I think he is just saying they both aren't very listenable artists which is very true
Ahh, yes. I misread :( sowy

Hmm, I can't see how can they be unlistenable but....ok. Opinions are opinions after all.

Josh: Bjork is not a band :amaze:

I'm a mood-based listener. If I'm the wrong mood for a band I can't a band/artist at all, even if it's my favourite song in the world, the wrong mood and I'll stop it.

Iluvatar 09-02-2008 06:54 PM

Bjork is pretty lame. Sigur Ros makes good music but the reason I don't put them in the league of elite post-rockers is I can't actually listen to their music more than once or twice in a month really. Good tunes.

I'm a big fan of Quarashi as well when it comes to Icelandic music but I don't think anyone cares about them anymore

Txus 09-02-2008 06:55 PM

Why is she lame?

Btw, Ólafur Arnalds is the best Icelandic musician ever...not Bjork or Sigur Ros.

Aaron 09-02-2008 07:01 PM

As far as production goes Kashmir are pretty chill.

edit; my world just died:

she is faux crazy and has an annoying voice and makes quasi-intellectual pop music that fails at both being interesting and catchy?

Iluvatar 09-02-2008 07:05 PM

wait did you just do what I think you did!

Deth 09-02-2008 07:09 PM

I've really gotten into Bjork the past 3 months or so. I don't like her first few albums, but after that, I adore her stuff.

Ólafur Arnalds is great, but I don't like him as much as Bjork or Sigur Ros. His music is good for a listen ever now and then.

I still don't see any of that except the faux crazy ****....haha. I just like her a lot :)

Debut, Vespertine and Homogenic are her best imo.

np: Blood Axis & Les Joyaux de la Princesse

Angmar 09-02-2008 07:27 PM

the blood brothers made the best album ever with "young machetes" discuss

botb 09-02-2008 08:42 PM

my bands lead guitarist loves the blood brothers but i have yet to check them out... what kind of music are they?

Iluvatar 09-02-2008 08:44 PM

rooted in post-hardcore with heavy influences from traditional hardcore, screamo, noise/experimental music, and perhaps metalcore (in some of the musical dynamics they use)
the blood brothers made the best album ever with "young machetes" discuss
I liked BPIB and Crimes but YM didn't really click with me =|

Tyler 09-02-2008 08:49 PM

Blood Brothers are basically a bunch of nasally guys incessantly screaming hysterically at one another.

Dimmu Burger 09-02-2008 08:50 PM
spoken vocals are cool if you're into Dimmu Borgir
I don't get it. DB don't do spoken stuff that I can remember.

Iluvatar 09-02-2008 08:50 PM
I liked BPIB and Crimes but YM didn't really click with me =|
it didnt click with me for over a year. then one week I just gradually realized how brilliant it was.

Iluvatar 09-02-2008 08:52 PM
ok i'm sold as to checking them out. what album should i check out?
oh Burn, Piano Island, Burn and Young Machetes. Fanbase prefers Burn but it seems to slowly be coming over like a wave over their fans that Young Machetes was in fact their best album, which I believe to be true.

Tyler 09-02-2008 08:52 PM

Ambulance vs. Ambulance is the one Blood Brothers song that's stuck with me for years.

Moon Flavor 09-02-2008 08:53 PM
Blood Brothers are basically a bunch of nasally guys incessantly screaming hysterically at one another.
I...agree o_O

Iluvatar 09-02-2008 08:54 PM

Love Rhymes with Hideous Car Wreck was a better single but when they sing "just remember that we're coming back for your children" at the end of Ambulance its pretty badass

/sceneing up the R&M comm thread
