Anyway, out of interest (taking something Badmoon said a page or so back), what does everyone here (primarily those who used to use the old CD Reviews forum, but everyone who has an opinion really) think of the new site?

The new CD review site is awesome.

The site is much better than it was a few weeks ago. It will be great as soon as we get the whole blank username problem fixed up.

I like it, but I didn't use the old forum much. I use the site a lot more, I think it's more efficient in some ways, but less so in others, but I think overall it was a change for the positive.

I'm feeling accomplished. I don't suck at guitar as badly as I thought.. I can play [I]Iron Man[/I], and not just the main riff everyone knows even if they can't name the band. I can play the solo (not quite up to speed yet, but its coming along nicely for learning it last night) I'm proud of me. :)

My hair's getting really nice and long and I like it, but I have to get it layered again. I seem to have a bit of that Jimmy Page problem where the hair just puffs out crazily.

Anyway, what's new here? I've been poking my head into R+M a bit since I was last on, but the forums seem slow tonight.

I just really hate how it's hard to notice every new review. I always miss or not notice certain writers' reviews, and many miss mine (Well, by the looks of it) :(

Plus many bands need merging, you cannot edit your comments, etc

I feel mine aren't read a lot either, but there are a lot of other nice things added to the system...for instance, being able to look at all te reviews someone has written and the like.

The new site looks beautiful, but the forum construction was better for seeing the progress of conversations surrounding the reviews and stuff. There are also a few peculiarities: for instance, splashfreak wrote a new Alter Bridge review that he attempted to make less biased based on how the previous one led to 520 posts of defense against flames, yet in the transfer to the new site the new review retained all of the old responses from MX. I would have liked to see new responses, but now I have to scroll forward through the 38 pages of convo we've got to see any, if they occur.

It's a minor point though. :)
