I didn't notice how much I loved R.E.M until now...

Robert Crumb 12-25-2005 10:25 PM

I got a cashmere sweater for Christmas, among other things. I wouldn't think I'd be the kind of person who would wear a cashmere sweater. But it's easy to change your mind when you put one on.

Happy Kwanzaa.

6Stringer 12-26-2005 12:20 AM

I got a Creative Zen Touch 20 GB and Madden 2006 for Christmas. It was a good year, I believe.

Glitterati 12-26-2005 02:23 AM

Sometimes I wonder why Iai is never on anymore.

Then I go back to listening to some indie rock band you've never heard of.

Wanker 12-26-2005 09:24 AM

I'm never falling asleep whilst listening to Set Fire To Flames ever again. I had THE weirdest dreams.

biografiend 12-26-2005 11:51 AM

I love my goldfish. Esteban and Buffalo Bill are friendz 4 lyfe, and it makes me happy when they play games and express their friendship whilst swimming in their bowl.

I wish I could fall asleep to music.

pixiesfanyo 12-26-2005 12:11 PM

I wish I had a cord for my Holy Grail.
I'm looking to buy a 4-track cassette recorder just to mess around with some bedroom recordings and crap.

Is there any that are particularly good or bad, or are most pretty much the same?
I've been thinking about getting one, too, but have the same question as you.

Wanker 12-26-2005 12:49 PM
I wish I could fall asleep to music.
It's not difficult to fall asleep to. There's lots of ambient, avant-garde noise along with lots of silence.

A lot of it is pretty soothing too. Soothing and creepy at the same time (if that's possible)

Is the Sputnik skin for MX new, or is it just me?

edit: Oh I see......just read announcement.

Happymeal 12-26-2005 02:00 PM

For some reason the store where I bought my guitar is closed today, so I have to spend what's left of my funds on some effects pedal some other time.

BillCosby 12-26-2005 02:25 PM

I just finished Killing Yourself to Live and am re-reading Fargo Rock City, but Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs is by far the best he's done.

Blue Green or die!

Luxor 12-26-2005 04:18 PM

The regular blue was best. Curse mx for getting rid of it! Now I'm stuck with Grey.

Mxtabs is gone, crazy shiz dude.

Try Brian Eno.
So we're twins.

I think my thumb-piano was actually made in America. But it's a beautiful sounding instrument.
I know, I love how it reverberates when you pluck the middle two...things? Mine was definitely hand made, it looks very archaic.

The NPC 12-26-2005 08:49 PM

Sounds great guys, really it does.

Radiobass81 12-26-2005 08:58 PM

I'm trying to get into Indie, so I bought the (older) Death Cab for Cutie CD. Not sure if it's any good (to you guys), but I really like it.

Also got R.E.M live and Brave New World .

How's life?

Those were two very bad choices.

Good. If you want to get into indie, listen to The Smiths.

What?

That's some really stupid advice.

Grap Funeral by The Arcade Fire and maybe Apologies To The Queen Mary by Wolf Parade.

Preferably from p2p to decide whether you want to buy them or not. Most indie bands are going for the cardboard sleeve cd cases now. They're cool but they can scratch the cd up sometimes. It sucks.

Electrocution 12-26-2005 09:24 PM

aaah korg is my neighbor (take that europe).

Radiobass81 12-26-2005 09:36 PM

The Smiths are Indie?

I knew people here loved them, but I didn't know that :p...

Yeah, I listen to them. I was looking for "The Queen is Dead" all over the mall (went to quite a few CD places), but no luck...
Try Brian Eno.
I have Ambient Music 1 and Neroli. I usually do some stream of conciousness writing to them both, its nice. I think I could fall asleep to music if I was tired enough, but most of the time I just space out and lay there and visualize, all that.

br3ad_man 12-26-2005 10:43 PM

w00t for working public holidays. I made $120 in 5 hours.

Daniel! 12-26-2005 11:57 PM

I have a total of $130 worth of gift cards to Borders that I got from relatives today. And 20 bucks.

Glitterati 12-27-2005 12:03 AM

I drawded a picture today that I'm really proud of.
