Have you heard the version of Hurt on Radiant Decay?
I haven't, actually. This is the first time I've heard of it.

YouGottaBeCrazy 12-02-2005 02:44 PM

Did anyone else notice this paragraph from wikipedia?
Although the end of the tour seemed to spell another dormancy for the band, they did not become completely inactive. While Keenan recorded and toured with A Perfect Circle, the other band members released an official interview conducted by (long-time toolband.com maintainer) Blair McKenzie Blake in which they answered many questions about the upcoming album, future DVD releases, and the new direction of their music. Members of the Tool Army were also given access to a recording of the three members jamming to some of their new material, sparking increased anticipation for the album to come.
I don't recall hearing about the band letting people hear some of the new material.

paganman7 12-02-2005 02:50 PM

Just in case there was some lingering doubt: the album is absolutely finished being recorded...Justin is on a sailboat sailing towards the Dutch Antilles (per Blair's most recent post).

YouGottaBeCrazy 12-02-2005 03:00 PM

Yeah, I just read that. If he's on a sailboat heading to someplace far away, then there's no doubt in my mind that the album is done. What's left is the music video and the artwork, which has been worked on for a few months now, I think. I believe this album will be coming a lot earlier then when I originally predicted (June 2006).

Im guessing January-February 2006 (I hope!) Danny said that it would be spring 2006. Hopefully the live dvd will be released before it as some people are speculating. That would definatly keep me "temporaraly pacified"!!

Red Cow 12-03-2005 06:39 PM

denboy 12-03-2005 08:13 PM

If they're releasing the live dvd before the next album, I'll bet you 20 bucks that there'll be atleast a half years space between the next album and the dvd

horseypie 12-04-2005 03:42 AM

maybe theyre releasing two dvds for contratual obligations...maybe they had to release two dvds so they split them up

paganman7 12-04-2005 03:52 PM
maybe theyre releasing two dvds for contratual obligations
That's something that I'd not considered. I think it's unlikely, but certainly a possibility. Good thinking mate!

Additionally, Maynard's involvement in the upcoming album is probably finished as well...he's now focussing on his passion for wine.

Did you see it's "merkin vinvards". Isn't a merkin a pubic wig?!!!! (Don't ask me how I know that). That does seem like a name maynard would use anyway!!!

Indeed: http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=merkin

Early 2006 is not the spring.

Just because I'm bored:

The Toolnavy page with "Maynard's" profile has been taken down. I'm still not fully convinced it was authentic, but proponents could argue that it was taken down because it suggested something may come out January 3rd...just like the picture on Adam's myspace page of the audio reel cases.

How did those reels insist it was going to be released January 3rd?

I actually e-mailed Blair about the Maynard username and the date and he said that he had no clue what I was talking about.

I'm curious about something. Over at Toolnavy.com, there's a member named Maynard. He doesn't show up when you do a member search. His user title is Band Member or something like that, which is impossible to get on those forums. There's a date in his info: 01.03.06 Do you know the significance of this, and if so, what is it?
