What a roundabout complement.

samarahah 08-17-2009 05:35 PM

complement or compliment?

Liebensaft 08-17-2009 06:50 PM

Hahah either, I guess. Wasn't the spelling I was going for, but it works just the same. I wouldn't have realized unless you mentioned it. Or if I ever read my posts after typing them.
i got kicked out of a show for not being twenty one last night.
Was it the show at the Elks? Are you going to Total Fest?

I'm excited for Vile Blue Shades.

Jacaranda 08-20-2009 01:01 AM

it was at the palace a band my friend is in and some other country bands. but i didn't pay an am just going to see them at the peas farm sometime this week. every year i want to go but its just too much retarded neo psychedelic bullshit with scumbags i went to school with.

Montana 08-20-2009 05:54 PM

Was that Saturday night? I went to that show. The bouncer took away the beer I smuggled in. Goddamnitboyhowdy or whatever were good.

we actually got there at nine didn't feel like waiting around so we went to liquid planet then right as we were going in my friend called me and told me not to bother they are kicking everyone who isn't 21 out. idc that much the palace reminds me of a rec center.

Wanker 08-24-2009 01:43 PM

so i'm now working at the IRS. i'm traveling to new york city next monday for a week-long orientation... and, ironically, selecting a new health care plan makes me want to blow my brains out

JonM 08-24-2009 02:30 PM

Dude it is SO FUNNY to come back here and all of these people I knew as avatars in HIGH SCHOOL and I are, like, part of The Machine now.

I just got my new health coverage card today. Don't shoot yourself before yours arrives.

ATM 08-24-2009 03:54 PM

I just finished up school this summer. Still looking for a job :(

samarahah 08-24-2009 05:24 PM

i'm still looking for a job as well but my expenditures are almost nothing so i'm not too too worried. yay for cheap rent.

DENEpants 08-24-2009 05:26 PM

Try getting an internship with Americorps. If you have student loans to pay off, they suspend them along with providing weekly stipends and an end-of-term payout. My buddy went through a 10-month internship where he taught elementary school kids about ecological conservation in the winter and in the spring and summer, he and his team went on 10-day wilderness treks clearing/repairing trails and things of that nature. This was in the Student Conservation Association, which falls under the umbrella of Americorps.

Also, the position I got in the IRS is to be a Revenue Officer. You can apply for it with a Bachelor's Degree in any field--I was an English/Communications major and I got the job. You just need to have had 'superior academic achievement" (at least a 3.0 gpa), or 1 year of related field experience.
havent had health insurance in 3+ years knock on ****ing wood
i don't have it either but i'm pretty healthy so whatever.

Wanker 08-24-2009 10:08 PM

I live in MA so I'm actually required to have health insurance... and if you don't have a job that provides health insurance, you have to get MassHealth which is like $200 a month.

Luckily, the plan I'm signing up for is going to be $90 a month. I'm grateful that I have no debilitating/ridiculous health problems. I was going to sign up for the Government Employees Health Association plan but I don't feel like submitting insurance claims every time I go to the doctor or dentist. Aetna and HMO's for me, plzkthx
