sounds like theyre trying too hard. lol I really cant stand them anymore... theres some good riffs like three times per album, but the vocals kind of suck dick.

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 03:11 PM
new AILD sounds like theyre trying to be ABR

with not quite as many breakdowns

and clean vocals that sound like TDWP
are you srs? to me thats way off the mark tbh

TimJim 05-05-2010 03:13 PM

ive heard the new stuff was awesome, but currently the only thing floating around are youtube rips transcoded to 320kps

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 03:16 PM

definately worth a listen yeah, its a dec effort.

Dimmu Burger 05-05-2010 05:33 PM

I like it personally. If you didn't like them before I dunno that you'll like them now, but it's still a step in the right direction.

The Feeding 05-05-2010 05:37 PM

I agree with above post

Xplisit 05-05-2010 05:45 PM

the clean vocals seriously do sound like TDWP though come on

im not so keen on my ABR comment anymore but some parts of the album definitely sound a bit like Constellations..

I like Lambesis on this cd

Dimmu Burger 05-05-2010 05:46 PM

I think the clean vocals just sound like the most generic thing you can make come out of a dude's mouth. Not bad, but not good either.

Xplisit 05-05-2010 05:49 PM

so basically TDWP

but yeah theres a couple songs that arent marred by that bs so its decent

Dimmu Burger 05-05-2010 05:50 PM

The newer tDWP clean vocals are much higher and Saosinesque than that.

Xplisit 05-05-2010 05:51 PM

maybe i just think they sound similar because they use the same vocoder

Dimmu Burger 05-05-2010 05:55 PM

lol maybe

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 06:30 PM

yeah they are weak cleans but the rest makes up for it

RetiredAt21 05-05-2010 07:22 PM

Heard like two songs from the new AILD album earlier and I don't get why these guys are even making music. This is seriously some of the most uninspired and redundant **** I've ever heard.

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 07:37 PM

but yet they remain popular. go figure

RetiredAt21 05-05-2010 07:39 PM
but yet they remain popular. go figure
It's not surprising, it's easy to digest metalcore for noobs/kiddies.

EDIT: and dudes who like to be bored to death.

Tyler 05-05-2010 07:47 PM

dudes who like to be bled2deth

RetiredAt21 05-05-2010 08:19 PM

Bled2Def changed my life.

This confirms my theory that people want to hear the most generic music possible. AILD, KsE, All That Remains, Parkway Drive etc. All generic, all successful.

Yerp pretty much.

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 08:55 PM

i still dont see what is so generic about PWD

RetiredAt21 05-05-2010 08:57 PM
i still dont see what is so generic about PWD
Everything pretty much.

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 08:59 PM

i am yet to find a band where i thought hey thats what PWD sound like.....

RetiredAt21 05-05-2010 09:01 PM

Dude come on. The vocals, the lame pseudo melodeath riffs, the breakdowns etc... is all very much generic and predictable.

Dimmu Burger 05-05-2010 09:05 PM

They don't even do their own version of it dude, yeah they're pretty good at it, but there is not a speck of originality there whatsoever.

RetiredAt21 05-05-2010 09:06 PM

They are playing by-the-books metalcore for scene kid consumption basically.

Dimmu Burger 05-05-2010 09:11 PM

Architects on the other hand, effing rule.

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 09:24 PM

Hollow Crown was a let down for me tbbh
They don't even do their own version of it dude, yeah they're pretty good at it, but there is not a speck of originality there whatsoever.
i still disagree, they have no lame *** cleans, top notch guitar work and drumming and slay live, wtf more do you need. I am just very keen we'll see what they come up with when they release their new album Deep Blue in late June. **** the haterz

landonius 05-05-2010 09:55 PM

is Shai Hulud still together? Just listened to Misanthropy Pure again, shits ****ing excellent. If they are, i need to see them, this stuff begs to be played live.

nevertoolate 05-05-2010 10:19 PM

yeah they are touring down here during this month, pretty keen to see em, hopefully they play plenty of their old stuff

Dimmu Burger 05-05-2010 11:21 PM

Hollow Crown was the **** dude.

Yes they don't have clean singing and yes they have really good guitars and drumming but that doesn't make them unique, it just makes them good at what they do, and I agree with that for sure. I hope the new album shows some more creativity though.

nevertoolate 05-06-2010 01:10 AM

well their vocalist said that this was their 'rawest' and 'heaviest' effort yet so i doubt that they will stray much from their apparent digestable sound but I do hope for some progression at least.

2muchket! 05-06-2010 04:16 AM

PWD got me into metalcore, still have a soft spot for them.

The Feeding 05-06-2010 09:09 AM

Poison The Well were prolly my first

2muchket! 05-06-2010 09:10 AM

them 2

still love that band

xMalcolmXx 05-06-2010 09:12 AM

can't not love that band

Xplisit 05-06-2010 09:38 AM

tOoD is still my fav

The Feeding 05-06-2010 09:42 AM

You Come Before You also has some amazing tracks, dunno if I can choose

Xplisit 05-06-2010 09:44 AM

have you ever listened to my dig?

xMalcolmXx 05-06-2010 09:48 AM

tear from the red

**** you all
