year ago and when Year Zero came out I was really impressed. I've read interviews with him and he is a great, intellegent speaker and is very good at proving a point=) (a very good point at that) very nice spread of albums they have, and I can't wait to hear more.
|
Next year...next year. As for now I'm still enjoying Year Zero very much.
And I'm still very stuck on the song Zero Sum...by far my favorite track off the album. |
Reznor is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for the musical direction of the band.
I never knew that before...so is he the only one who records NIN's records? or does he have other people playing instruments and stuff during his recording sessions? |
Depends.
|
yes, he is the only one... during the tours he has musicians who play the songs...
|
Oh cool, so if he has musicians helping him in the studio and on tours then why doesn't he just create an official band? You know, so he wouldn't have to constantly find new ppl to help him.
EDIT: Oh, I just saw that you said that he is the only one in the studio :/. So how does he do that then? Does he just use overdubbing or something? |
why should he? through this he has 100% control over his music... he is doing the drums, guitars, electronics, bass, etc. and so he can create exactly the music he has in his mind!!
|
he actually writes all the stuff basically.
why limit yourself to only having it be expressed through one prism of band members? |
Oh ya, that makes sense. I always new Trent was talented but I never new he was this talented - I'm impressed.
|
yeah... not everyone can do it... playing an instrument is one thing, but composing whole albums is another thing...
|

I think he actually uses a drum machine for most or all of the "drums" . . . but he does play everything else. |
I've seen NINE INCH NAILS yesterday :D
my sister won tickets for the FM4 Frequency Festival in Salzburg. So we went there for free and yesterday NIN played. their song-collections was fantastic!! hold on your breath... Something i Can Never Have Burn Dead Souls La Mer Gave Up March of the Pigs (with some elements from PHM) Terrible Lie/Sin (i'm not sure) Head Like a Hole Closer alone Burn, Dead Souls AND La Mer live was more than worth it... in addition he played "the hand that feeds" and 3 songs of his new album, which i still don't have. Trent Reznor was pissed off once again, cause of stupid austria and fans: (this was after Closer) "Okay, so what's going on here? Let me guess, we got booked between two German bands and you are all just so ****ing bored. Maybe someone put something in your Wiener Schnitzel... you know, what assholes... you assholes are some fukking stupid... PIGS" ... great interlude for the March :D btw. on wednesday tool was the headliner, but they had to cancel it... keenan got sick... its the 4th time in my life that i miss Tool :upset: |
Everyone stood around looking bored?
|
yes; i was at the wide-screen some 200metres away from the stage.
the problem was that "Beatsteaks" (a famous german band) played before NIN, then NIN and afterwards "Die Ärzte" played and this is a fukking cult-legend-band for all austrian and german ppl. most of the ppl in the first rows weren't NIN-Fans, those were Ärzte-Fans... to stupid for NIN :( |
Shame.
I can't fuckin' wait for NIN to tour for Year Zero here in the US. I also just saw the cover for the Year Zero remix album. Anyone know when this is suppose to be out? Honestly, I'm not too psyched about this fan remix album. I having a feeling it's gonna end up being a mediocre album. Hope I'm wrong though..We'll see. |
All of his remix albums are terrible to mediocre.
|
I would kill to see The Great Destroyer live.
