yeah, read it for sure, it'll be hard when you start though, language is difficult but you pick it up as you read.

and i've never read Lord Of The Flies, but i usually only hear good things about it. i did see one of the movies of it though in law class earlier this school year.

Yeah, but it's too predictable. Plus, all the kids pissed me off. Jack was a douche, and all his minions were tools. Ralph (was that his name?) Was too stringheaded to realize what was good for him, and Piggy was just a big fat vagina.

Beowulf was alright ... we read it last year. Good for the stuff we usually read in class, but I'm not a fan of old literature.

Piggy had good ideas, but he was too much of a pu[i][b][/i][/b]ssy to actually have anyone listen to him. He should have known how it was going to end up, but he kept fighting it ... leading to his death. What a moron.

By the way, are you talking about Lord of the Flies?

Simon was the best character because of his representation of Christ.

So many symbols in that book...I loved it. I really liked when the pilot was shot down and the kids thing it's the beast. First off, it shows how the niave and "innocent" the children are for wanting to get back to civilization. Second, it shows the horrors of the world and how they effect even children ("The Beastie" I think it was called).

well, the characters [I]are[/I] from like 6 - 12 years old and immature so i can understand that, but the ideas that the characters develop and they tension between jack and ralph is great . . .

Oh man, if you think there is a lot of symbolism in that book, read "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" by ... crap, who is it .... Tom stoppard, that's it. Or read "A Dolls House" by Ibsen. Both are so symbolic that basically every line can be taken in at least 2 different ways. The first one is actually reall funny, and i'd reccommend it for you guys to read.
