10th: What Chris says about work in the IT industry is quite true - a lot of people don't want to take on a new kid. Having some sort of degree or diploma really helps, and experience is just, if not more, important. Try to get some work experience in while you're at school (/hopes you're still at school), and go for any IT based opportunities you can get as well (for instance, when you were in year ten, you could've gone for a Fellowship - getting one of those gets you a grant, great experience, and seeing only 36 people get them, looks great on your resume). Designing sites for people - even for free - is a great asset too.
But as a lot of people will tell you, make yourself interesting and don't get bogged down soley by computers. Like, be good at IT, but don't make it the only thing in your life that you can put on a CV, you know? Showing that you're a good person in a range of aspects will get you a job that some nerd with the same qualifications (or maybe even some slightly better ones) as you won't... depends on the employer of course, but this tends to be the case.

I just realised something.
This girl I work with. She's about my age, quite pretty, a very nice girl (her sister is an absolute stunner as well).
But I was sure that the first I had ever met her was when I started working where I am.
But just now it has suddenly clicked..I know this girl, i went to college with her, she was in my year. I even think we had a physics class together.

I'm still active at work.
We had a bit of a crisis today... Someone (not me - honest) accidentally overwrote a csv file with about two months (several thousand entries) of data in it, with another one that was blank.
So that's gone now... Some IT people are seeing if they can restore from last nights tape backup, so here's hoping it's not a full write off.
Kinda funny tho.

I haven't been playing much guitar recently. To be honest.
I just havent had much spare time.
So I haven't even looked into any theory. I'm still scared of it.
But I did pick up the acoustic for a few moments last night and tried to have a go at learning this:

I took 5 (no frees for me); Physics, Electronics, Chemistry, AMths, further maths. I can't wait to be shot of chemistry at the end of this year, it's not my kinda subject at all.

I take Maths, Physics, Chemistry, computing and French. I wanted to take Futher Maths but I couldn't get in the class, so now I have to drop two subjects next year to take up further maths AS so I have a hope in hells chance of being accepted by Cambridge.

Speaking of overwriting, let me tell you about what happened in Tutorial last week...
Our school uses up one of our study periods with a year 11 assembly each week where they present a range of information, workshops, etc. So this particular week we had nothing else so the teachers put on a rather lame video on risk-taking. /shnores.
It went on for about 40 minutes and then at the end, the guy was summing up
"So go on... Take a risk.... Go apply for a job, try a new sport, ask someone out on a date -" "- knit socks for soldiers"
Someone had taped over the end with a war time documentry, and there was practically no delay between the words of the speakers on the two different shows. T'was classic.

Good ol' Tommy - he's a great guy. Sweet rendition there - should be fun to play :).

In other news me and a couple of physics buddies "won" a competition today (2 teams got through out of 5 and we were one)

the competition was about explainin science to a non-scientist, we did E=mc^2

It was good fun, we have to do it again for a regional final on 21st
