ok stretch to 13-14 years get all the 90's

I try to listen to modern rock songs, but i just cant stand the music. I dont know...Maybe the constant use of powerchords, Horrible (sometimes girly sounding) singers, a bassline that always follows the guitar powerchords, and a 4/4 beat in the backround with the occasional fill around the set. Having an ear for all the instruments (being able to play all myself) really makes modern rock boring; and they dont put on good shows either. Trust me, ive seen enough

Everythings the same, theres alot of genre differences now compared to the 70s, but their all based around the same structure. Or at least from what ive been listening to. Maybe the radio stations suck too

I don't like most modern rock, but I've got to admit that I am really into Coldplay. They are great songwriters, and their music has a very atmospheric sound, like Floyd.

Yup, that's what I was hinting at. Modern rock/=Mainstream rock. There are a lot of lesser known rock bands making great music, but even some more mainstream bands are making good music.

The only band ive ever seen put on a half decent show was Audioslave...but their sort of a band made from other previous bands too, so theirs a reason for that.

I was surprised the chili peppers werent all that great either. Maybe they were worn out from their tour, since Philly was almost last on the schedule to, but they havnt even came out with a full orginal album since By The Way either...slackers.

One band i have heard that caught my attention was silvertide though. That song Aint Comin home wasnt too bad.
