X was one of the original late 70's early 80's pop-punk bands. They weren't pop-punk by definition, of course. But songs like White Girl, Blue Spark, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, Poor Girl, and a bunch others just had that pop thing to them. Great songwriters. Man, I can't wait...

I always relate them to bands like The Dils and The Blasters etc in terms of sound, they tended to mix it up alot.

You know, I've never understood the Blasters comparisons. Any of it. Except that X incorporates rockabilly into their songs sometimes. I don't find styles or sound similiar much at all. X is clearly a punk band. The Blasters are clearly not.
