I was just at the 'semi-official' Tool site and this is the update they had there:

"Early word is that Tool's next album may well be out by April. But we all know how much release dates love to change... §"

Well, I suppose April makes more sense than Januray as previously speculated.

Phototropic 12-09-2005 07:11 PM

So I can't be bothered to read back this thread

Can someone sum up in a sentence or two any news or details about the new tool album, aside from the release date?

If we knew anything about the new Tool album, we definitely wouldn't be talking about Ninja Turtles.

All it says is that it will be out by April, not in April.

Maynard thinks Leonardo is the coolest Ninja Turtle and the new album will have a 28 minute song completely dedicated to him, as well as a fold out poster of him in the liner notes.

Dude3 12-10-2005 11:54 AM

I haven't been here in a while.

What have I missed?

Kage 12-10-2005 12:18 PM

Maynard's favorite Ninja Turtle, and there will, indeed, be a new Tool album coming out.

Well, just picked this up from another board:

PARABOL/PARABOLA & SCHISM DVD PRE-ORDERS

I've just been informed that pre-sales of the PARABOL(A) & SCHISM dvds will be available in the TA SHOPPING BAZAAR tomorrow (that's FRIDAY, DEC 9). Any orders will be packed up over the weekend and shipped out on Monday (Dec 12th) and Tuesday (Dec 13th), so that those who want them slightly before they're released in the chains can do so (also, in case some of you are worried about finding them in your local record stores). The dvds for Parabol(a) and Schism are being sold separately, each one for $9.98 (I'm fairly sure) plus shipping and handling. Each one contains the video with audio commentary by a guest (and NOT by the band members) plus a LUSTMORD audio re-mix of the song.

Hmm. I wonder if that's really all they're going to have. I thought they were really gonna have commentary by the band. Oh well. Just thought I'd share this.

denboy 12-10-2005 02:51 PM

That seems mightily sucky

mudvayne420 12-10-2005 09:38 PM

if it's going to be like that then for sure they released them for contractual purposes, but maybe not, i dont mind i'll still check them out.

BlindWriting 12-10-2005 10:38 PM

Ten bucks says that the commentaries are either from Scott Reeder, King Buzzo, one of the members of Collide, or anyone else associated to the Tool that Blair talks about on the site for no real reason.

Dr. Jake Destructo 12-10-2005 11:31 PM

:::UPDATE ON TOOL SITE:::

MJK said the album is on final tweaking stages. OMGZZ!!!!!1!

I thought that asterisk was Blair's assessment, which is about as meaningful as a steaming pile of crap. I'm guessing the album will be released within the first 3 months of 2006.

...........................Those lazy b*stards can't even comment on their own videos, theyre so rich they can get guys to do it for them. Damn you to hell tool!!

Ah no i love you maynard, danny, adam and justin!!!

That is pretty weak though.

I'd say scott reeder will definatly be in their, and for parabola definatly alex grey, hey thats not so bad, but still damn you to hell tool!!!!!!!

randomthought9 12-11-2005 09:27 PM

I actually like how they don't give commentary. It kinda keeps it open to interpretation, which is half the fun.

And yeah, I can't wait for the new album as well. What's it gonna be called?

Darkness 12-11-2005 09:34 PM

Yeah, if they told us what the videos and songs actually meen, that would suck indeed.

Futuro 12-11-2005 09:41 PM

Sup dudes. Long time no seeeeeeeee.

This "News" is pretty lame, seeing as the videos are so easily accesible, I really doubtI will buy them as it stands. Now the live DVD.....
