I was on here spamming with Jack one day... good times!
I didn't post much then, but I was definately around to be annoyed by it :D
Several of their KEA songs are thrash, the others are not. I'd say overall KEA and AJFA are their trashiest
I'd say Hit The Lights and Metal Militia are there two most 'thrashiest' songs, but I probably have a mixed definition of thrash.
What parts of MOP would you say? I'll say Battery and Damage Inc, if pushed.
I'd say Battery definately has thrash elements. Very good song too.
Kirk is looking good

What's this: '20 year salute to the Master Of Puppets album' they talk about there?! :amaze:
Rob's awesome, I think we are gonna really hear his influence on the next album.
I really hope so!

So.. What are the Metallifreaks of MX listening to?
I've been listening to a lot of Metallica, Megadeth and Dream Theater (As usual), and lately some John Butler Trio, which is a very cool Australian band, he might have a name in the US, I'm not sure, but anyway you guys should check him out :D

Also been playing heaps of guitar! I kinda feel stupid for the past, however long, I've really been getting into guitar.
I've mainly been playing with my arm, but I found out I should be using my wrist, and everything's so much easier now, I feel with a little more use of my wrist (I've been playing with my wrist for the past 3 days, it's so stiff :( ), I could probably play Motorbreath (Which is a song I've wanted to play for a while now).

Apocalyptic Raids 10-28-2005 10:03 AM

How long have you been playing Chu?

Chu 10-28-2005 10:17 AM

Not long enough :(

Edit: 2:03am?! Go to bed!!

Huber 10-28-2005 11:12 AM

I trust this thread more than the guitar forum, and was wondering your opinions on the Line 6 Spider II.

I was thinkin' of picking one up on eBay. I need an amp fast because my other broke.

Kyle 10-28-2005 11:36 AM

I've played on and didn't like it. I'm probably biased because I own one, but I much prefer the sound from the Vox Ad50vt.

My friend has one, I haven't ever played on it but it flashes in pretty colours.

Great amp for the money. But if you can afford one
go with the Hughes and Kettner Matrix combo

I love it. Great tone.

Green Red and Yellow :D
I didn't post much then, but I was definately around to be annoyed by it
:upset: It's ok...
I'd say Hit The Lights and Metal Militia are there two most 'thrashiest' songs, but I probably have a mixed definition of thrash.
Yea, thrash is a very loose term. A lot of their songs can stretch and just barely be considered thrash.

I've been listening to a lot of Trivium and Children of Bodom because I'm going to see them soon. I've been listening to a hell of a lot of Sonata Arctica too, their amazing. Their cover of fade to black... :orgasm:

Green Red and Yellow :D

I seriously think it's the only reason he bought it.

Britton 10-28-2005 01:09 PM

Joe thank you so much for sending me that album. I'm gonna see them with
COB too. I can't wait. The album is semi changing how I think of music.

The spiders lights are so cool

IAJP 10-28-2005 01:09 PM

Can anyone tell me the Metallica song where Lars screams a profanity really loud into the mic?

I saw it on Some Kind Of Monster, but wasn't paying attention, :(

Joe 10-28-2005 01:10 PM
I seriously think it's the only reason he bought it.
It's not the only reason I bought it. I really do like the tone it's got. I actually really like the distortion. The actual clean isn't too great, but I'm looking at a digitech multi-effects pedal board for xmas

Not a problem at all

Yea wait one sec, lemme find it.
I thought it'd be on a lyrics site, it's not. hold on
Hm, i still don't hear it anywhere. I'm not sure, was that actually one of the songs they put on the album? I thought it was

Britton 10-28-2005 01:11 PM

Don't get a pedal board please!

Lars screaming... I think that was material that they ended up not using.

Joe does the name Nana mean anything to you>?

Britton 10-28-2005 01:18 PM

No, and why not?

Same, it's been a really long time. I can't find it anywhere

Britton 10-28-2005 01:21 PM

I know this really hot young lady that goes by the name 'Nana"
she's telling me about this guy named Joe that she knows and he's
really big into Metal especially Tallica. I though you all were about the same
age...

So I was freaking out

Nope, don't know any hot chicks named Nana. My girlfriend isn't quite into Metallica, but she can recognize it when it's on the radio which is good.

Britton 10-28-2005 01:26 PM

I'm gonna sound like a jerk...but what does she look like?

Joe 10-28-2005 03:20 PM
I'm gonna sound like a jerk...but what does she look like?
Short, brown hair... why???

So back to Metallica. I tried playing along with Battery just a few minutes ago and turns out I really can't play it...

yeah me neither, it's the gallops that catch me.

Joe 10-28-2005 03:25 PM

Agreed. I can play every bit of that song except the verse

NP: Fuel

Jev 10-28-2005 03:42 PM

Anyone find playing Dream Theater(or something hard) before Metallica makes it so much more easier?

Joe 10-28-2005 03:43 PM
Anyone find playing Dream Theater(or something hard) before Metallica makes it so much more easier?
I don't even try dream theater. I don't have that speed and I don't even really like it all that much.

Jev 10-28-2005 03:47 PM

The solos are difficult but the rhythm for a few songs are not all that difficult. At least I don't think they are. But if you don't like it fair enough.

I do admit some of their stuff is cool. I really cannot stand their vocalist.

Jev 10-28-2005 03:55 PM

Stream of Conciousness is a great instrumental, they've got quite a few instrumentals, YTSE jam is another.

I think they Black Album vocals are the best, I'd love those back.

If you want to do it it's not a problem. I'm not quite sure what's going and what we're doing, but if you really don't want to that's fine.
