If a band member "looking like a retard" makes you dislike him, metalcore is obviously not a genre for you. And he hasn't been put on the backburner...
and for your electronic part that you're looking for, Casting Such A Thin Shadow because it completely makes the atmosphere. Also his part in Too Bright To See Too Loud To Hear is awesome atmosphere-wise. Then he has a lot of parts in other songs that aren't very audible but he's still a driving force in the band's sound. I'm not saying he's an incredible musician btw... notice i was talking about him personally being a really nice guy and just a good person and nothing to do with his performance. but he does have a great stage presence. Also, he does some backing drum parts live to add another layer to some of the new stuff. So what else would you like me to say? and i still am going to stick by my opinion firmly about saosin and say that cove is a great vocalist, their guitar-work is great, and the drummer is simply outstanding. but once again, idk why you're trying to argue about saosin in here as they aren't a metalcore band. |
If a band member "looking like a retard" makes you dislike him, metalcore is obviously not a genre for you.
Dude, how old are you seriously? Lets have a serious discuss and not make stupid comments, I obviously enjoy metalcore and gave other reasons for his incompetence so please no low blows, especially coming from you. And he does look like a buffoon.
And he hasn't been put on the backburner...
Listen to TTOC and then DTGL, tracks like Angel Below, tell me what other (good) tracks he did after with the same distinction.
and for your electronic part that you're looking for, Casting Such A Thin Shadow because it completely makes the atmosphere.
Casting... long intro is a decent listen first but fast forwardable the next also don`t get that guitar part confused with his electronic ****. Is that your best example?
and i still am going to stick by my opinion firmly about saosin and say that cove is a great vocalist, their guitar-work is great, and the drummer is simply outstanding. but once again, idk why you're trying to argue about saosin in here as they aren't a metalcore band.
Cove is a second rate Green, only current fanboys who started listening to their debut before their ep would agree, enough said. They lost their edge and starting sucking major (label) dick to appeal to the masses, more specifically young girls. |
twasnt a low blow. simply being honest.
honestly i dont see why you're so argumentive about me simply having differing opinions.
Casting... long intro is a decent listen first but fast forwardable the next also don`t get that guitar part confused with his electronic ****. Is that your best example?
did you not read that paragraph and see my other example that i came up with off the top of my head? Would To Whom It May Concern's atmosphere be better for you? also using Angel Below is pretty much a way of making me admit defeat by saying something completely unfair. As The Changing Of Times was their last melodeathy at times record and they have established a completely different sound, how would I give you an example of something in the same vein of a style they no longer play. trying to make me look silly by doing this kinda made you look silly in all honesty
Cove is a second rate Green, only current fanboys who started listening to their debut before their ep would agree, enough said. They lost their edge and starting sucking major (label) dick to appeal to the masses, more specifically young girls.
considering i'm neither a fanboy of the debut as i heard their ep first or not a young girl, that kinda nullifies your argument.
so please no low blows, especially coming from you.
isn't that incredibly hypocritical? |
I don't like where this thread is going.....Chris Dudley.......TDWP.....
TDWP = really generic, but theyre solid and are REALLY good live intense energeticness as for chris dudley, stfu underoath is absolutely amazing, and chris dudley does great electronic stuff, and is also a ****ing nice *** dude and absolutely hilarious to watch on stage but i guess looking like chris farley with a sidepart makes you a loser |
i was waiting on you for backup mappy. haha
|
you got it
|
im gonna eat some booms before i see underoath on wednesday
gonna be awesome, such a good band when youre tripping |
i haven't gone to see a band on shrooms

i love to blaze a bong in the parking lot at local shows before i go in
thats wonderful lol |
hell yeah, got high with the dudes from AGATG before and after the show, they had some dank stuff i must say
|
i love to blaze a bong in the parking lot at local shows before i go in
thats wonderful lol
thats like the only way i blaze nowadays doing on campus is too risky and my two old spots got more patrols recently so its pretty depressing |
lol veil of maya mooched off my buddy, which is cool cause he deals and he was like trying to show off
brandon was like "holy ****" after he took the first hit lol |
twasnt a low blow. simply being honest.
honestly i dont see why you're so argumentive about me simply having differing opinions.
Different opinions bring about arguments and you weren't being honest, just naive.
did you not read that paragraph and see my other example that i came up with off the top of my head? Would To Whom It May Concern's atmosphere be better for you? also using Angel Below is pretty much a way of making me admit defeat by saying something completely unfair. As The Changing Of Times was their last melodeathy at times record and they have established a completely different sound, how would I give you an example of something in the same vein of a style they no longer play. trying to make me look silly by doing this kinda made you look silly in all honesty
You're right about the change in style but that still doesn't change the fact he's had considerably less output, style aside. So they've established a new sound that doesn't requires Chris to stand out as much i.e. he was put on the back burner. I'm not trying to make you look silly, just defending my point, and there you go again with "honesty". It's not honesty, it's your opinion.
considering i'm neither a fanboy of the debut as i heard their ep first or not a young girl, that kinda nullifies your argument.
Congratulations.
isn't that incredibly hypocritical?
Yes it was but you were hypocritical at first and now contradictive, trying to take an elitiest stance by saying a genre isn't for me. You acknowledge your "non-elitiest" and you obviously enjoy music of a lesser grade (I'm sure others here have said this), then you spew out comments like the foremention. |
I was simply saying that if you judge a book by its cover then metalcore probably isnt the genre for you since a lot of people in metalcore bands look like "big losers".
Different opinions bring about arguments and you weren't being honest, just naive.
NO. Differing opinions only bring about arguments if you're looking for an argument, which you obviously are. Differing opinions normally just bring about discussion, but by trying to appear all high and mighty, you've pretty much just tried to argue from the start. It didn't begin with you saying "I think this"... it began with you basically making fun of all 3 things I was talking about. also, how in the **** does me making the above point make me naive? maybe you just didn't understand what I was saying.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
You're right about the change in style but that still doesn't change the fact he's had considerably less output, style aside
He's had the same amount of output all along, it's just less noticeable. why is this so hard for you to understand? I'm sorry they don't use melodeath synth anymore and Chris now uses more of an electronic sound but why the hell are you taking it out on me?
It's not honesty, it's your opinion.
it's my honest opinion. yet another thing most people would understand if they weren't trying to take everything the wrong way and/or personally that i say.
So they've established a new sound that doesn't requires Chris to stand out as much i.e. he was put on the back burner
lolwhut? no it just requires him to not be at the forefront of the music and to be more a crafter of the atmosphere of the music. that's not putting him on the "back burner", that would be him doing something that's not as audible but still as important.
I wasn't trying to take an "elitiest" stance. Read the first thing I wrote in this post over again. Just for emphasis so maybe it'll get through yo skull this time. and how does calling you out on being a hypocrite make me an "elitiest"?
and you obviously enjoy music of a lesser grade
lol speaking of opinions... go up and read the first thing i said in this post again. it has nothing to do with the quote, i just think you should read it again because you obviously aren't getting my sarcastic tone. the internetz is srs business. Also just for the record, if you're trying to appear more intelligent than the person you're "arguing" with, you may wanna make sure your grammar n' spelling is correct. and before you take a jab at me for my grammar, which i know you will, i'm not trying to appear smarter than you or even trying to continue arguing rather than just discussing music. continue to try to grill me and prove me wrong if you must but to be perfectly honest (that's my honest opinion and me telling the truth; that's how the word honest is used there, i hope that doesn't make me an "elitiest"), i would rather just discuss music like we normally do itt. and one more time, go reread the first part of what i said. |
longest post ever
|
yeah that was pretty long. about half of it was emphasizing the same damn things though. i dont know why people take things so personally on teh internetz. I thought i'd address everything he said so maybe it would be clearer.

most people are just retarded
pretty much |
Imma make this short, I think we can both agree this is going no where.
I was simply saying that if you judge a book by its cover then metalcore probably isnt the genre for you since a lot of people in metalcore bands look like "big losers".
I know what you were saying but you of all people shouldn't be telling someone that a metalcore genre isn't for some, it isn't warranted. this prolly shouldn't bother me as much as it is but the word is elitist. elitist. not elitiest. elitist. there is only one e in the word elitist.
