Have to disagree there. Fighting isnt a sport, i could walk out into the street right now and pick a fight with someone but it wouldnt be called a sport, it would be called a vicious attack. So boxing/kickboxing is planned fighting that people pay to see

Have you ever stepped into a boxing gym and even lightly trained?
A boxer works far far harder than rugby players or footballers can, a boxer has to maintain their weight near exactly, you won't see them munching down on a chicken leg.
Boxing isn't the same as fighting, I've trained in boxing and kickboxing, fighting is free for all, boxing restricts your fighting to about 6 techniques, which means you must show hideous training and skill.
Imagine blocking the punches of a massive guy trying to break your face*, with alot of power behind him, not only do you have to see these attacks and block them, but you have to come up with a stragegy to open up his defenses.
You are being completely ignorant, boxers are some of the hardest working athletes in the world.

It has rules and pits mental and physical strength against one another in competition, to me, that's sport.
You are practicly saying that if a football match has a tackle and someone gets hurt, it's not a sport because of the violence.

Trust me, go down to your local boxing gym, tell them you don't think it's a sport and watch the explanations fly.

Also a streetfight is nothing like boxing, try getting into the ring before you make that silly assumption. That's like saying football isn't a sport because if I kick a can around outside my house with a friend you don't class it as a sport.

*Bear in mind, no offence to anyone but if you haven't trained in a fighting art, you can't punch properly with correct technique, your punches suck.

I dont want to try a fighting sport, im a musician and i dont want to hurt my gifted hands made for bass playing.
